  Ryan Stubblefield threw a touchdown pass and ran for two scores to help South Carolina State beat Bethune-Cookman 55-41 on Saturday night. The Bulldogs' Jayden Sellers recovered a fumble near the goal line and took it to the end zone early as South Carolina State (2-1) rattled off 24 points in the first quarter. Cam'Ron Ransom completed 20 of 30 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns for the Wildcats (0-3). He also rushed 11 times for 78 yards and a score.

Stubblefield completed 21 of 35 passes for 286 yards. Jordan Smith had nine receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. KZ Adams and Tyler Smith each added a rushing touchdown. Mason Pickett-Hicks' 69-yard touchdown run made it 48-27. Ransom connected with Maleek Huggins for a 52-yard touchdown pass in a 28-point fourth quarter. - AP College Football

  Ryan Stubblefield hit Shamontae Burgess with a 12-yard touchdown pass with 89 seconds remaining and South Carolina State rallied to defeat Wofford 16-15 in a season opener on Saturday. The Bulldogs drove 74 yards on the winning drive, with Stubblefield completing key third-down passes of 29 yards to Cyrus Ellison and 35 yards to Jalen Johnson. Wofford took a 13-9 lead early in the fourth quarter when Maximus Pulley blocked a punt and Perrin Ketchin returned it for a touchdown. The Terriers made it 15-9 a few minutes later when Brandon Maina sacked William Atkins IV in the end zone for a safety.

The Terriers' Conner Deviney missed a 43-yard field goal try on their next possession and South Carolina State began the game-winning drive from its own 26-yard line. After South Carolina State took the lead, Wofford drove to the Bulldogs 31-yard line, but Deviney missed from 48 yards with four seconds remaining. For the game, Stubblefield completed 10 of 17 passes for 128 yards and Atkins was 17 of 33 for 175 yards. The Bulldogs compiled 414 yards while holding Wofford to 142 yards. - AP College Football

  Corey Fields threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter and South Carolina State cruised past Virginia Lynchburg 36-0 on Saturday. S.C. State forced Virginia Lynchburg into a three-and-out to start the game and 44 seconds later, Rakim White caught a 27-yard touchdown pass. White also had a 40-yard TD midway through the quarter and Shaquan Davis added a 22-yarder for a 21-0 lead with 2:15 left in the opening quarter. S.C. State's fourth passing TD came from backup Tyrece Nick to Hezekiah Massey from 33 yards. Fields was 17 of 36 for 263 yards and three touchdowns for South Carolina State (2-4). White had four catches for 110 yards and two scores, and Davis added seven grabs for 76 yards. Kendrel Flowers rushed for 72 yards.
