Despite not being on Ohio State football's roster heading into the 2022 season, Harry Miller is still putting in work. The former Buckeye offensive lineman tweeted that he had lost 60 pounds since March 31 and is 260 pounds after four months of training , and that he had "finally achieved" a sub six-minute mile. "Sic Parvis Magna," Miller tweeted, quoting Sir Francis Drake, which translates to "Thus great things from small things." Miller, a former five-star offensive lineman in Ohio State's 2019 class , announced March 11 he would medically retire from football due to mental health concerns after contemplating suicide. In a Twitter statement, Miller said that prior to the 2021 season, he told Ohio State coach Ryan Day of his intention to kill hi mself. "He immediately had me in touch with Dr. Candice (Williams) and Dr. (Josh) Norman, and I received the support I needed. After a few weeks, I tried my luck at football once again, with scars on my wrists and throat. "…There was a dead man on the television set, but nobody knew it. "At the time, I would rather be dead than a coward. I'd rather be nothing at all, than have to explain everything that was wrong. I was planning on being reduced to my initials on a back of a helmet." Day, whose father died by suicide when he was 8, has made adolescent mental health a passion project off the field, adding a staff of psychologists to the Ohio State football staff to help players with mental health issues. - Columbus Dispatch

Harry Miller is expected to replace Josh Myers at center this upcoming season for Ohio State, and he will use the status that gives him to help the needy in Nicaragua. When Ohio State offensive lineman Harry Miller was in middle school, he took a mission trip to Nicaragua with a church group from suburban Atlanta. It left a lasting impression. Getting a glimpse of the country's extreme poverty, he was inspired to return and provide further aid. "As a kid in America, you don't really appreciate how good it is until you go someplace else and you see plastic houses made of scrap cardboard and wood and tin and plastic sheeting that are basically one room with dirt floors and maybe a bed, maybe not," said his mother, Kristina, who accompanied him.Ove r the past seven years, Miller has traveled nearly a dozen times to Nicaragua on similar trips. He brought along teammate Tommy Eichenberg as recently as last year, prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. So as it became permissible this month fo r college athletes to profit off their name, image and likeness, Miller had an idea. He started an online pop-up store selling t-shirts, sweatshirts and baseball caps that feature a logo of his personal brand. The logo includes the letter "H" within a cu rved shield. All of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to Mission for Nicaragua, a nonprofit for which Miller is one of five board members and which was formed by members of Miller's church group. - Columbus Dispatch

One of Ohio State football's returning offensive line starters is not expected to practice in full this spring. Buckeyes coach Ryan Day said junior Harry Miller is not cleared for contact and probably will not be for all of spring drills. He did not spec ify the nature of Miller's injury. Ohio State will hold its first spring practice in pads on Wednesday. Miller started Ohio State's first six games last season as a sophomore - five at left guard and one at center in place of starter Josh Myers. He misse d the College Football Playoff semifinal against Clemson after testing positive for coronavirus. He did not start against Alabama in the national championship but did play.It has been presumed that Miller will shift back to center, his original po sition, since Myers left school early to enter the NFL Draft. When asked about Miller's possible shift to center, Day reiterated OSU's need to find the best five offensive linemen and said versatility is a strength. "Now, how does that fit in terms of po sition specificity? That's what it comes down to in terms of figuring that out over the spring," Day said. "But the more that guys can do, the more roles, the more value that they have." - Cleveland Plain Dealer
