OCT 28 BIG SKY SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Weber State kicker Trey Tuttle tied a Weber State school record with five made field goals in the Wildcats' 36-20 win at No. 22 UC Davis. He was a perfect 5 of 5 on field goals and connected on field goals of 38, 38, 20, 27 and 39 yards. Tuttle connected on four-straight field goals during a stretch of the second and third quarters. He was also a perfect 3 of 3 on extra points, giving him 18 points on the day to account for half of Weber State's 36 points. Tuttle added eight kickoffs for an average of 61.4 yards per kick and had two touchbacks. Tuttle's five made field goals is tied for the most of any player in the country this season. Trey Tuttle kicked five field goals to help Weber State beat UC Davis 36-20 on Saturday night and remain undefeated in the Big Sky Conference. Weber State (6-2, 4-0), ranked fourth in the STATS FCS Top 25, is tied with Sacramento State atop the conference standings. The Hornets host Weber State next Saturday. No. 22 UC Davis (4-5, 2-3) had its two-game win streak snapped and next plays at Portland State on Nov. 9.

Josh Davis and Kevin Smith had touchdown runs for the Wildcats. Jake Constantine was 25-of-39 passing for 275 yards and threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Devon Cooley that stretched Weber State's lead to 36-14 with 3:44 remaining. Cooley finished with seven catches for 104 yards. Tuttle made all five of his attempts from inside the 40. Jaylin White scored on a 100-yard kickoff return in the first quarter for UC Davis. Jake Maier threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Jared Harrell to pull the Aggies to 19-14 midway through the third quarter. - AP College Football

OCT 21 BIG SKY CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Josh Davis rushed for a career-high and nation's best this season of 328 yards in No. 4/5 Weber State's 51-28 victory over Northern Arizona. Battling the wind and rain in addition to the Lumberjack defense, Davis finished with the fifth-most rushing yards in a single-game in Big Sky history. Davis' performance was the first 300-yard rushing performance in the Big Sky since 2005. The sophomore registered four rushing touchdowns, including a long 54-yard score 44 seconds into the game. Josh Davis ran for a school-record 328 yards and four touchdowns and fourth-ranked Weber State pulled away with three fourth-quarter touchdowns to beat Northern Arizona 51-28 on Saturday. Davis, the 2018 Jerry Rice Award winner, carried it 34 times and scored a touchdown in each quarter. Kris Jackson added 22 runs for 111 yards and three touchdowns for the Wildcats (5-2, 3-0 Big Sky Conference), who won their fourth straight. Weber State trailed 21-14 at halftime before outscoring the Lumberjacks 37-7 in the second half. Jackson capped a 16-point third quarter with an 8-yard run that made it 30-21 for the Wildcats.

Northern Arizona (3-4, 1-2) cut the deficit to 30-28 on Case Cookus' 44-yard TD pass to Hendrix Johnson on the first play of the fourth quarter. Weber State closed it out with three straight touchdown runs, two by Jackson and one by Davis. Cookus finished 20 of 34 for 359 yards and four touchdowns. Stacy Chukwumezie caught three passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns, including a 94-yard TD reception to give the Lumberjacks a 21-14 lead with 34 seconds left in the half. - AP College Football

Kevin Smith had 16 carries for 108 yards, the Weber State defense had four interceptions, and the Wildcats beat Southern Utah 29-14 on Saturday night. Kaden Jenks was 13-of-22 passing for 132 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown pass to David Ames that gave Weber State the lead for good with 5:28 left in the third quarter. B.J. Taufalele returned an interception 22 yards to the Southern Utah 38 to set up the go-ahead touchdown.

The Thunderbirds (1-6, 0-3 Big Sky Conference) were forced to punt on their next possession and Weber State answered with a seven-play, 53-yard drive capped by Adam Rodriguez's 3-yard scoring run that made it 20-7 early in the fourth quarter. Marque Collin picked off a pass three plays later and Kris Jackson's 1-yard TD run made it 26-7 after a failed attempt at a 2-point conversion with 9:56 to play. Chris Helbig completed 23 of 42 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns for Southern Utah. Kris Jackson's late touchdown gave Weber State the points it needed to hold off Idaho 41-35 on Saturday. Idaho (2-4, 0-2 Big Sky) got within 34-28 on Mason Petrino's 1-yard run with 3:19 to go before Jackson scored the necessary insurance touchdown on an 18-yard run. The Vandals followed Jackson's score with a 97-yard kickoff return by Nick Romano but an ensuing onside bounded out of bounds.

Doug Lloyd, the holder on field goal attempts, took a snap and went 30 yards untouched on a fake for a 34-21 Wildcats lead late in the third quarter. Lloyd also ran for a first down on a fake punt to keep a drive alive that resulted in a score earlier in the quarter. Jackson had 84 yards to lead a 225-yard rushing attack for the Wildcats (3-2, 1-0), ranked fifth in the FCS coaches poll. SEPT 30/WEEK 5 BIG SKY SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Weber State's Doug Lloyd had seven punts for an average of 46.7 yards per punt to aid Weber State in a 29-17 win over nationally-ranked Northern Iowa. He also had a career-long punt of 72 yards in the third quarter that pinned the Panthers at the two-yard line. Five of the seven punts for Lloyd landed inside the 20-yard line and three of his punts ended at the UNI two-yard line. A 20-point first quarter proved to be too much for Northern Iowa to overcome as Weber State came away with a 29-17 victory. The Wildcasts opened the game with 17 unanswered points and held on until the finish, moving up one spot to No. 5 in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25 Poll. With the loss, Northern Iowa fell six spots to No. 13. North Dakota State still sits No. 1 following their bye week. James Madison defeated then-No. 24 Elon, 45-10, and remains at No. 2, followed by No. 3 South Dakota State and No. 4 Kennesaw State.

Stony Brook has checked into the Top 25 for the first time in 2019 following their 31-27 victory over Rhode Island, and comes in at No. 24. The Seawolves are joined by fellow newcomers Houston Baptist and Southeast Missouri State, who are tied at the No. 25 spot. The biggest Top 25 matchup this coming weekend is a Missouri Valley Conference battle as No. 1 North Dakota State travels to No. 6 Illinois State. Kaden Jenks hit Rashid Shaheed for a 73-yard touchdown on Weber State's first play from scrimmage and the Wildcats led the rest of the way in their 29-17 win over Northern Iowa on Saturday night. Jenks finished 19-of-29 passing for 219 yards and two touchdowns in a battle between two of the top teams in the Football Championship Subdivision. Weber State (2-2), which came in ranked No. 6 in the FCS Coaches poll, scored on its first five drives to open a 27-3 lead midway through the second quarter.

Following Shaheed's touchdown, the seventh-ranked Panthers fumbled the kickoff and Trey Tuttle's 25-yard field goal extended the lead. Then, just three plays later, Brody Burke picked off a pass from Will McElvain to set up Kris Jackson's 2-yard touchdown run that made it 17-0 less than 10 minutes into the game. Matthew Cook made a 35-yard field goal to get Northern Iowa (2-2) on the board with 3:27 left in the first quarter, but Tuttle made a 41-yarder about 2 ½ minutes later and Jenks hit Justin Malone for a 13-yard touchdown with 8:30 left in the second quarter. SEPT 9 BIG SKY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Weber State running back Josh Davis led the Wildcats with 14 carries for 129 yards and two touchdowns in Weber State's 41-24 win over Cal Poly. He had a 22-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and an 18-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. The sophomore averaged 9.2 yards per carry. Davis also had five receptions for 35 yards, giving him 164 all-purpose yards.

King recorded the game-saving tackle and forced a fumble in the process at the goal-line with 0:02 left in the fourth quarter to preserve UC Davis' road win at San Diego. The sophomore helped lift the Aggies to a 38-35 win against the Toreros. King hit the Torero running back right at the goal line, forcing the ball loose before he could break the plane. The ball was recovered by UC Davis in the end zone for a touchback, saving the 3-point victory. In addition to the heart-stopping play, King had 7 tackles (5 solo, 2 assists) and an interception in the win.
