  NOV 11 PIONEER FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: JoJo Binda Jr., San Diego, Senior (RS), Running Back, Providence, Rhode Island,...Binda Jr. became the fourth PFL runner to record a 200-yard rushing day, amassing 227 yards on 13 carries in San Diego's 51-7 PFL victory at Stetson, Saturday. His 17.5 yards per carry was the best mark in the PFL this season. Binda Jr. took seven of his 13 carries for 10-plus yards and three runs went for 30-plus yards. He finished with just one touchdown carry, a 36-yard dash in the third quarter, but also had a 71-yard run to start the fourth quarter that set up a San Diego score on the next play. It was the best rushing yardage total by a San Diego rusher since 2014 (Jonah Hodges vs. Stetson). - Pioneer League Football

  NOV 11 PIONEER FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brandon Eickert, San Diego, Freshman, Kicker, St. Charles, Illinois,...Eickert became the first PFL kicker to score 15 points in a game since 2017, helping San Diego score a 51-7 PFL victory at Stetson, Saturday. He hit field goals from 30, 37 and 37 yards and connected on all six PATs. Eickert's first two field goals (30 and 37 yards) provided the game's first six points and he hit his second 37-yarder to give the Toreros a 16-0 halftime lead. In the second half he was only called on for PAT duty, connecting five times as San Diego broke the game open.   2019 WALTER PAYTON AWARD WATCHLIST ADDITION: QB Reid Sinnett, San Diego,...Considered the "Heisman of the FCS," the Walter Payton Award is given to the top offensive player from the FCS level. Sinnett joins teammate Michael Bandy, who was selected in the preseason after his consensus All-American season last year, on the 41-nominee midseason watch list. In his first season as a starter, Sinnett is the FCS leader in passing efficiency and completion percentage while he is among the top four in passing touchdowns (3rd), passing yards per game (3rd), points responsible for (3rd) and total offense (4th).   JoJo Binda Jr. rushed for a career-high 227 yards on just 13 carries, RJ Gonzalez ran for three touchdowns, and San Diego rolled past Stetson 51-7 on Saturday. Binda, a junior college transfer now in his senior season with the Toreros, had rushed for 145 yards in four previous games this season. His touchdown was a 33-yard run in the third quarter. Gonzalez scored on runs of 11, 13 and 7 yards, all in the second half. The Toreros (7-2, 6-0 Pioneer League) ran for 353 yards and passed for 257. Reid Sinnett was 18-of-34 passing with two touchdowns and an interception.

With 610 yards total offense, the Toreros increased their FCS-leading average of 487.4 yards per game. Stetson, fourth in FCS at 482 yards per game in total offense, was held to 228 with only 12 first downs. San Diego scored the first 37 points, holding the Hatters (6-3, 3-3) scoreless until the fourth quarter when quarterback Alex Piccirilli scored on a 6-yard run with 10:58 remaining. The Toreros have a seven-game winning streak, 17-game conference road winning streak, and 35-game conference winning streak overall.   Joseph Binda Jr. ran for three touchdowns, Terrence Smith ran for two more and San Diego cashed in on turnovers to beat Drake 49-7 on Saturday to become the Pioneer Football League's remaining undefeated team. The Toreros (6-2, 5-0) scored 35 unanswered first-half points in winning their sixth straight PFL game and seventh straight against the Bulldogs. San Diego used a 46-yard flea-flicker from Reid Sinnett to Dalton Kincaid to score on its opening drive of the third quarter for a 42-0 lead. Kincaid caught five passes for 117 yards.

Drake (4-4, 4-1) cashed in on a Sinnett fumble on a sack, with Ian Corwin scoring four plays later on a fourth-and-goal. David Tolbert's interception of a Corwin pass led to Binda's 1-yard TD run and the Toreros led 21-0 after a pick by Victor Lopez set up Smith's 2-yard scoring run. Binda also scored on runs of 5 and 1 yards and Smith scored on a 19-yard run. Sinnett's 3-yard TD run put San Diego up 35-0 at halftime. Freshman Amir Wallace stopped a late Drake drive with an interception in the end zone.   Reid Sinnett threw three touchdown passes, Emilio Martinez and Terrence Smith combined to rush for 300 yards and four touchdowns and San Diego pulled away defeat Dayton 50-38 on Saturday. Sinnett threw for 314 yards with one interception for the Toreros (5-2, 4-0 Pioneer Football League). Martinez ran for 161 yards on 20 carries, including an 11-yard TD run in the first quarter. Smith added 139 yards on 11 carries, including three scoring runs in the second half. San Diego earned its 33rd straight PFL victory - the longest active streak in the nation and the third longest in FCS history. The Toreros have won 16 straight PFL road games and beat Dayton (4-3, 2-2) for the seventh time in the last nine meetings.

Jack Cook staked the Flyers to a 7-0 lead on their first possession with a 25-yard TD toss to Adam Trautman. But Martinez capped USD's opening drive with his TD run and Sinnett hooked up with Michael Armstead for a 45-yard score and a 13-7 Toreros' lead. Cook hit Jake Chisholm for a 49-yard score and Cook added a 1-yard TD run to put the Flyers up 20-16, but Sinnett answered with a 43-yard scoring strike to Michael Bandy and San Diego took a 22-20 lead into halftime. San Diego took control of the game in the third quarter on Smith's 4-yard TD run and Sinnett's 6-yard TD toss to Bandy, leading 36-20 after three quarters. Smith added TD runs of 1 and 12 yards in the final quarter to help the Toreros hold off a late Flyers charge. Bandy finished with nine catches for 194 yards.   Reid Sinnett threw five touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead San Diego in a 42-17 rout of Valparaiso on Saturday. Sinnett was 21-of-31 passing for 271 yards and added 63 yards rushing. Michael Bandy had three touchdown catches and finished with eight receptions for 171 yards for the Toreros (4-2, 3-0 Pioneer League). Alex Spadone caught five passes, two for scores. San Diego forced a season-high four turnovers with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The Toreros jumped out to a 28-3 halftime lead. Chris Duncan had two touchdown runs in the third quarter for Valparaiso (0-7, 0-3). Duncan was 16 of 26 for 182 yards passing and added 32 yards rushing.   OCT 14 PIONEER LEAGUE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Reid Sinnett, San Diego, Senior (RS) Quarterback, Johnston, Iowa,...Sinnett set career bests in touchdowns, completions and passing yardage to help San Diego post its first road win of 2019 in a 37-17 PFL victory at Davidson, Saturday. Sinnett completed 27-of-32 passes for 358 yards and five touchdowns against the Wildcats. He found nine different receivers on the day, four of those catching a touchdown. Sinnett tied the game 17-17 going into halftime with a touchdown throw with 1:02 left in the first half. He then was responsible for all three second-half touchdowns as San Diego pulled away for the victory. His two interceptions came in the second half, the first coming at the San Diego 35-yard line near the end of the third quarter. Johnson then picked off his second pass on Marist's next drive of the game, setting up San Diego on the Marist 39-yard line which led to a Toreros field goal.   Reid Sinnett threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns and San Diego's defense collected four interceptions as the Toreros opened the defense of their Pioneer League championship by throttling Marist, 31-7 on Saturday afternoon. San Diego came into the game off the second bye in the last three weeks. Sinnett threw three first-half touchdown passes, two of them to Alex Spadone, the first from 40 yards out, the second from 49. Sinnett finished 19 of 29 for 341 yards. Spadone had three catches for 110 yards.

San Diego stymied the Red Foxes' running game, holding them to just 39 rushing yards. Hunter Cobb scored the lone Marist touchdown on a 1-yard run but managed just 19 yards on eight carries. Austin Day was 19 of 34 passing for Marist (1-4, 1-2) but had four passes picked off, including a 46-yard pick-six by San Diego's David Tolbert, whose twin brother, Daniel, also had an interception. San Diego now is 15-0 all-time against Marist and has scored 30 or more points in six of the last eight meetings. The Toreros beat Marist 35-7 in San Diego in 2017. He completed 22-of-30 (73.3 percent) of his passes for 384 yards, averaging 17.5 yards per completion. Sinnett threw a 65-yard touchdown strike on San Diego’s first play from scrimmage to set the tone for the day. He later added touchdown passes of 57 and 18 yards as the Toreros dashed out to a 24-0 lead.   Reid Sinnett threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns and San Diego held off Harvard 31-23 on Saturday. The Toreros (1-2) led 31-7 midway through the third quarter. Yet in the fourth, Harvard's Jake Smith tossed a 14-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Klink and an 80-yard score to Jack Cook. The Crimson's Jake McIntyre's 30-yard field goal capped the scoring with 3:18 left. Harvard (0-1) forced a three-and-out on the Toreros' next series and had possession with 1:41 to play. The Crimson then had third-and-4 at the 50 but Smith threw an interception to Daniel Tolbert.

Sinnett, a fifth-year senior, was 22-of-30 passing with a touchdown passes to Michael Bandy, Dalton Kincaid and Alex Spadone. Bandy had eight receptions for 159 yards and Kincaid had three catches for 104 yards. Spadone caught two passes for 41 yards. Smith was 22-of-39 passing for 325 yards.
