2022 ALL-BIG SKY FIRST TEAM: TE Marshel Martin (SAC),...Martin returns to the first team for the second consecutive season. He led the Hornets this season with 43 receptions, 587 yards and eight touchdowns. During the season, he caught at least five pass es in five games and had touchdowns in six contests. The junior already owns all the career receiving records in Sacramento State history by a tight end and is currently seventh in the school record book with 1,786 career receiving yards. His 21 touchdow ns are also tied for third while his 135 career receptions place him sixth all-time at Sacramento State. - Sacramento State Football

2021 ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): TE Marshel Martin, Sac State,...Martin was named to the first team at tight end after being a second team honoree in 2019. Martin caught a team high 47 passes for 590 yards and six touchdowns in 10 games. He also rushed for 14 yards and a touchdown during the year. Martin was a consistent target for the Hornet quarterbacks as he had a minimum of two receptions in each game he played and had a pair of 100-yard efforts. He finished the season with 36 catches for 514 yards and had at least one reception in every game. The redshirt freshman had five catches against both Arizona State and UC Davis for his season high.
