  2022 PRESEASON BILETNIKOFF AWARD WATCH LIST: Tyrese Chambers, FIU,...Chambers established himself as one of the top deep threats in college football during a record-breaking campaign last season. He ranked second nationally with an average of 23.9 yards per reception in 2021, while posting the top single season receiving-yard performance in FIU annals (1,074 yards).

The Baltimore, Md., native also recorded the most touchdown catches in a season by a FIU player - with nine. Chambers' 91-yard TD catch at Southern Mississippi on Nov. 27 marked FIU's longest play from scrimmage in program history. He recorded a total of 10 catches of at least 40 yards in 2021. Chambers is the third FIU player to be named to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, joining T.Y. Hilton (2011) and Chandler Williams (2006). - FIU Football

  Florida International receiver Tyrese Chambers announced the Boilermakers have made his top five transfer destinations along with Mississippi State, Nebraska, Arizona State and Maryland. Chambers set program records for single-season receiving yards (1,074) and touchdowns (9). He ranked second nationally averaging 23.9 yards per catch.   2019 JERRY RICE AWARD WATCH LIST: Tyrese Chambers, WR, Sacred Heart: 36 receptions, 639 yards, 3 TDs (7 games),...Chambers, in eight appearances on the season, has 36 catches for 639 yards with six TDs. He leads all FCS freshman in receiving yards per game (79.9) while he is third in receiving yards (639) and receptions per game (4.5) while sitting tied for third in receiving touchdowns (six). Currently averaging 17.8 yards per catch, Chambers has been the go-to receiver for the Pioneers all season. He has posted three monsters games in his six appearances on the season, totaling at least seven catches with 130 yards and 1 TD in three games in 2019. His best game of the season came at LIU on Sept. 21 as he tallied eight catches for 144 yards with 2 TD in a 34-10 road NEC victory.

Chambers is one of 24 players named to the award's annual watch list. The Rice Award is named for the legendary Hall of Fame wide receiver and presented since 2011 to the Division I subdivision's freshman player of the year.   OCT 14 NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: TYRESE CHAMBERS, SACRED HEART, WR, Fr., 6-1, 185 lbs., Baltimore, MD/Poly Prep,...WEEK 7 Stats: 150 scrimmage yards, 7 receptions, 139 rec yards, TD reception, 11 rush yards, 2 rushes,...Chambers went over the 130-yard receiving mark on the road for the third time this season. Going up against Ivy League member Penn, the freshman pass-catcher gained 139 yards on seven receptions and also picked up 11 rush yards on two carries.

Accounting for the highest receiving total on the circuit this week, and the fourth highest of the season, Chambers averaged 19.9 yards per catch during his first-ever appearance at historic Franklin Field. The 6-foot-1 speedster turned on the burners during a 74-yard scoring play early in the fourth quarter. The sixth touchdown of Chambers' rookie campaign pulled Sacred Heart to within seven points of Penn with 11:10 remaining. Chambers owns three of the top-five single-game receiving performances in the NEC through seven weeks of the season. - Northeast Conference Football

  SEPT 23/WEEK 4 NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: TYRESE CHAMBERS, SACRED HEART, WR, Fr., 6-1, 175 lbs., Baltimore, MD/Poly,...WEEK 4 Stats: 8 receptions, 144 rec yards, 2 TD receptions,...Chambers has been a key contributor to Sacred Heart's powerful passing attack, which has yielded 1,120 yards over the past three games. Exceeding the century mark for the second week in a row, Chambers piled up 144 yards on eight receptions in the Northeast Conference opener at LIU.

The rookie receiver registered five first downs and reached pay dirt twice during the 34-10 road win. His first two receptions went for touchdowns. After going without a first-quarter catch, Chambers converted a 3rd-and-8 by cashing in on an 11-yard scoring strike with 12:06 left in the opening half. Later in the second quarter, he made a catch over the middle and turned up field for a 60-yard touchdown that gave SHU a 27-7 lead. Over the past three games, Chambers has logged 371 yards and five touchdowns on 21 receptions. - Northeast Conference Football

  SEPT 16/WEEK 3 NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: TYRESE CHAMBERS, SACRED HEART, WR, Fr., 6-1, 175 lbs., Baltimore, MD/Poly,...WEEK 3 Stats: 4 receptions, 94 rec yards, TD reception,...Chambers has established quite a connection with SHU quarterback Logan Marchi in recent weeks. Following his first career touchdown reception in a Week 2 win over Bucknell, Chambers was on the receiving end of two more Marchi scoring strikes in a 56-40 road victory over Lafayette.

The rookie receiver pulled in a game-high nine passes from Marchi while totaling 133 yards through the air. Chambers added 12 rush yards on three carries. The 6-foot-1 freshman made a 24-yard touchdown reception to pull SHU within three points of Lafayette during the final minute of the opening half. Chambers reached the end zone again in the third quarter, making a 20-yard catch to bump Sacred Heart's advantage up to 35-27. - Northeast Conference Football

The freshman receiver totaled four receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown in a 30-10 victory. His receptions went for 24, 28, 5 and 37 yards.

Chambers first catch converted a 3rd-and-9 situation and took the ball into opponent territory late in the first quarter of a scoreless game. The rookie was on the receiving end of a 28-yard scoring strike that increased the SHU lead to 17-3 with 6:26 left in the opening half. Chambers' 37-yard reception brought the Pioneers into the red zone during the final minute of the third quarter. - Northeast Conference Football
