Cameron Peters accounted for 394 yards and two touchdowns and Prairie View A&M beat Jackson State 23-21 on Saturday to win its first Southwestern Athletic Conference championship since 2009. Peters was 17-of-28 passing for 294 yards with a 40-yard touchd own pass to Cameron Bonner. Peters finished with 100 yards rushing that included a 7-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Panthers chewed up 9:36 of the fourth quarter with a 16-play, 95-yard drive before Peters fumbled the ball at the 1, but Jac kson State punted the ball back three plays later. On the ensuing possession, Peters ran up the middle for a 12-yard gain to convert on third-and-8 from near midfield with 2:14 remaining. The Panthers then ran out the clock. Diego Alfaro kicked field goa ls from 19, 30 and 42 yards for Prairie View A&M (10-3). Jared Lockhart threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ja'Naylon Dupree for Jackson State (9-3). JaCobian Morgan scored on a 29-yard run. Ahmad Miller ended the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run late i n the third quarter. It was Jackson State's ninth appearance in the title game but for just the second time against Prairie View A&M. The Tigers won the previous championship matchup, 27-10 in 2021. - AP College Football

WEEK 11 SWAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Prairie View A&M's Cameron Peters turned in a career performance to lead the Panthers to a dominant 48-5 road victory over Alabama A&M. He was impressive through the air while completing 17-of-22 passes for 394 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. Cameron Peters accounted for three touchdowns, Chase Bingmon had two of Prairie View's five rushing TDs and Prairie View A&M beat Mississippi Valley State 59-6 on Saturday night in the regular-season finale for both teams. PVAMU (7-3, 7-1 Southwestern At hletic Conference) plays Jackson State in the conference championship game on Dec. 6. Mississippi Valley State (1-10, 0-7) has lost five games in a row. Peters was 12-of-16 passing for 234 yards with touchdown passes to Travon Jones and Jyzaiah Rockwell and added a 7-yard rushing touchdown. Bingmon had 81 yards rushing on seven carries and scored on runs of 1 yard late in the first quarter and 25 yards early in the second that made it 21-0.Travor Randle returned an interception 33 yards for a tou chdown, Lamagea McDowell scored on a 6-yard run and wide receiver Andre Dennis took a jet sweep 51 yards for a TD that made it 56-0 midway through the third quarter. Adonis Jackson blocked a punt by PVAMU's Adam Atwell, scooped it up at the 10 and return ed it for a touchdown to get the Delta Devils on the scoreboard with 2:49 remaining in the third. Cameron Peters passed for 394 yards and five touchdowns - three of them to Jyzaiah Rockwell - and Prairie View A&M rolled to a 48-5 victory over Alabama A&M on Saturday. Prairie View A&M (7-3, 5-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) did all of its scoring in the final three quarters after David Faulk's 33-yard field goal gave Alabama A&M (4-6, 1-5) a 3-0 lead. Chase Bingmon was tackled in the end zone to give the Bulldogs a 5-0 lead early in the second quarter. Peters connected with Ja'Koby Banks for a 39 -yard go-ahead touchdown and then hit Rockwell for a 39-yard score on the final play of the first half for a 13-5 lead.Peters had scoring throws covering 27 and 9 yards to Rockwell in the third quarter and a 56-yarder to Chaney Fitzgerald in the f ourth. Fitzgerald's catch came in between touchdown runs by Andre Dennis and Shadrick Byrd. Peters, a senior, completed 17 of 22 passes in setting career highs for yards and TD throws in a single game. Rockwell had eight catches for 183 yards and the thr ee scores, all personal bests for the junior. Eric Handley completed half of his 36 passes for 101 yards for Alabama A&M. - AP College Football

Cameron Peters threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, Chase Bingmon added two rushing touchdowns, and Prairie View A&M beat Lincoln University (California) 38-0 on Saturday. The Panthers (6-2) led 24-0 lead after the first quarter, with 1- and 17- yard scoring runs from Bingmon. The game entered a weather delay during the third quarter and was suspended for an hour and 22 minutes. Peters went 11 of 18 for 243 yards. His 19-yard run in the third quarter made it 31-0. Jyzaiah Rockwell led Prairie Vi ew receivers with 104 yards, including a 70-yard score in the fourth quarter. Lincoln had just 63 total yards of offense. - AP College Football
