  Jake Chisholm clinched Dayton's 38-29 defeat of league-leading Davidson on Saturday with a 32-yard run in the fourth quarter, tying a school record with his fifth touchdown of the game. The win ended Dayton's season with three straight wins. Chisholm carried 34 times for 226 yards and also caught three passes for 36 yards. He is the seventh player for Dayton (6-4, 5-3 Pioneer Football League) to score five touchdowns in a game, first since 2008. Dayton's Ben Schmiesing recovered a Davidson fumble on the first play of the game and the Flyers Jack Cook tossed a 22-yard scoring pass to Chisholm on the very next snap. Chisholm added a 73-yard TD run, caught a 10-yard pass from Cook and added a run from the 2-yard line. Davidson (7-2, 6-1), lost a chance to clinch a share of the PFL championship and is in a first-place tie with San Diego. Louis Colosimo was 10-for-23 passing for 118 yards with two interceptions. Four ball carriers scored for the Wildcats, including Dylan Sparks, Colosimo, Aris Hillard and Coy Williams. Sparks gained 130 yards rushing, Colosimo 88 and Hillard 85. - AP College Football

  Jake Chisholm rushed for 119 yard and four touchdowns, Jack Cook passed for two scores and Dayton beat Stetson 41-13 on Saturday. Chisholm had touchdown runs of 5, 3 and 15 to help Dayton build a 21-3 lead. He added another 5-yard scores late in the fourth to cap the scoring. Sam Bubonics caught six passes for 143 yards for Dayton (5-4, 4-3 Pioneer), which closes its regular season against Davidson on Saturday. Cook was 18 of 24 for 328 yards with an interception. Bubonics caught a Chisholm pass and raced for a 67-yard touchdown to extend Dayton's lead to 28-13 early in the third quarter. Alex Piccirilli completed just 19-of-36 passes for 193 yards for Stetson (3-5, 1-4). He was intercepted once, but also carried it 18 times for 114 yards with a score. - AP College Football

  Jake Chisholm rushed for 157 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead Dayton past Butler 38-31 on Saturday. Chisholm scored three touchdowns on the ground and his 50-yard catch from Jack Cook staked Dayton to an early 7-0 lead. After Cook threw his second TD pass of the game, a 40-yard connection with Joe Swanson, the Flyers took a 24-7 lead into halftime. Chisholm's 49-yard touchdown run gave the Flyers a 38-17 lead in the third quarter before Butler responded with a 75-yard touchdown pass from Bret Bushka to Yogi Flager on the next play from scrimmage. Bushka's 1-yard run - set up by pass plays of 36 and 22 yards - drew the Bulldogs within 38-30. Dayton recovered an on-side kick but was forced to punt with 1:01 remaining. Bushka was intercepted five plays later and the Flyers ran out the clock. For Dayton (4-4, 3-3 Pioneer Football League), Cook finished with 12 completions in 21 attempts for 269 yards. For Butler (2-7, 0-6), Bushka completed 28 of 47 passes for 380 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Flager caught six passes for 125 yards, including the long touchdown, and Johnny O'Shea had 13 receptions for 161 yards. Butler out-gained Dayton 518-444 in total yards. - AP College Football

  2019 ALL-PIONEER FOOTBALL LEAGUE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): RB Jake Chisholm, Dayton,...One of the big beneficiaries of the work of the Flyer line was running back Jake Chisholm. A sophomore, Chisholm did not move into the starting lineup until the last five games of the season, and yet he was second in the PFL in rushing (1,129 yards, 112.9 yards per game). His 7.4 yards per carry average led the PFL and is second in FCS. Chisholm also leads FCS in all-purpose yardage per game (204.3 yards per game). - Dayton Football

  Jake Chisholm ran for three touchdowns, Jack Cook ran for a pair of touchdowns and Dayton beat Drake 46-29 on Saturday. The Flyers boosted their record to 7-3, 5-2 in the Pioneer Football League and forced a three-way tie for second with the Bulldogs (5-5, 5-2) and Davidson (8-3, 5-2). Drake took an early two-score lead when Ian Corwin threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Devin Cates and Drew Lauer ran it in from 13 yards. Chisholm's 9-yard run before the first quarter ended made it 14-7.

Lauer added a 9-yard run, and the 2-point conversion made it 22-7. Dayton responded when Cook ran it in from 4-yards out, and Sam Webster kicked a 23-yard field goal to reduce the margin to 22-17 with 31 seconds before halftime. The turning point came on the ensuing drive when the Bulldogs took a short kickoff and quickly moved into scoring position. Brandon Easterling picked off Corwin at the goal line and returned it the distance to end the half. The 2-point conversion made it 25-22 and the Flyers led the rest of the way. Easterling became the 11th Dayton player to intercept three passes in a game. Corwin threw for 306 yards, two scores and four interceptions. - AP College Football

  NOV 4 PIONEER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jake Chisholm, Dayton, Sophomore, Running Back, Union, Kentucky,...Chisholm rushed for a PFL 2019 best 268 yards as Dayton picked up a road PFL win, 49-35, at Morehead State, Saturday. It is the third consecutive week a PFL runner amassed more than 200 yards, Chisholm's 268 yards ranking third among all FCS runners this season. His outing in Morehead included a 113-yard third-quarter performance and the game-securing touchdown. Chisholm also had 82 yards in the first quarter and another 49 yards in the second frame. He carried the ball for 13 first downs on 35 carries and his lone reception of 12 yards also went for a first down. Chisholm finished the game with 338 all-purpose yards, including 58 yards on two kick returns. - Pioneer Football

He finished the day with four kick returns for 137 yards (34.3 yards per return) and the touchdown that gave Dayton a 28-21 lead.
