Tevaka Tuioti threw for a career-high 355 yards Saturday and three touchdowns, two to Jordan Kress, leading New Mexico to a 55-52 win over downstate rival New Mexico State. Kress finished with 122 yards receiving and Ahmari Davis added a career-high 133 rushing yards and two TDs for New Mexico (2-1). Aggies quarterback Josh Adkins had 335 passing yards with three touchdowns in the air and three on the ground, while Jason Huntley ran for 114 yards and score. New Mexico started the game well when Jerrick Reed II picked off Adkins' first pass, taking it 43 yards for a touchdown.

The game was tied 31-31 at halftime before Adkins connected with Tony Nicholson for a 3-yard touchdown to put New Mexico State (0-4) up 38-34. But Kress got loose for his second score on a 20-yarder, and on the next possession, Tuioti found Cedric Patterson III for a 62-yard scoring strike and a 48-38 advantage for the Lobos entering the fourth quarter. The game was tied five times in the first half before New Mexico pulled away in the third quarter. The Lobos led 55-38 five minutes into the fourth quarter until New Mexico State rallied for two late touchdowns. - New Mexico/AP College Football

Kentucky coach Mark Stoops says quarterback Terry Wilson will miss the remainder of the season with a torn patellar tendon that will require surgery. Wilson was injured late in the third quarter Saturday night on a horse-collar tackle by Eastern Michigan defensive lineman Turan Rush. He was carted off the field for observation and an MRI on Sunday revealed the tear. A release from the school did not state when Wilson would have surgery.

Stoops says he's "sorry" for Wilson's injury in the release. He added that the junior QB "done so much for program the last two seasons, both in leadership and his production on the field." Wilson's injury likely propels Troy junior transfer Sawyer Smith to starter for Saturday night's game against No. 9 Florida. Smith relieved Wilson and threw two touchdown passes to seal the 38-17 victory for Kentucky (2-0). - AP College Football

Ahmari Davis scored two touchdowns and Andrew Shelly made four field goals to lead New Mexico to a 39-31 victory over Sam Houston State on Saturday night as the opener for both schools was tempered by news that Lobos coach Bob Davie was hospitalized after the game with what the school described as a serious medical issue. "There was an incident with Coach Davie," said New Mexico associate athletic director David Williams. "There will not be a press conference. No players, no coaches."

The university later said Davie was "taken to the hospital as a result of what appeared to be a serious medical condition" and more information would be released as it became available. The 64-year-old coach was taken away by ambulance with his wife in the front seat. Davis, who broke three plays for more than 40 yards, finished with 107 yards rushing and another 58 receiving. He had 183 total yards all of last season. Sheriron Jones, playing in relief of starting quarterback Brandt Hughes, ran for two second-half touchdowns to help the Lobos break open the game. - AP College Football

Terry Wilson threw two touchdown passes, Asim Rose and Kavosiey Smoke each ran for TDs and Kentucky overcame Toledo to pull away 38-24 on Saturday in the season opener for both schools. The Wildcats rallied twice against the Rockets to enter the break tied at 14 before taking control in the second half. A third-quarter fumble recovery led to Chance Poore's 46-yard, go-ahead field goal before Bryce Oliver's leaping grab of Wilson's 32-yard TD pass provided a 10-point lead. Smoke's 40-yard TD run down the left side midway through the fourth made it 31-17. Kentucky then converted DeAndre Square's interception into Wilson's 2-yard TD pass to Josh Ali to clinch the first meeting between the schools. - AP College Football
