It's a tradition unlike any other. Auburn announced the date for its 2023 A-Day spring game, and unsurprisingly, it coincides with the Saturday of the Masters Tournament. That has often been the case over the years, including last year, and it will again be the case this spring as the Tigers hold their annual spring game on April 8 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. This year's A-Day game will mark the culmination of the Tigers' first spring under new head coach Hugh Freeze, who was hired in late November and task ed with resurrecting a program that fell on hard time during a less-than-two-year tenure under Bryan Harsin.Freeze retooled the coaching staff, retaining only Cadillac Williams and Zac Etheridge as assistants, and has overhauled the roster with 17 incoming freshmen and a transfer haul featuring a dozen more players; the Tigers' recruiting class ranks 18th nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite team rankings, while its transfer class ranks fourth. Auburn will be allotted 15 practices dur ing the spring, and while an official start date has yet to be announced, the Tigers are likely to return to the field in early March. It will all lead to A-Day on April 8, which typically includes a full, split-squad scrimmage inside Jordan-Hare Stadium . - Birmingham News
