  2020 PHIL STEELE/DRAFTSCOUT PRESEASON ALL-FCS FOURTH TEAM: LB Brennan Young, Houston Baptist, Jr.,...Young led the Southland Conference and ranked fifth nationally with 11.3 tackles per game, recording 124 total tackles, 10 for loss, one sack, two interceptions and four pass breakups in 2019. Young posted double-digit tackles seven times and tied the school record with 19 tackles against Southeastern Louisiana. He was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week after making nine tackles and two interceptions against Northwestern State on Sept. 21. - Houston Baptist Football

  SEPT 23/WEEK 4 SOUTHLAND DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Houston Baptist's Brennan Young, So., Linebacker, Conroe, Texas,...Young tallied nine tackles, including three solo stops, and picked off two passes in the Huskies' 48-21 win over Northwestern State. With the Demons down at HBU's two-yard line, he took a Shelton Eppler pass back 48 yards to midfield and kept NSU off the board. Young's second pick also came with the Demons threatening in the red zone and marked just the second multi-interception game in program history.
