  2019 ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Toa Taua, So., RB,...The reigning MW Freshman of the Year continued his dominant play into his sophomore campaign, as Taua led Nevada with 759 yards on the ground in 2019. On 190 attempts, he scored six touchdowns while averaging four yards per rush. Putting together 63.25 yards per game, Taua went over the century mark twice this season with a huge game against San Jose State where he totaled 160. He also put up 135 at Fresno State, where he scored the game-winning touchdown with 12 seconds left in regulation. He played in all 12 games this season, totaling double-digit carries in all but one contest. - Nevada Football

He had a career day in the Wolf Pack's win against Weber State, registering 3.5 tackles for loss. The sophomore led the Wolf Pack with 14.75 yards per reception and hauled in the longest touchdown of the season, a 75-yard catch-and-run against San Jose State. His 167 receiving yards against the Spartans in that game were the fourth-most by any MW receiver in a game this season, and was the most of his career in a single contest. - Nevada Football

  2019 ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Daniel Brown, Sr., DB,...Brown cemented himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the conference this season, as he ranked tied for second in the Mountain West with four interceptions while averaging .40 per game. Those four interceptions are tied for 14th in the nation this season, while the .40 picks per game are 15th. Brown totaled 41 tackles, 29 of them solo and three tackles for loss that totaled 12 yards. His five pass breakups ranked third on the team. Brown's best game came in the season opener against Purdue when he picked off two passes, including one late in the fourth quarter to set up the game-winning field goal as time expired. - Nevada Football

He was named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week on three occasions, including after week one when he drilled a 56-yard field goal to beat Purdue. His 18 field goals rank fourth in the MW, while his 56-yard game-winner was the second-longest field goal made by anyone in the conference this season. - Nevada Football

  Toa Taua ran for 135 yards and scored on a 3-yard TD run with 12 seconds left to help Nevada beat Fresno State 35-28 on Saturday night. Ben Putman returned a punt 24 yards to the Fresno State 25 with 1:20 left and the game tied at 28. On the next play, Taua ran 21 yards to set up the Wolf Pack (7-4, 4-3 Mountain West) with a first-and-goal with 1:10 left. Taua gained 1 yard on his first two carries and then scored on third-and-goal, leaving only enough time for the Bulldogs (4-7, 2-5) to attempt multiple laterals on the ensuing kickoff before finally getting tackled after time expired. Quinton Conaway.s punt with 1:46 left in the game pinned the Bulldogs at their 3, and Jorge Reyna threw three incomplete passes before Fresno State punted. Reyna finished with 261 yards passing, three touchdowns and one interception. The loss knocks Fresno State out of bowl contention. - Nevada/AP College Football

  The Wolf Pack appears to have a captain's curse this season.

Linebacker Lucas Weber, a captain, suffered a season-ending broken ankle last month. Running back Kelton Moore, a captain, injured his ankle and has missed the last three games. And now receiver Kaleb Fossum, a captain, is out for the season after suffering a shoulder injury in Nevada's 17-13 win over San Diego State. Among Nevada's four captains, only defensive tackle Hausia Sekona has avoided injury. - Nevada Sports Net

  Brandon Talton kicked a 40-yard field goal on the final play of the game, lifting Nevada to a 41-38 victory over San Jose State on Saturday after the Spartans rallied from a 21-point deficit. Toa Taua ran for 160 yards and a touchdown for Nevada (4-2, 1-1 Mountain West Conference). On the final drive, Taua broke two tackles in the backfield and jumped over a third defender while losing his shoe for a 27-yard gain that moved the Wolf Pack passed midfield. Talton kicked the game winner six plays later.

Josh Love was 23-of-45 passing for 405 yards and threw three touchdown passes for San Jose State (3-3, 1-2). DeJon Packer had a pair of short-yardage touchdown runs in the second half. Love's 20-yard touchdown pass to Tre Walker tied the game at 31-31 midway through the fourth quarter. Taua scored on a 1-yard run to cap a 75-yard drive with about four minutes left in the game. Packer scored on a 2-yard run with 2:36 remaining. Malik Henry tossed a 75-yard touchdown pass to Romeo Doubs on the first play of the second half that stretched the Wolf Pack lead to 31-10. - Nevada/AP College Football

  Cristian Solano threw two touchdown passes to Elijah Cooks, Kelton Moore ran for two fourth-quarter scores, and Nevada beat UTEP 37-21 on Saturday night. Solano was 13-of-19 passes for 182 yards with an interception and added 100 yards rushing on 10 carries. UTEP (1-1) opened the second half with a 17-play, 75-yard drive that lasted nine minutes, 59 seconds and was capped by Kai Locksley's 1-yard touchdown run to make it 21-21 but the Miners never again crossed midfield. Brandon Talton made a 27-yard field goal with 1:49 left in the third quarter before Moore scored on runs of 5 yards and 1 yard in the fourth quarter.

Solano hit Cooks for a 28-yard touchdown to cap a nine-play, 75-yard that made it 14-all with 3:02 left in the first half. On UTEP's next play from scrimmage, Tyson Williams picked off a pass and, three plays later, Solano and Cooks connected for a 20-yard TD. Treyvon Hughes had 17 carries for 80 yards and scored two first-half touchdowns for UTEP. Toa Taua had 43 yards rushing and a score on 10 carries for Nevada (3-1). - Nevada/AP College Football
