That field goal, which was his third of the evening, capped a game-ending 12-0 run that sealed the thrilling 22-21 triumph against the Pioneer League foe. A product of the Garden State, Quigley put the Chargers on the board and gave his team the early advantage with his first score, a 38-yard field goal at the 8:57 mark of the first quarter. With his team facing a 21-10 deficit, the veteran converted on a 35-yarder with 10:57 to go in the third to spark New Haven's comeback. Quigley racked up 10 points in the win and was the lone NEC kicker to put up double digits on the weekend.   New Haven football (1-0) edged Marist (0-1) in a nail-biting 22-21 victory on Friday at Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium. The Chargers secured the win with a strong defensive performance, allowing only 160 total yards and sacking the Marist quarterback twice. Duffy led New Haven with a season-high 311 passing yards and two touchdown passes on 22-of-37 attempts, marking his first occurrence of two touchdown passes this season. Additionally, Duffy gained 35 rushing yards, marking the first occurrence of rushing yards this season. He also achieved a career milestone by surpassing 2500 passing yards, totaling 2710. Burleson contributed significantly with two receptions totaling 78 yards, including one touchdown. Glaudin was the top receiver, collecting seven catches for 99 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Frederick Borkey (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Thomas More) stood out with seven total tackles. - New Haven football

The junior quarterback orchestrated a second-half comeback that saw the Chargers bounce back from a 10-point halftime deficit to score a 41-31 victory over the Warriors. Opening the afternoon with the game's first score, a one-yard scamper into the end zone, Duffy followed a Liam Quigley field goal with a 70-yard touchdown bomb to Jonathan Lawson to knot the score up at 24-all midway through the third quarter.

That throw was the fourth-longest in the NEC this season. The Floridian continued to take control of the game and fuel the Chargers' torrid scoring run in the fourth quarter. After Quigley kicked the go-ahead field goal just 15 seconds into the stanza, he threw touchdown passes of 37 and 60 yards to give his team a comfortable 41-24 lead with 5:04 left to play. With two weeks to go in the 2025 regular season campaign, Duffy, who racked up 311 passing yards and 70 rushing yards in the win, tops the league's charts in several passing categories. He is first in touchdown throws (22), passing yards (2,347) and passing yards per game (234.7). In addition, Duffy is ranked among the nation's top-15 in each of those three categories, with his 22 touchdown passes being the sixth-most.   AJ Duffy threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score to lead New Haven over Merrimack 41-31 on Saturday night. Duffy completed 15 of 26 passes for 311 yards and added 70 yards rushing on 12 carries that included a short-yardage touchdown run. Jonathan Lawson, Kevonne Wilder, Issac Glaudin and Evan Chieca each had a touchdown catch for New Haven (5-5). Lawson led with 114 yards on two receptions. Chieca caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from running back Jayden Shwed that tied it 14-all in the second quarter.

Ayden Pereira was 10-of-19 passing for 172 yards and threw a touchdown pass and interception for Merrimack (3-7), which led 24-14 at halftime. Duffy's 70-yard touchdown pass to Lawson tied it 24-all midway through the third quarter. In the fourth, Duffy connected with Glaudin on a 37-yard touchdown pass and Wilder on 60-yarder to make it 41-24 with 6:38 to play. - AP College Football

  AJ Duffy threw for 354 yards and four touchdowns and Jalen Smith ran for 175 yards and two touchdowns as New Haven dismantled Division-III member Western Connecticut State 69-0 on Saturday. Duffy did his damage completing 15 of 21 and scored two running touchdowns while Smith ran just 12 times for 14.6-yards per carry. Brian Thomas ran for 110 yards on 14 carries and Isaac Glaudin had 106 yards receiving on four receptions with a touchdown. New Haven totaled 736 yards of total offense, never punted, and held the ball for 35:21. The Chargers (4-3) entered the red zone eight times and came away with six scores. The all-time series between the two teams is even at 4-4; however, in the last three meetings, the Chargers own wins of 69-0, 52-0 (1980) and 34-0 (1979). - AP College Football

In addition, Godwin added one forced fumble and an interception to his stat line. With his team up early by a 10-0 count, Godwin, a junior defensive back, came away with his first pick of the season late in the first quarter. That defensive stop led to a 14-play, 53-yard Chargers' drive in the second quarter that was capped by an Evan Chieca touchdown. The Floridian piloted the Chargers to a 24-17 win - their first as a Division I member - at CAA opponent UAlbany on Saturday after he threw for 180 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Following a field goal on New Haven's first possession, Duffy went to work and led his team to touchdowns on their next three drives, including a 12-yard pass to Matt Chandler, a three-yard dish to Evan Chieca and a 21-yarder to Nikkem Reynolds. Those scores put New Haven up by a comfortable 24-0 cushion with 5:01 left in the first half.   AJ Duffy threw four touchdown passes and New Haven scored all its points in the first half then held on for a 35-28 win over Division II Saginaw Valley State on Saturday. Duffy threw a 5-yard TD pass to Joshua Tracey and a 41-yarder to Logan Schmidt in the opening quarter then hit Tracey again for a 64-yard score plus an 18-yarder to Kevonne Wilder before Zaon Laney added a 2-yard rushing TD for a 35-14 halftime lead.

Duffy was 18-of-33 passing for 269 yards but had two interceptions for the Chargers (2-2). Mason McKenzie rushed for a 28-yard score and threw TD passes of 18 yards to Terrence Brown Jr. and 28 yards to Israel Bradford for the Cardinals. McKenzie finished 21 of 38 for 202 yards. He added 88 yards on the ground. Bradford's TD catch got the Cardinals within seven with 7 1/2 minutes left. Then, Christian Boivin intercepted Duffy and the Cardinals had the ball back but they turned it back on downs at the Chargers' 6. Under the lights of Tenney Stadium in Poughkeepsie, NY, the junior transfer and Floridian completed 31-of-55 passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. In the second quarter of the new season, Duffy completed a five-yard pass to teammate Evan Chieca to cap a nine-play, 72-yard drive that put New Haven on the board for the first time in the young season. Later in the game, the 6-foot-2 quarterback struck again when he hit Logan Schmidt with a 21-yarder for the Chargers' second score of the night.
