  2021 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Kyle Nunez, Stony Brook, OL, Sr.,...Nunez anchored the offensive line all season long from right guard. The redshirt senior helped lead the Seawolves to 10 100-plus yard rushing performances this season. The team ran for 200 yards or more in three games this season and racked up a season-high 321 rushing yards in the, 36-14, win over UAlbany to reclaim the Golden Apple. He has been tabbed to an All-CAA team four years in a row and it marks the third time that he claimed Second Team honors. Nunez helped the running game average 176.1 yards per game, the third-most in the CAA this season and the Seawolves rushed for 19 touchdowns as a team, which were tied for the most in the conference. He aided Lawton's career year as he helped pave the way for the running back to rush for over 1,000 yards this season. - Stony Brook Football

  Tyquell Fields threw two touchdown passes and ran for a third and Stony Brook forced six turnovers to defeat Richmond 27-14 on Saturday. Fields, who threw for 226 yards, threw a 27-yard scoring pass to Shawn Harris, Jr. in the first quarter, and hit Tyler Devera on a 20-yard play in the second as the Seawolves (3-5, 2-3 Colonial Athletic Association) built a 20-0 lead by halftime. Richmond (2-5, 0-4) cut the gap to 20-7 on an Aaron Dykes 2-yard carry before Fields iced the game with his run from the 5 coming five plays after a Richmond fumble. The Spiders lost four fumbles and Joe Mancuso was intercepted twice. Stony Brook scored 10 points off the miscues. Mancuso completed 21 of 43 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown to Savon Smith as Richmond closed to 27-14 with 9:27 remaining. After forcing a Stony Brook three-and-out, Mancuso was picked off in the end zone by Randy Pringle to effectively end the comeback threat. - Stony Brook/AP College Football

  Tyquell Fields threw for one touchdown and ran for another to lead Stony Brook to a 24-3 victory over Colgate on Saturday. Ty Son Lawton added a rushing score and finished with 134 yards on the ground, going over 1,000 for his career. Jacob Jaworski kicked a 35-yard-field goal to give the Raiders (0-2) their only points and the early lead. Fields found Shawn Harris Jr. alone deep down the middle for a 64-yard score early in the second quarter and Mike Boyle added a 26-yard field goal for a 10-3 halftime lead. Fields ran in from the 1 for a score, capping an 81-yard drive that took over 8 1/2 minutes for a 17-3 lead late in the third, and Lawson added a 10-yard score early in the fourth. The Seawolves (1-1) outgained the Raiders 413-247, giving up just 60 rushing yards. The Seawolves had three sacks, interceptions by Dajon Owens and Jordan Jackson, plus a goal-line stand that halted a 77-yard Colgate drive at the 1. - AP College Football

  Standout linebacker Elias Reynolds is returning home to complete his collegiate football career. Reynolds, a Brooklyn native who appeared in 25 games over two-plus seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, will join the Stony Brook football team for the upcoming season as a graduate transfer. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining. "They had the best to offer: great people, staff, coaches, academics, facilities - and all in my own backyard," Reynolds said. "It doesn't get any better than that. I'm coming home."

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Reynolds earned a bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in administration of justice from Pitt. With the Panthers, Reynolds started games at middle linebacker against Virginia and Penn State last season. In 2018, he recorded a career-high 12 tackles against Duke and had seven tackles in the ACC championship game against Clemson. - Stony Brook Football

  Representatives from 14 NFL franchises descended on Long Island for Stony Brook football's annual Pro Day on Wednesday. Eight Seawolves showcased their talents in the weight room and on the field, while the university was able to show off its new indoor practice facility. "I was just grateful for the opportunity to be able to workout in front of NFL scouts," former Seawolves captain Gavin Heslop said. "I felt prepared and I felt like I had a great day." Heslop joined seven other draft-eligible players in Wednesday's workout.
