Teven Jenkins' Oklahoma State career is officially over. The redshirt senior offensive lineman suffered a lower back injury in the Bedlam game on Nov. 21, and announced on Monday morning that he would sit out the rest of the season to prepare himself for the NFL Draft. "This past week has left me with a lot of difficult decisions to make for my future and family," Jenkins wrote in a Twitter post. "With this being said, I have decided to forgo the rest of the season and declare for the 2021 NFL Draft. "Although I cannot wait to see where my future lies, I've cherished every moment I've had at OSU." - Daily Oklahoman

Oklahoma State offensive tackle Teven Jenkins has decided to skip the remainder of the season to prepare for the NFL draft. Jenkins made the announcement in a tweet on Monday. Jenkins was injured against Oklahoma on Nov. 21 and did not play this past Saturday against Texas Tech. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said the 6-foot-6, 320-pound senior has been dealing with back pain. Jenkins was a preseason All-Big 12 selection who started six games at right tackle and one game at left tackle this season. He started all 12 games he played last season and helped running back Chuba Hubbard lead the nation in rushing. He started all 13 games as a sophomore and played in all 12 games as a freshman in 2017. - AP College Football

Receiver Tylan Wallace put on a show in his final game at BPS. The senior from Fort Worth, Texas, went over the 100-yard mark for the 15th game of his career, and he got there by halftime. He added a highlight-reel touchdown catch in the third quarter, coming down with a pass in the back of the end zone and dragging his feet as he pulled the ball in. Wallace finished with 129 yards and a TD on seven receptions. He was targeted 12 times and rushed once for 7 yards. In the first half alone, he had six catches for 102 yards. Quarterback Spencer Sanders spread the ball out well, completing passes to seven players and targeting nine receivers in all. - Daily Oklahoman

Before the game, OSU recognized 21 players, many of whom were playing their final game at Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday. Among them was Hubbard, the junior running back who has been widely expected to leave for the NFL Draft after the season. Saturday's recognition solidified that expectation. Seniors like Wallace, Jenkins and Williams are also bound for the NFL, while others will have a decision to make. The NCAA ruled that players would not lose a year of eligibility, regardless of participation in a sport in the fall of 2020. Thus, the seniors retain their final year of eligibility and can return next fall if they wish. - Daily Oklahoman

Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard is out for Saturday's game against Texas Tech with a leg injury. Hubbard, a redshirt junior, was introduced with the seniors on Senior Day. He walked onto the field during a pregame ceremony wearing his jersey without pads and a medical boot on his right leg. He played last Saturday against Oklahoma, but had just 44 yards on eight carries. Hubbard has rushed for 625 yards and five touchdowns this season. He led the nation last season with 2,094 yards and finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy balloting. He has rushed for 3,459 yards in his career - eighth in school history. - AP College Football

NOV 9 BIG 12 CO-SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tom Hutton, P, So., Oklahoma State,...Hutton punted a career-high eight times in OSU's 20-18 win at K-State, playing an integral role in field position throughout the game. Three of his punts were downed inside the K-State 20. Only one of Hutton's eight attempts was able to be returned by K-State, as his spot punting forced fair catches or was targeted out-of-bounds. The Wildcats' average field position following Hutton's punts was its own 23.5 yard line. - Big 12 Football

Oklahoma State wideout Tylan Wallace, the Big 12's leader in nearly every major receiving category - including receptions per game (7.0), yards per game (117.6) and total yardage (588) - was held out of the lineup Saturday, reportedly batting a muscle injury that occurred in a practice earlier this week. His only appearance in the game came during the fourth quarter, when he took the field for an onside kick by K-State. He knocked the ball out of bounds before returning to the Cowboys' sideline. - Manhattan Mercury

Oklahoma State was missing so many offensive players to injuries this week that coach Mike Gundy joked he took most of the reps at running back, even though he's a 53-year-old ex-quarterback who was hardly known for his wheels. Good thing the Cowboys' defense showed up against Kansas State. Jason Taylor II returned a fumble 85 yards for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, and Oklahoma State stopped the Wildcats' 2-point try that would have tied the game with 2:08 to go, allowing the No. 14 Cowboys to escape with a 20-18 victory Saturday night that kept their Big 12 title hopes alive.

"We don't ever talk about it," Gundy said, "but they need the credit this week for fighting through where they were and finding aw ay to win on the road and play this game. It's extremely difficult when you don't have your guys practicing, even though they're some veteran guys. You need to practice." Spencer Sanders was held to just 108 yards passing without dynamic wide receiver Tylan Wallace and with running back Chuba Hubbard slowed by an injury. LD Brown helped to pick up the load, running for 110 yards, as Oklahoma State (5-1, 4-1) leaned on a defense that was trampled by Texas a week ago. - AP College Football

NOV 2 BIG 12 CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tylan Wallace, WR, Sr., Oklahoma State,...Wallace finished with a career-high 11 catches on 11 targets for 187 yards and two touchdowns. It marked the most receiving yards and most catches of any Big 12 player in a game this season. It was the fifth game with double-digit catches of Wallace's career, while it was his 13th career game of 100 or more receiving yards. - Big 12 Football

Spencer Sanders passed for 235 yards and ran for 71 and a touchdown in his return from injury, and No. 6 Oklahoma State defeated No. 17 Iowa State 24-21 on Saturday. Sanders had been out since injuring his right ankle in the season-opener against Tulsa. Chuba Hubbard ran for 139 yards and a touchdown for Oklahoma State (4-0, 3-0 Big 12). With the win, the Cowboys joined Kansas State as the only remaining undefeated teams in conference play. The Cyclones (3-2, 3-1) vaulted onto the national radar by beating Oklahoma earlier in the month and were seeking their first ever 4-0 start in league play. Iowa State’s Breece Hall, who was second nationally in yards rushing per game, ran for a career-high 185 yards. With Oklahoma State leading 14-7 late in the second quarter, Iowa State drove deep into Oklahoma State territory but had to settle for a field goal attempt. Connor Assalley’s 33-yard kick bounced off the right upright with 1:22 left in the first half. It was his second missed field goal of the first half, and Oklahoma State took its seven-point lead into the break. - Oklahoma State/AP College Football

Four games into the current season and with Texas Tech still looking for a Big 12 win, coach Matt Wells announced a quarterback change Wednesday. Alan Bowman, who had shown tantalizing potential the past two seasons when not sidelined by long-term injuries, is out. Utah State transfer Henry Colombi is the new starter, Wells said, for Tech's next game, Oct. 24 against West Virginia. Wells said Colombi "kind of jumpstarted the offense" in relief appearances against Kansas State and Iowa State. Colombi has completed 74.1% of his passes for 359 yards, with three touchdown passes and one interception. He was also familiar with the system offensive coordinator David Yost from Utah State.

While Bowman suffered an ankle injury against K-State, that was not the reason for the change."Alan has played OK," Wells said. "He has not played bad. I want to say that. He is not the reason we're 1-3, absolutely. It's never that way. Playing the quarterback position, I understand it that quarterbacks usually get too much credit and they get too much blame. "Certainly I want to make sure we're definitely not blaming, and it's absolutely not that. But when you're 1-3 and you have played just OK, and as we work through it with Alan, he understands that." A redshirt sophomore from Grapevine, Bowman had a 64.7% completion rate with 881 yards. He's thrown seven touchdowns but also had four interceptions. - Dallas Morning News

Tylan Wallace was having a relatively quiet start to the season. It was speculated the Oklahoma State receiver might have been dealing with the lingering effects of his ACL injury from late in the 2019 season. Others wrote it off as the offense was focusing more on avoiding major mistakes from true freshman quarterback Shane Illingworth once starter Spencer Sanders went down on the first play of the second offensive drive of the season. "Tylan is very driven," Cowboy coach Mike Gundy said. "He was at, sometimes, we felt four to six weeks ahead in recovery, just based on his willingness to work hard with with rehab. And he's put himself in a good situation. He's somewhat past the mental part of it, which, you know, anytime you get injured, you know, it works on you mentally a little bit, and I think he's gotten past that now. And he's back to just enjoying the game."

Whatever the case was, it's now a thing of the past with the help of the outmatched, inexperienced Kansas defense. Wallace recorded his first 100-yard receiving performance of the season, and hauled in his first touchdowns - including the team's first passing touchdown of the year. He finished with nine catches for 148 yards, with a long of 55 yards, and two touchdowns. "What they did defensively allowed us to be able to do those things," Wallace said. "We watched their past few games and we knew they were going to come out and do that. That's exactly what we needed to be able to throw the ball down the field, and I think we did a better job, obviously, than the past few games." - Stillwater Press

An injury to Alan Bowman in Saturday's loss at Kansas State disrupted the Texas Tech quarterback picture for the third year in a row. Maybe this setback won't be as long-term as the collapsed lung and the cracked collarbone that caused Bowman to miss 13 games and the second halves of two others over the previous two seasons. Either way, the Red Raiders developed some confidence Saturday in his backup. Discussing Bowman's injured right ankle, Tech coach Matt Wells said Monday, "Nothing's broke. Nothing's fractured. He's day to day." But Wells and offensive coordinator David Yost indicated Bowman is likely to miss practice time this week and that Henry Colombi could get more snaps than usual to prepare. Tech (1-2, 0-2 in the Big 12) visits No. 24 Iowa State (2-1, 2-0) for a game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Asked if the quarterbacks' snaps will be adjusted this week, Wells said, "If he doesn't practice today, then you've got to." "We normally are a on a two-thirds/one-third rotation with the one and two quarterback throughout practice," Yost said. "Could he get closer to 50-50 this week? It's very possible. - Lubbock Avalanche Journal

Heisman hopeful running back Chuba Hubbard finally burst onto the scene this season with 20 carries for 145 yards and two touchdowns in just over one half of work. His 7.25 yards per carry was his best output this season, and the sixth game in the past two years in which Hubbard rushed for more than 7 yards an attempt. "I was thoroughly (impressed). It was great to see him get out there on the perimeter, stretch those legs and get that speed," Dunn said. "...It was good to see him get out there on the perimeter today and get some space in some green grass." - Stillwater Press
