  05/13/22 - WR Joshua MoorerSr/2023, Texas, 6-1, 168 (DS#999 WR) + More +

Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Joshua Moore will not enroll at SMU, as previously expected, according to Dallas Morning News reporter Joseph Hoyt. "Been hinting at it in some previous stories, but multiple sources indicate former Texas WR Joshua Moore is not expected to come to SMU," Hoyt tweeted. "Helps explain why SMU added two transfer WRs this week in former Texas WR Kelvontay Dixon and former Miss. State WR Teddy Knox."

The Yoakum, Texas, native originally committed to Texas Tech, then changed his mind and announced he would play for new Mustangs head coach Rhett Lashlee. Moore came into the 2021 season as the leading returning receiver for Texas and was waiting to explode under new head coach Steve Sarkisian. He was able to haul in 24 catches for 265 receiving yards and three touchdown catches on the year. Moore was a top 100 recruit coming out of high school, being ranked the No. 96 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. He was the No. 16 player at the wide receiver position and No. 9 within the state of Texas. - Dallas Morning News

  04/10/21 - WR Joshua MoorerSr/2023, Texas, 6-1, 168 (DS#999 WR) + More +

The only senior at the wideout position is Yoakum product Joshua Moore, who's coming off his best season in burnt orange. While his numbers don't jump off the page (30 receptions, 472 yards, 9 touchdowns), his performance against Colorado left most Texas fans encouraged. Moore caught two touchdowns to go along with five receptions and 85 yards in what was arguably his best game all-season since starting the year by accumulated four touchdowns and 200 yards in the first two games against UTEP and Texas Tech. But outside of an eight-reception effort against Oklahoma - a career-high - Moore largely disappeared from the Texas offense. In the final five regular-season games, Moore only caught six passes. But the good news for Texas fans is the answer for Moore's lack of production can be blamed for the offense he was playing in, rather than on him. Tom Herman's offense was rigid and lacked the imagination that can be found in Steve Sarkisian's offense. Another reason to be excited? Like Smith, expect Moore to play the X wide receiver position, but Sarkisian doesn't like to limit receivers to just one position and will move them around on the field constantly. - Austin American Statesman

  09/15/20 - WR Joshua MoorerSr/2023, Texas, 6-1, 168 (DS#999 WR) + More +

The third-year sophomore was targeted a team-high seven times and had six catches for 127 yards and the long 78-yard touchdown. Moore didn't exactly come out of nowhere, but he had played in only six career games in two years; he redshirted in 2019 after after missing all but six games of 2018 with an injury. He and Michigan graduate transfer Tarik Black (5-80-1) combined for 13 targets. That's Devin Duvernay-type of attention. - Austin American Statesman
