  Stone Earle accounted for four touchdowns, and Javon Gipson caught two of them for Abilene Christian in a 38-20 win over Lamar in the first round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday. Jordon Vaughn opened the Wildcats' tally with a 14-yard run on the opening drive of the game. He had a game-high 96 rushing yards on 15 attempts. Earle found Raydrian Baltrip on an 18-yard connection, and Gipson for 22 yards, to put the Wildcats up 24-0 early in the second quarter. He connected with Gipson again on a 26-yard touchdown early in the fourth.

Earle was 25-of-31 passing with 308 yards and an interception. He had a six-yard rushing score in the first minute of the fourth quarter. Gipson had nine catches for 164 yards. Aiden McCown was 15 of 31 for 266 yards and two touchdowns for the Cardinals (8-5). He found the first on a 77-yard strike to Izaha Jones late in the third quarter, and the second to Jaydn Girard with 34 seconds remaining. McCown added a rushing touchdown, finishing with rushing 47 yards on 14 attempts. The No. 10 seed Wildcats (9-4) will face No. 7 Stephen F.   Gavin Garcia rushed for a career-high 151 yards and the game-winning score as Kent State rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Northern Illinois, 35-31 on Friday in the season finale for both teams. The Golden Flashes (5-7, 4-4 Mid-American Conference) trailed 31-20 early in the final quarter, but Cade Wolford broke free for a 31-yard rushing score to cut the deficit to one possession. Kent State forced a punt and took the lead for good on Garcia's 26-yard rush with 4:11 left in regulation.

Dru DeShields was 11-of-22 passing for 207 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Dashawn Martin caught three passes for 91 yards and a score, and Wayne Harris had three catches for 46 yards. It was the first win for the Flashes at Northern Illinois since Sept. 25, 1966, breaking a 59-year drought. Northern Illinois (3-9, 2-6) was paced by Chavon Wright's 185 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 30 carries, and Jalen Macon added 65 yards and two scores on 17 carries.   Georgia coach Kirby Smart dismissed backup offensive lineman Nyier Daniels on Monday, a day after his arrest after allegedly driving more than 150 mph while attempting to flee police in Commerce, Georgia. Daniels, from Newark, New Jersey, faces more than a dozen criminal charges and was being held Monday on $21,000 bond in the Jackson County Jail in Jefferson, Georgia. Daniels faces two felony counts of second-degree cruelty to children and two felony counts of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, according to a police incident report obtained by ESPN. According to the report, Daniels fled police with two of his younger siblings in the car. He faces 10 additional traffic-related misdemeanors, including reckless driving and driving at maximum limits. "[I] have not had a chance to talk to him or his family, but obviously he will no longer be with us," Smart told reporters during a news conference Monday. - ESPN College Football

  Quarterback Stone Earle accounted for five touchdowns and E.J. Wilson ran for 138 yards, and Abilene Christian clinched the United Athletic Conference title beating Central Arkansas 49-28 on Saturday. Abilene Christian (8-4, 7-1) owns the tiebreaker over Tarleton State (11-1, 7-1), thanks to the Wildcats' dramatic 31-28 win over the Texans on Nov. 1. It's ACU second straight UAC title. Earle completed 30 of 37 for 310 yards and two touchdowns and reached the end zone with three rushing touchdowns.

Caleb Koger completed 24 of 38 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns but suffered three interceptions for Central Arkansas (3-9, 2-6). Malachi Henry had 142 yards receiving on seven receptions with two touchdowns for Central Arkansas. The Bears built a 21-13 lead by halftime before Abilene Christian blew it open with a 29-point third quarter. Earle crashed in from the 1 and ran in the two-point conversion, threw a 39-yard touchdown to Javon Gipson, Tyson Williams had a 71-yard punt return and Earle threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Bryan Henry all in a six-minute span of the third for a 42-21 lead. - AP College Football

  Javon Gipson caught a go-ahead touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter, Brandon Perez kicked three field goals, and Kaghen Roach was involved in three sacks to lead Abilene Christian past Eastern Kentucky 17-10 on Saturday. After Perez kicked his third of the day to tie the game at 10 apiece, Chris Wright strip-sacked Myles Burkett and Roach fell on the ball. Three plays later, Stone Earle found Gipson for a 6-yard, go-ahead strike with 4:08 remaining. Earle hit Jed Castles for a successful two-point conversion.

Gipson led the Wildcats (FCS No. 20, 7-4, 6-1 United Athletic) with 100 yards on six catches. Earle was 23-of-41 passing for 226 yards. Roach led a six-sack day for the Wildcats defense, netting 2.5 for himself, along with two quarterback hurries. Burkett was 10 of 20 for 165 yards for the Colonels (4-7, 2-5 UAC). Their offense was held to 165 total yards with just 10 on the ground. Their scores came from a fumble and a turnover on downs.   Mabrey Mettauer threw a touchdown pass and the Sam Houston special teams scored two second-half touchdowns to help the Bearkats beat Oregon State 21-17 on Saturday night and snap an eight-game losing streak. Sam Houston (1-8) avoided the first 0-9 start to a season in program history and Bearkats first-year coach Phil Longo got his first win as a head coach since Nov. 12, 2005, when he was at La Salle.

Mettauer hit Chris Reed for a 35-yard touchdown with 1:14 left in the second quarter that trimmed Sam Houston's deficit to 17-7 at halftime. Tim Burns Jr. returned the opening kickoff of the second half 98 yards for a touchdown and Lyric Smith blocked a punt that Brody Henderson scooped up and ran 31 yards for a TD that gave the Bearkats a 21-17 lead with 8:29 to play. Sam Houston had just eight first downs and was outgained 474-157 total yards. Anthony Hankerson had 33 carries for 166 yards and two touchdowns for Oregon State (2-7) and David Wells Jr. had nine receptions for 112 yards.   Samari Collier raced for an 85-yard touchdown on Coastal Carolina's first play from scrimmage and he threw three more scores in the Chanticleers' 40-27 win over Georgia State on Saturday night. Collier tossed a pair of TD passes to Karmello English and another to Robby Washington, though he only threw for only 120 yards on 11-of-18 passing. But his big run led to a 123-yard rushing night on 10 carries.

Kian Afrookhteh's three second-quarter field goals put Coastal Carolina (6-3, 5-1 Sun Belt Conference) up 23-14 at halftime. Collier's TD throws of 3 and 31 yards to English made it 40-14 early in the fourth. English finished with four catches for 63 yards. TJ Finley and Cameran Brown combined for 293 yards passing and a touchdown apiece for Georgia State. Finley was picked off by Ja'Marion Wayne to end Georgia State's final drive. Jordan Simmons rushed for 99 yards on 20 carries with a TD for the Panthers (1-8, 0-5). Ted Hurst had 165 yards on 10 catches with a score.   Dorian Plumley had two interceptions, including one for a touchdown return, Zion Fonua added his own pick-six, and Abilene Christian rolled past Utah Tech 31-10 on Saturday. The FCS coaches poll No. 20 Wildcats (6-4, 5-1 United Athletic Conference) broke the deadlock on Fonua's 16-yard return with 12:48 left in the second quarter. The Trailblazers (2-8, 1-5) evened the score on a 7-yard Asa Chatman rush, before Plumley retook the lead on his 10-yard return with 3:43 left in the first half.

Plumley's second interception - and third of the season - came in the fourth quarter, setting up a 31-yard field goal for Brandon Perez. EJ Wilson Jr. had the first offensive touchdown for the Wildcats on a 36-yard scamper late in the third quarter. He had 15 carries for 96 yards. Backup quarterback Quayde Hawkins found Raydrian Baltrip for a 16-yard touchdown with 3:03 left in the game to give the Wildcats their decisive 21-point cushion.   Brandon Perez made a 47-yard field goal as time expired and Abilene Christian avoided collapse with a 31-28 win over United Athletic Conference foe Tarleton State on Saturday night. Stone Earle threw for 202 yards and a touchdown and ran for another as Abilene Christian handed Tarleton State, ranked second in the FCS coaches' poll, its first loss of the season. Rovaughn Banks Jr. ran for 83 yards on 10 carries with two touchdowns and E.J. Wilson had 105 yards running on 10 carries for the Wildcats (5-4, 4-1). Victor Gabalis completed 25 of 46 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns for the Texans (9-1, 5-1). Cody Jackson caught seven passes for 134 yards and a touchdown for Tarleton State.

Abilene Christian took a 28-10 lead into the fourth after Earle ran it in from the 9 as time expired to end the third quarter. Early in the fourth, Gabalis threw a 25-yard touchdown to Jackson to reduce the lead to 28-18 after the two-point conversion. Brad Larson's 34-yard field goal reduced the deficit to 28-21, and Tarleton State tied it when Daniel Greek ran it in from the 1 with 56 seconds left at the end of an eight-play, 72-yard drive that lasted just under two minutes. On the first play following the ensuing kickoff, Earle threw a 38-yard completion to Bryan Henry to help set up Perez's game-winning kick. - AP College Football

  Samari Collier threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns, and he ran for 75 yards and two more scores to lead Coastal Carolina past Marshall 44-27 on Thursday night for its third straight victory. Coastal Carolina trailed 27-17 with 12:46 left in the third quarter before scoring 27 unanswered points. Marshall was undone by five turnovers, including one on four straight drives in the second half.

Collier capped a three-and two-play drive - about a minute apart - with a 69-yard touchdown to Malcolm Gillie and a 17-yarder to Bryson Graves to go ahead 31-27. Collier's 1-yard touchdown run ended a three-play, 40-yard drive with 8:08 remaining to cap the scoring. Dominic Knicely added a rushing touchdown and 76 yards on five carries for Coastal Carolina (5-3, 4-1 Sun Belt), which has scored 40-plus in four conference games this season.   George Hart III had a short touchdown run on the second possession of overtime and Rodney Tisdale Jr. found Moussa Barry in the end zone for a game-winning 2-point conversion to give Western Kentucky a 28-27 victory over Louisiana Tech on Tuesday night. Western Kentucky (6-2, 4-1 Conference USA) became bowl eligible for the seventh straight season. WKU and Louisiana Tech both blocked a field-goal attempt in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime tied at 20-all. Louisiana Tech took its first lead of the game in overtime on Andrew Burnette's short run.

Tisdale, in his first career start, had key completions on fourth-and-10 and third-and-7 to keep the final drive going. Tisdale was 21 of 34 for 227 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also carried it 12 times for 73 yards. Blake Baker was 31 of 45 for 340 yards with a touchdown and interception for Louisiana Tech (4-3, 2-2). Jack Cassidy made a 53-yard field goal in the first half and John Cannon added a 47-yarder to help Western Kentucky take a 20-7 lead at the break. The half ended when Louisiana Tech mishandled a snap on a field-goal attempt from 23-yards out. Louisiana Tech began the second half with a trick play. He also netted a new career-high with 78 rushing yards on nine carries (8.7 YPC). During the game, the redshirt-senior quarterback reached several career milestones, surpassing 3,000 passing yards at ACU while topping 4,000 passing yards for his college career.   Stone Earle threw three touchdown passes for Abilene Christian to dispatch West Georgia 30-13 in a United Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. West Georgia's early 6-3 lead in the second quarter evaporated within six minutes. Earle found JB Mitchell for an 8-yard touchdown, and Jordon Vaughn ran in a 3-yard score after a West Georgia three-and-out to make it 17-6 at the half.

Earle was 21 of 32 passing for 241 yards, finding Chidubem Lebechi and JJ Henry for his second-half touchdowns. He led the Wildcats with 82 rushing yards on 21 attempts.
