Austin Day threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns and Marist forced six turnovers to pull away from Presbyterian 57-32 on Saturday. The scoring outburst was the most points in a game for the Red Foxes (5-4, 5-2 Pioneer Football League) dating to the 199 8 season. The teams combined for more than 1,000 yards of offense with Presbyterian posting 536 yards to Marists' 484. Ren Hefley completed 36 of 56 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns for the Blue Hose (2-8, 0-7), but was picked off four times. He fley gave Presbyterian an 8-0 lead on the game's opening possession with a 7-yard pass to Kiaran Turner. Marist scored three unanswered touchdowns to take a 33-14 lead into halftime with Mekhai Johnson running in from the 22, and Day passing to Sydney Pe rson from 22 and then to Brett Landis from 33 yards out. The Red Foxes never trailed in the second half with Presbyterian only getting within 20 points early in the final period on Delvecchio Powell's 12-yard rush. Powell carried 14 times for 115 yards a nd two touchdowns for Presbyterian. Jalyn Witcher caught five passes for 136 yards - his sixth 100-yard game this season. - AP College Football

Austin Day found Hunter Cobb with a 10-yard pass in the final 10 seconds of the third quarter as Marist broke a scoreless tie against Drake, 7-0, on Saturday. Teddy Wright's third-down sack of Drake's Ian Corwin helped Marist (4-4, 4-2 Pioneer Football L eague) preserve the shutout, a first at Tenney Field since 2013 against Stetson (27-0). One play after the sack, a Drake 49-yard field goal attempt went awry when the kick caromed off the helmet of a Drake lineman and sling-shotted all the way back to th e Bulldogs 30-yard line, where it was recovered by Marist's Mike Arrington.A Drake (2-6, 1-4) goal-line stand got the ball back with no timeouts at 2:29 of the fourth, but the Red Foxes made a stand of their own and forced a turnover on downs in f our plays to end the game in victory formation. Day completed 21 of 28 passes for 186 yards, spreading the ball around to nine receivers. Corwin went 13-for-27 passing for 144 yards with an interception. The Bulldogs, who had not played in two weeks afte r a bye and a COVID-caused cancellation, gained 144 yards rushing. Mekhai Johnson scored two touchdowns in the second quarter - one on a 91-yard kickoff return - and Marist held off Dayton 20-17 on Saturday. Dayton, after cutting the gap to three points, launched a drive from its own 10 and got across midfield as time w as running out. But after reaching a third-and-2 at the Marist 43, the Red Foxes defense denied Dayton a first down, stuffing Jake Chisholm for no gain and then forcing Jack Cook to throw incomplete into tight coverage on fourth down. Austin Day was 13 o f 26 passing for Marist (3-2, 3-0 Pioneer Football League), which has won its last three games. Luke Palladino kicked field goals of 44 and 29 yards. Cook went 21 of 29 for 217 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The touchdown pass, a 13-yarder t o Sam Bubonics, was his 60th, placing him as Dayton's all-time leader in TD passes thrown. Austin Day passed for 276 yards and two touchdowns and Kyle Coffindaffer had a 31-yard interception return score as Marist breezed to a 34-3 victory over Stetson in Pioneer Football League action on Saturday. The Red Foxes (2-2, 2-0) were leading 10-0 - on a 29-yard field goal by Luke Paladino and a 1-yard TD run by Hunter Cobb - in the first quarter when Coffindaffer picked off John Seter and returned it for a TD and a 17-0 lead with 45 seconds left.Day connected with Dwayne Menders for a 13-yar d TD and a 24-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Menders finished with 10 receptions for 142 yards, including seven catches for 116 yards in the first half. Day and Brandon Lysick connected for a 6-yard TD in the third quarter and Paladino added a 41-yard field goal in the final quarter to cap the scoring for Marist. Day completed 22 of 31 passes. Cameron Gillis had a 27-yard field goal in the second quarter for the Hatters (2-3, 0-2). Jordan Younge-Humphrey rushed for 93 yards on 14-3 carries. - AP College Football

Austin Day fired a 25-yard scoring strike to Max Mazzella on first down in overtime and Marist picked up its first win of the season with a 27-24 victory over Valparaiso in the Red Foxes' Pioneer Football League opener on Saturday. Hunter Cobb had nine c arries for 122 yards and two touchdowns - on runs of 19 and 45 yards - to help the Red Foxes (1-2, 1-0) take a 13-7 lead into halftime. Valparaiso got on the scoreboard when Robert Washington's 1-yard TD run tied the game at 7-7 midway through the first quarter.Day connected with Brett Landis for a 36-yard score and a 21-7 lead after three quarters. Washington's second TD run from a yard out pulled Valparaiso within 21-14 just 1:12 into the fourth quarter and Nick Orekoya knotted the score with a 1-yard scoring run with just under 10 minutes left in regulation. The Beacons (1-4, 1-1) got the ball first in OT but had to settle for Brian Bartholomew's 25-yard field goal. Mazzella ended the game with his only catch of the day. Day finished 10-of-19 passing for 149 yards for Marist. Cobb carried 18 times for 141 yards. Ben Nimz completed 15 of 25 passes for 193 yards with two interceptions for the Beacons. Hunter Cobb rushed for a career-high 178 yards and two touchdowns and Marist defeated Davidson 27-21 on Saturday. Cobb, a redshirt freshman who entered the game with 22 carries for 47 yards this season, carried 17 times and scored on third-quarter runs o f 89 and 15 yards as the Red Foxes (2-5, 2-2 Pioneer League) built a 24-7 lead. Davidson (5-3, 2-2) rallied with two fourth-quarter touchdowns - a 15-yard pass from Tyler Phelps to Aris Hilliard and a 5-yard run by Wesley Dugger. After Dugger's touchdown with 7:22 remaining, Marist went on an 11-play, 75-yard drive that used almost six minutes and ended with Luke Paladino's 24-yard field goal. Davidson couldn't reach midfield on the final drive. Austin Day completed 14 of 22 passes for 148 yards and a t ouchdown for Marist. Phelps completed 13 of 27 for 199 yards and two touchdowns for Davidson. Dugger, who averages 115 rushing yards per game, had 17 carries for 83 yards and the one touchdown. - AP College Football
