  2021 OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE SECOND-TEAM (COACHES): SAF - Josh Reliford, Tennessee Tech,...Reliford has made the most of his time after transferring in from Hutchinson CC in Kansas. In 2019, he had 54 tackles. Spring 2020, he had 41 and two interceptions. This fall, he finished with a team-best 69 tackles with 4.0 for-loss for seven yards, while the Fitzgerald, Ga., native also broke up six passes and had a quarterback hurry. The Clarksville native scored three touchdowns - including one against his hometown Austin Peay squad - as he hauled in 41 catches for 574 yards. Cross averaged 14.0 yards per catch and 52.2 yards per game.   2021 OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE SECOND-TEAM (COACHES): RB - David Gist, Tennessee Tech,...Gist, a local product from Cookeville, was fourth in the conference in rushing. After missing the vast majority of the Spring 2021 campaign from an injury in the second game at Jacksonville State, Gist returned with a vengeance. He became the first Golden Eagle to rush for 100 yards in four consecutive games since Derek White in 2007. Gist ended the campaign with 901 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 4.9 yards per carry and 81.9 yards per game. He ran for a career-high 143 yards against NC Central. He was also Tech's second-leading receiver with 220 yards and another touchdown on 37 catches.   2021 OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE FIRST-TEAM (COACHES): DE - Chris Tucker, Tennessee Tech,...For Tucker, it is his third first-team All-OVC selection, earning nods following the 2019 and Spring 2021 campaigns. It is Reliford's second pick to the second-team defense, also selected following the Spring 2021 season. For Gist, Cross and Huff, it is their first selection to the all-conference team. Tucker's numbers were incredible as the defensive end from Jackson recorded 29 tackles, three sacks, nine quarterback hurries and forced a fumble.   David Gist and Jordan Brown ran for two touchdowns each and Tennessee Tech gained 299 yards rushing in a 56-13 victory over NCCAA-member Virginia Lynchburg on Saturday. Gist had 13 carries for 127 yards and Brown carried 15 times for 110. The Golden Eagles had a 404-156 advantage in total offense. With the success of the running game, Tennessee Tech (3-5) attempted only nine passes - two were intercepted and two went for touchdowns. For the Dragons (0-8), Kentavious Williams returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown and Cinsere Clark caught a 13-yard TD pass from Chacai Campbell.   Willie Miller threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score to lead Tennessee Tech to its first win of the season, a 27-16 victory over North Carolina Central on Saturday. Aidan Raines blocked a punt to end North Carolina Central's first series, and Miller ran into the end zone from the 1 on the next play. Miller threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to David Gist to stretch Tennessee Tech's (1-4) lead to 14-3 early in the second quarter. Miller was 11-of-22 passing for 145 yards. Gist ran 19 times for 143 yards rushing and caught two passes for 19. Davius Richard completed 32 of 48 passes for 313 yards, and he threw a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter for North Carolina Central (2-3).   Willie Miller threw for two touchdowns and David Gist ran for two more as Tennessee Tech came from 10-points down at halftime to score a 28-17 win over Southeast Missouri State on Saturday and earn its first win in five starts this season. Miller fired 25 yards to Quinton Cross early in the third quarter, then hit Ashton Maples with a 28-yard strike to put the Golden Eagles on top, 14-10 with 2:55 left in the period. Gist scored on two short runs in the fourth quarter to make it 28-10 before the Redhawks scored in the final minute to set the final score. Miller attempted just nine passes, completing five for 74 yards and two scores and ran 10 times for 65 yards. Gist carried 25 times for 133 yards for the Golden Eagles (1-4, 1-1 Ohio Valley Conference). Jalyn Williams was 12 of 26 passing for 119 yards and a touchdown.   David Gist ran for a pair of touchdowns and Tennessee Tech defeated defending Missouri Valley Conference champion Austin Peay 27-21 in a league opener on Sunday. The Golden Eagles, playing for the first time in 455 days, were outgained 373-156 but scored 20 points off four Austin Peay turnovers. Trailing 14-3 midway through the third quarter, Bailey Fisher threw a 13-yard screen pass to Metrius Fleming for a score. Early in the fourth quarter, Josh Reliford intercepted a pass he returned to the Governors 22-yard line.
