  2019 PRESEASON WUERFFEL TROPHY WATCH LIST: Andrew Armstrong, Syracuse, Senior, LB,...In addition to his work with JDRF, Armstrong is a member of the leadership group for Syracuse University's chapter of Uplifting Athletes. He served as one of the team captains for last week's "Lift for Life." Armstrong's team raised the most money for the event, bringing in $2,680 of the chapter's $7,287 total to benefit those affected by rare diseases. On the field, Armstrong has played in 37 games on special teams and at linebacker. He has 74 career tackles, including a personal-best 45 last season.   2019 PRESEASON WALTER CAMP PLAYER OF YEAR PLAYERS TO WATCH: Andre Cisco, DB, Sophomore, Syracuse,...Friday's watch list nod is Cisco's fifth of the preseason. He's also a member of the watch lists for the Bednarik Award (defensive player of the year), Nagurski Trophy (defensive player of the year), Lott IMPACT Trophy (defensive player of the year) and Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back).

Cisco is one of 10 defensive players who are considered preseason candidates for Walter Camp Player of the Year and he's the only sophomore from that side of the ball. The other three sophomores on the 40-man watch list - Trevor Lawrence (Clemson), Adrian Martinez (Nebraska) and Rondale Moore (Purdue) - play on offense. A 2018 Walter Camp Second Team All-American, Cisco tied for the national lead with seven interceptions last season.   2019 PRESEASON PAUL HORNUNG AWARD WATCH LIST: Sean Riley, Syracuse,...A preseason candidate for the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's outstanding receiver, Riley enters his final season seventh in school history and first among active FBS players with 3,678 career all-purpose yards. He's served as the Orange's primary kickoff return man since his freshman season and leads all active FBS players with 100 returns for 2,174 yards (21.7 avg.).

Additionally, Riley tops the ACC active list with 83 career receptions for 990 yards (11.9 avg.) and three touchdowns. He's also run back 35 punts for 424 (12.1 avg.) yards and a score. In 2018, Riley was an all-purpose selection to the All-ACC Third Team. Syracuse's leading receiver, he caught 64 balls for 756 yards (11.8 avg.) and three touchdowns. Hofrichter punted 67 times for 2,874 yards (42.9 avg.) with just four touchbacks last season.   Looking to become just the second repeat winner in history, Syracuse sophomore Andre Szmyt headlines the thirty-player Watch List for the 2019 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award, as announced by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. Szmyt, just the third freshman to ever win the Groza, became the second kicker in FBS history to lead all players in points per game. If he defends his title, he would join former Florida State kicker Sebastian Janikowski (1998 & 1999) as the only players to win multiple Grozas.

He is joined on the Watch List by two former finalists in Wyoming senior Cooper Rothe and Utah State senior Dominik Eberle, as well as ten other past semifinalists. Among the players on the Watch List are all 11 returning FBS kickers who made at least 19 field goals last season: Szmyt (30), Missouri senior Tucker McCann (24), NC State sophomore Christopher Dunn (23), Eberle (22), Ole Miss junior Luke Logan (22), Texas A&M sophomore Seth Small (20), Georgia Southern senior Tyler Bass (19), Georgia senior Rodrigo Blankenship (19), Arkansas senior Connor Limpert (19), Wake Forest sophomore Nick Sciba (19), and East Carolina senior Jake Verity (19). - Lou Groza Award

  2019 PRESEASON RIMINGTON TROPHY CANDIDATE: Airon Servais, Syracuse,...Servais has started all 25 games at center for the Orange the past two years, amassing 72.5 knockdown blocks over 2,139 snaps, including a team-best 36.5 last season. A 2018 All-ECAC First Team selection, Servais averaged 5.25 knockdowns per game during the final four contests. His efforts helped pave the way for an Orange offense that ranked 11th nationally in scoring (40.2 ppg) a year ago and set program records for points (523) and rushing touchdowns (38).

Off the field, Servais is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree, a five-time SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll selection, and the current director of public relations for the Syracuse chapter of Uplifting Athletes. In his role with UA, Servais helped organize the 2019 "Lift for Life," which was held last night and raised more than $7,000 to benefit those affected by rare diseases. - Syracuse Football

He's joined by Clemson's Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross, Florida State's Tamorrion Terry, Miami's K.J. Osborn, and Virginia Tech's Damon Hazelton. Riley started 12 of 13 games in 2018 and was an all-purpose selection to the All-ACC Third Team. He led the Orange with 64 catches for 756 yards and three touchdowns a year ago.

Riley finished sixth in the ACC in receptions per game (4.9) and tallied three 100-yard receiving games, including a career-high 164 yards in Syracuse's win over NC State.
