  Matt Vezza threw for two touchdowns and ran for another score, and New Hampshire capitalized on a pair of second-half turnovers to beat Monmouth 34-13 on Saturday. Vezza was 16-of-25 passing for 173 yards and had 13 keepers for 67 yards. Myles Thomason rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Denzell Gibson had a 27-yard touchdown reception and Ryan Blagg had a 12-yarder, both coming after Monmouth, ranked sixth in the FCS coaches' poll, lost fumbles.

The Wildcats (6-4, 4-2 Coastal Athletic Association) took a 13-7 lead on Nick Reed's second field goal, a career-best 53-yarder, with 44 seconds left in the second quarter. The Hawks (8-2, 5-1) went 75 yards in five plays to tie the game at 13-all on a 19-yard pass from Frankie Weaver to Josh Derry eight seconds before halftime. New Hampshire marched 75 yards with the opening drive of the second half to break the tie on Thomason's 22-yard run. Gibson's score came on the third play after a fumble recovery on the Monmouth 37. The final score came after a fumble recovery on the New Hampshire 32. Monmouth also lost a fumble on its final possession. Weaver was 20 of 30 for 233 yards and two touchdowns. - AP College Football

  Parker Navarro threw for 201 yards and a touchdown and Sieh Bangura ran for 102 yards and a touchdown and Ohio beat Miami (Ohio) 24-20 on Tuesday night. The Bobcats' (6-3, 4-1 Mid-American Conference) win created a four-way tie atop the conference with the Red Hawks, Buffalo and Western Michigan, who are each 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the league.

Navarro threw a 49-yard touchdown to Rodney Harris II with 2:15 left to play to provide the game-winning score. On Miami's second play of its final drive, Jalen Thomeson intercepted Dequan Finn to seal the win. Ohio ran five plays, gained 11 yards and killed the clock. Finn threw a 27-yard touchdown to Kam Perry with 9:29 left to give Miami its final lead of the night. Early in the fourth, Finn threw a 4-yard touchdown to Braylon Isom for a 13-10 RedHawks lead. On the ensuing kickoff, however, Bangura ran it back 97 yards for a 17-13 Ohio advantage. Finn threw for 194, two touchdowns and an interception. - Ohio/AP College Football

  Parker Navarro threw two touchdown passes to Chase Hendricks, Sieh Bangura ran for two scores and Ohio defeated Eastern Michigan 28-21 on Saturday. After trailing by seven points at halftime, the Bobcats (5-3, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) put together a strong second half in which they had touchdown drives of 67, 70 and 69 yards. Bangura had two short touchdown runs sandwiched around Navarro's 14-yard TD pass to Hendricks for a 28-14 lead in the fourth quarter. Nick Devereaux caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Noah Kim with 1:39 remaining in the game but the Eagles (2-7, 1-4) did not get the ball back.

Navarro completed 23 of 28 passes for 315 yards with the two touchdowns. He was intercepted twice. Bangura had 100 yards on the ground and Navarro added 63. Hendricks caught 10 passes for 112 yards and Rodney Harris II had 103 yards on six receptions. Kim had 259 yards passing with two touchdowns to Devereaux, who had 121 yards on five catches. Bryce Llewellyn was credited with 13 tackles for Eastern Michigan and Jalen Thomeson led Ohio with 11 tackles. - Ohio/AP College Football

  Mike Vezza threw three touchdown passes - two to Caleb Burke - and New Hampshire beat William & Mary 34-24 on Saturday. Vezza threw touchdown passes of 17 yards and 48 yards, respectively, to Josh Fillion and Burke in the third quarter that countered a 6-yard TD run by the Tribe's Tyler Hughes for a 31-21 lead heading into the fourth. Nick Reed's 26-yard field goal with 19 seconds left in the first half gave New Hampshire (5-4, 3-2 Coastal Athletic Association) a 17-14 lead and the Wildcats stayed in front. Vezza and Burke connected for a 63-yard score and Myles Thomason rushed for a 39-yard TD in the first half. Vezza was 17-of-23 for career-high 280 yards. Burke had a career-high 153 yards on six catches and Thomason a personal-best 130 yards on 21 carries. Hughes rushed for all three of the Tribe's touchdowns and 74 yards total.   WEEK 8 MAC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sieh Bangura, Ohio, RB, R-Sr., Bowie, Md. (DeMatha Catholic),...Bangura continued his streak of dominant Homecoming performances, leading the Bobcats on the ground with 147 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in their 48-21 victory over the Northern Illinois Huskies. Just minutes into the game, the redshirt senior scored Ohio's first touchdown, wrapping up a 39-second drive with a two-yard run. He scored again at the beginning of the second quarter, extending Ohio's lead to 21-0. Bangura found the end zone a third and final time in the fourth quarter, completing an 11-play drive to put the score at 41-14 with 14:55 remaining in the game. This matchup against the Huskies marked Bangura's 10th career game with over 100 rushing yards, falling just one yard short of matching his career-high, which he set in 2022. In total, Bangura has scored 10 touchdowns across four Homecomings, highlighted by two Homecoming matchups where the running back scored three rushing touchdowns. - MAC Football

  Matt Vezza threw for 230 yards, including a passing and a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter for New Hampshire in a 24-10 win over Campbell on Saturday. Campbell (2-6, 2-2 in CAA) was ahead 10-9 heading into the fourth quarter, thanks to a 9-yard TD run from JJ Cowan. Vezza found Myles Thomason for a 4-yard touchdown pass with under nine minutes to play. Trailing 17-10, the Camels turned the ball over on downs on their own 6-yard line, setting up Vezza's rushing touchdown with under two minutes to play.

Mezza finished with 230 yards passing and 60 on the ground. Kicker Nick Reed went 3 for 4, with field goals from 36, 50 and 37 yards out. Campbell quarterback Mike Chandler II went 9-for-12 passing with 134 yards. Cowan led the Camels with 54 rushing yards.   Sieh Bangura rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns and Duncan Brune rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns to lead a dominant rushing effort for Ohio in a 48-21 win over Northern Illinois on Saturday. Bangura scored two touchdowns by the 12:13 mark of the second quarter, with a Parker Navarro rushing touchdown sandwiched between them. Navarro was 17-of-23 passing for 205 yards and an interception. Brune got on the board with a 66-yard scamper early in the third quarter. His second came less than seven minutes later.

Ohio (4-3, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) outgained Northern Illinois 538-293, with the offense going 5-for-5 in the red zone. Josh Holst was 21 of 29 with 161 yards and a couple of passing touchdowns for Northern Illinois (1-6, 0-3 MAC), but five of the Huskies' first seven drives ended in punts.   Matt Vezza threw for 190 yards and a touchdown, and he added a score on the ground to help New Hampshire beat Albany 24-6 on Saturday in a Coastal Athletic Association opener for both teams. New Hampshire had a touchdown drive in each of the first three quarters - with each being 12-plus plays and 75-plus yards. Denzell Gibson scored from the 1-yard line, Ryan Blagg caught a pass from 6 yards out on the 17th play of the drive, and Matt Vezza added a 3-yard run to cap a 97-yard drive. Nick Reed added a 47-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter for a 24-point lead. Myles Thomason rushed for 77 yards for New Hampshire (3-2, 1-0). Chase Wilson had 74 yards receiving. Colin Parachek threw for a touchdown and an interception for Albany (1-4, 0-1).   Parker Navarro threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, Sieh Bangura rushed for 115 yards and reigning Mid-American Conference champion Ohio beat Bowling Green 35-20 on Saturday in a league opener for both teams. Navarro scored on a 34-yard run with 6:20 left in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring. Bowling Green turned it over on downs on its next possession and DJ Walker ended the Falcons' final drive with an interception to seal it. It was Ohio's third interception of the game, highlighted by Cameron Hollobaugh's 71-yard pick-6.

Ohio (3-2) improved to 18-1 at home dating to the 2022 season. Navarro was 17 of 25 for 208 yards with an interception for Ohio. Navarro added 66 yards on 11 carries. Mason Williams caught eight passes for 93 yards and a score. Chase Hendricks scored from 25-yards out on his only catch.   Sieh Bangura ran for 123 yards and he and Duncan Brune each ran for three touchdowns and Ohio took control in the second quarter for a 52-35 win over FCS-member Gardner-Webb on Saturday. After the Bulldogs built a 14-3 lead following the first quarter, Ohio responded with a 2-yard scoring plunge from Brune with 12:59 left before halftime. Bangura ran it in from the 8 and the two-point conversion made it 17-14 with 7:55 before halftime.

Gardner-Webb regained the lead with a 68-yard scoring pass from Nate Hampton to Quasean Holmes to make it 21-17 with 6:30 left before the break. But a minute-and-a-half later, Parker Navarro threw a 43-yard touchdown to Chase Hendricks for a 24-21 Ohio lead. Bangura crashed in from a yard out to end an eight-play, 80-yard drive for a 10-point lead with 28 seconds left before halftime. Hendricks had eight catches for 144 yards and a touchdown for Ohio (2-2). Hampton threw for 289 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Individually, Molnar was among three Bobcats to log a team-best seven total tackles. He led the team with 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, while also recording two solo stops and one quarterback hurry. - MAC Football

  Parker Navarro threw one touchdown pass and Ohio overcame his three interceptions and held on to beat West Virginia 17-10 on Saturday. Ohio (1-1) of the Mid-American Conference beat a Big 12 opponent for the second time in three years. West Virginia (1-1) lost preseason all-Big 12 running back Jahiem White to a second-quarter injury and never recovered. Navarro maintained long drives with his scrambling and, more importantly, kept the Mountaineers' offense off the field. Ohio managed a total of three points on two straight drives inside the West Virginia 20 before Navarro started picking apart the Mountaineer defense. The Bobcats scored two touchdowns in the final three minutes of the first half. Navarro's 15-yard scramble set up Sieh Bangura's 1-yard TD run and, after West Virginia punted, Navarro hit Chase Hendricks with a 31-yard scoring pass for a 17-7 halftime lead.

Hendricks finished with eight catches for 121 yards. Navarro threw three second-half interceptions but West Virginia couldn't capitalize and punted each time. Navarro completed 22 of 31 passes for 247 yards and ran 18 times for 87 yards. The Mountaineers had plenty of opportunities in Rich Rodriguez's first road test since he returned for his second stint as their coach, but they managed just a field goal over the final three quarters. Texas A&M transfer Jaylen Henderson replaced starter Nicco Marchiol for two series in the second half without success before Marchiol returned. Marchiol's arm was hit as he tried to pass and Ohio's Cam Hollobaugh made the interception near midfield with 3:13 remaining. West Virginia got the ball back on downs at its 27 with 17 seconds left but couldn't make it past midfield. Marchiol finished 15 of 26 for 178 yards. - Ohio/AP College Football

Navarro completed 21-of-31 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns, matching his career high set on Nov. 29, 2024, against Ball State.
