  11/01/25 - QB Cale HellumsJr/2027, Army, 5-10, 205 (DS#999 QB) + More +

Cale Hellums threw a 42-yard pass to Brady Anderson with 24 seconds left and Dawson Jones made a game-winning 27-yard field goal on the final play to give Army a 20-17 victory over Air Force on Saturday. Army (4-4) has won seven of the last nine meetings with Air Force (2-6), including three in a row - its first three-game streak in the series since 1976-78. It was a wild final two minutes. Hellums was stopped on a fourth-and-1 sneak deep in Army territory with 2:10 left. The Falcons took advantage of the great field position, and a pass interference call in the end zone, to tie it at 17-all on Liam Szarka's 2-yard sneak with 1:26 left.

Hellums started the game-winning drive with a 10-yard pass and then Army ran it four straight plays. Hellums' ninth pass attempt, and fifth completion, went to Anderson, who had run past the defense over the middle. Hellums threw for 102 yards with a touchdown, and he carried it 26 times for 98 yards and another score. Briggs Bartosh added 74 yards rushing. Szarka was 13 of 17 for 161 yards but he was intercepted twice for Air Force, which also lost a fumble for a three-turnover game. Szarka had two touchdowns on the ground and 91 yards. Air Force had not scored a touchdown against Army in 32 straight possessions until Szarka's 3-yard run midway through the third quarter to tie it at 10-all. - Army/AP College Football

Cale Hellums accounted for three touchdowns that included a 14-yard touchdown run with 2:52 left to help Army beat Kansas State 24-21 on Saturday night. Kansas State's (1-2) final drive ended when Avery Johnson threw an interception just past midfield. The Black Knights (1-1) kept the ball on the ground, running the ball 70 times out of their 82 offensive plays. Army had four scoring drives of at least 13 plays, including three which took at least seven minutes, and outgained K-State 332-247 in total yards.

Hellums completed 7 of 11 passes and ran 41 times for 124 yards. He tossed a 2-yard touchdown pass to Brady Anderson to end the first half. Hellums later added a 1-yard TD run late in the third quarter that gave the Black Knights a 14-13 lead, but Bryce Noernberg returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards into the end zone and K-State regained the lead, 21-13. Army held a 40:44 to 19:16 advantage in time of possession and is the first K-State opponent to rush for more than 200 yards since late in the 2023 season. Johnson finished 15-of-25 passing for 172 yards and threw one touchdown pass to Jaron Tibbs for the Wildcats. Tibbs finished with five catches for 61 yards. - Army/AP College Football
