Collin Guggenheim rushed for 266 yards, scored three touchdowns and barreled for critical first downs in the final three minutes as Nicholls upset Southeastern Louisiana 45-42 on Thursday night. The victory in the intense rivalry game dashed Southeastern Louisiana's Southland Conference title hopes, dampened their playoff chances, gave Nicholls the River Bell Classic trophy and knotted the series at 16 wins apiece. Guggenheim, a freshman, carried 29 times and averaged 9.2 yards per carry. Konen Granier threw for 182 yards and a touchdown.

Reigning Walter Peyton Award winner Cole Kelley threw for 385 yards with three touchdowns for the Lions (8-3, 6-2) and scored untouched from the 1-yard line as Southeastern Louisiana rallied from a 17-point deficit to pull within 45-42. After Kelley's rushing TD with 3:17 remaining, the Lions stacked the line of scrimmage with nine defenders but Guggenheim still plowed through for first-down runs of 9 and 11 yards as Nicholls drained all but 32 seconds off the clock. Kelley hit Austin Mitchell with a 34-yard pass down the sideline to the 31 with 25 seconds left, but the Colonels defense stiffened and a 44-yard field goal attempt sailed wide, allowing Nicholls (6-5, 5-3) to kneel for the final five seconds to secure a fifth-straight winning season. - AP College Football

Memphis senior linebacker Nehemiah Augustus has entered the transfer portal after posting a goodbye to fans on Twitter on Wednesday. Augustus did not play this past season and also didn't indicate whether he had opted out. In his note, he thanked previous coach Mike Norvell as well as coach Ryan Silverfield letting him "stay at Memphis this past year." Augustus had 43 tackles in 39 games from 2017-19. He had a memorable crushing tackle on the opening kickoff that started the Tigers' 54-48 win over SMU in front of a sellout home crowd in 2019. - Memphis Commercial Appeal

Memphis sophomore offensive lineman Titus Jones has entered the transfer portal, a source confirmed to The Commercial Appeal on Monday. The source requested anonymity because no official announcement has been made. Jones is the 12th player to leave the Tigers since preseason camp whether by transfer, opt out or personal leave of absence. He appeared in 20 games over two seasons, including seven games this season mostly on special teams. Jones played in the Tigers' win against Stephen F. Austin last Saturday. He was the one of the highest rated recruits Memphis signed in its 2018 class and was also ranked slightly higher than Kenneth Gainwell. Now he's the latest in that class to transfer or opt out. - Memphis Commercial Appeal

Narcisse, a junior, made his first start of the year Saturday against Army but was carted off the field early in the fourth quarter, suffering the injury at the end of a 20-yard run. Traylor said Narcisse's recovery is expected to last four to six months, opening the possibility of a return for spring practice. "At first, it was very devastating. He's calmed down a bit now," Traylor said. "He believes he'll come back from this and be better for it, and we're going to help him in that process." At the start of the season, Narcisse was used primarily in a short-yardage and goal-line package nicknamed the "Low Zone." But, following a rash of quarterback injuries, Narcisse became the fourth Roadrunner to try his hand at the full-time role when he entered just before halftime of last week's matchup against BYU. He staked his claim to the job with a standout performance, completing 17 of 20 passes for 229 yards with two touchdowns. Earning the starting nod against Army, Narcisse completed 16 of 31 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 47 yards on the ground. - Express-News
