  Eric Rodriguez threw two of his three touchdown passes to Andrew Armstrong and Texas A&M-Commerce shut out McNeese in the second half in a 40-15 victory on Saturday night. Rodriguez was 24-of-35 passing for 268 yards. Armstrong had nine catches for 113 yards receiving. The pair connected on an 8-yard score to pull to 15-14 with 4:30 remaining in the second quarter. Emmanuel Adagbon's 42-yard field goal just before the break gave Texas A&M-Commerce (4-2, 2-0 Southland Conference) the lead for good. Knox Kadum threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Josh Matthews and Deonta McMahon ran for a 1-yard score for McNeese (1-5, 0-2).   Following a two-game absence, Eric Rodriguez threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns and Texas A&M Commerce beat Southeastern Louisiana 31-28 on Saturday in the Lion's first-ever Southland Conference contest. With a 31-28 lead with 4:44 left, the Lions (3-2, 1-0) put together a 15-play drive, marched to the Southeastern 12 and time expired for their first win over a Division I opponent this season. It was Southeastern Louisiana's (3-3, 1-1) first loss against an FCS opponent this year. On the first play from from scrimmage after halftime, Rodriguez connected with Andrew Armstrong for a 77-yard touchdown pass that put the Lions ahead 17-14 and they never trailed again. Rodriguez connected again with Armstrong from 4 yards out with 8:22 remaining for a 31-21 advantage. Southeastern Louisiana responded with a 13-play, 64-yard drive to reduce the deficit to three when Carlos Washington Jr. ran it in from the 1 with 4:44 left. Armstrong finished with 153 receiving yards on eight receptions and Kennedy Snell caught six passes for 113 yards and a score.   Zadock Dinkelmann threw three touchdown passes to Andrew Armstrong and Texas A&M-Commerce staked NAIA-member North American University to a 3-0 lead before scoring 63 unanswered points for a 63-3 non-conference win on Saturday night. Texas A&M-Commerce (2-2) held the Stallions to just 18 total yards, allowing just 13 yards rushing on 24 carries and forcing nine punts. J.T. Smith carried three times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions ran for 242 yards on 33 collective carries and scored six touchdowns on the ground.   The Texas A&M University-Commerce football team participated in its first Southland Conference Media Day, presented by BuyB1.com, on Wednesday morning at the L'Auberge Casino & Resort, previewing the Lions' first season in the conference and NCAA Division I. The first football media day as members of Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) for the Lions began with a social media photoshoot, followed by recording several public service announcements (PSAs) for the conference. The Lion trio of coach David Bailiff, running back J.T. Smith (Klein Oak), and linebacker Dee Walker (Moultrie, Ga.) appeared on the ESPN+ live broadcast.   2021 LONE STAR CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Kader Kohou, Texas A&M-Commerce,...Kohou is named to all-conference team for the third time in his career and second time to the first team. This is his first career player of the year award. He started all 11 games and made 24 tackles and six pass breakups. He also had two tackles for loss. Kohou contributed in the return game with five returns for 44 yards and caught a 40-yard pass on Senior Day. He is the first Lion to earn the award since Uriah Harris in 2016.   2019 ALL-LONE STAR CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Dominique Ramsey, Texas A&M-Commerce, Safety & KR, Jr., Converse, Texas,...Dominique Ramsey (Converse - Judson) picked up a trio of awards, earning All-Academic honors, First Team All-LSC at return specialist, and First Team All-LSC at safety. The redshirt junior carries excellent scholastic credentials while double majoring in mathematics and electrical engineering, earning Dean's List and LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction four times.

He earned LSC Special Teams Player of the Week honors twice in 2019, ranking second in the nation in kickoff return average at 37.5 yards per return, and second in the LSC and ninth in the nation in punt return average at 14.7 yards per return. His return prowess has seen teams kick away from him insomuch as he has not returned a kickoff in the last three games.
