Brisker broke up a desperation pass toward the end zone by Auburn's Bo Nix as time expired and No. 10 Penn State held on to beat No. 22 Auburn 28-20 on Saturday night.

Sean Clifford completed 28 of 32 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns as Penn State (3-0) welcomed back its white out crowd to Beaver Stadium for a rare visit from a Southeastern Conference teams. "I was ready," Brisker said. "When you come to Penn State, you expect to play in front of big crowds like this. You've got to take it in for 10 seconds, then it's back to reality." Jahan Dotson made 10 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown, tight end Brenton Strange caught a touchdown and tight end Tyler Warren and Noah Cain ran for scores to help the Nittany Lions beat an SEC opponent at home for the first time since 1985 against Alabama. Penn State had to make two late defensive stands to hold the lead. "I think we have a really good mentality on defense," coach James Franklin said. "I think our leadership is really good. I think we're a mentally tough football team. I think we're a physically tough football team." - Penn State/AP College Football

  09/04/21 - SS Jaquan BriskerrSr/2022, Penn State, 6-1, 206 (DS#2 SS) + More +

Penn State's defense continually stood tall and Wisconsin kept stubbing its toe whenever the Badgers approached the end zone. Those contrasting approaches made the difference Saturday when the 19th-ranked Nittany Lions outlasted No. 12 Wisconsin 16-10 to end the Badgers' 25-game winning streak in home openers. Jaquan Brisker and Ji'Ayir Brown intercepted Graham Mertz's passes deep in Penn State territory in the final 2 1/2 minutes. Wisconsin had four scoreless trips inside Penn State's 25, including three inside the 10. "Our kids willed it to happen today," Penn State coach James Franklin said.

Penn State won despite getting just one first down before halftime and allowing Wisconsin to control possession for over 42 minutes. The victory assured Penn State would have a better start this year after losing its first five games in the pandemic-delayed 2020 season. Brisker picked off a fourth-and-goal pass at Penn State's 2 and returned it 41 yards with 2:15 left to preserve a 16-10 lead. Brown sealed the victory with an interception on the game's final play. - Penn State/AP College Football

  07/18/21 - SS Jaquan BriskerrSr/2022, Penn State, 6-1, 206 (DS#2 SS) + More +

Penn State may have uncertainty at one starting safety spot, but the other is seemingly etched in stone. Jaquan Brisker is one of the best safeties in the conference and arguably one of the most complete safeties in the country. However, the Nittany Lions will still have to find another player to step in alongside him and would usually need another to potentially play the star position, as well. But this season, the star position should be filled by a cornerback, allowing the Nittany Lions to generally focus on only playing two safeties.

Brisker excels against the run and against the pass and doesn't show any glaring weaknesses. The senior operates well in zone coverage and is more than capable in man, as well. He tracks receivers well in zone and does a good job of staying over the top and breaking up passes when he's asked to play deep. He prevents receivers from getting by him, while using his ball skills to track passes and make it difficult for opponents to earn completions. If he does allow a reception, or has an offensive player coming toward him in the open field, Brisker wraps up well and very rarely misses tackles. He takes good angles in pursuit whenever he's tracking ball carriers - whether they're operating after the catch or on a run play - and brings down the opponent whenever he has an opportunity to do so. You won't find many flaws in Brisker's game, and that bodes well for his future beyond Penn State. - Centre Times

  11/05/20 - SS Jaquan BriskerrSr/2022, Penn State, 6-1, 206 (DS#2 SS) + More +

Brisker built his resume last year in his first season at Happy Valley. He played in all 13 games and made 32 tackles (15 solo) and added a pair of interceptions (Iowa, Michigan State) which tied for the team lead. Brisker's interception in the fourth quarter against Iowa helped Penn State top the Hawkeyes, 17-12, and improve to 6-0. The Nittany Lions secured bowl eligibility for the 50th time in program history and went on to post an 11-2 overall record and a 53-39 victory over Memphis in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. For his efforts during the 2019 season, Brisker was selected to the Pro Football Focus All-Big Ten Third Team. "Last year, I would say, it helped me get my feet wet," Brisker said. "Stepping on the field, knowing what it's like to be out there, it helped me know what is going to happen this year. I feel like this year, studying more film, taking better angles to the ball and things like that will help me be a better player." - Tribune Review
