  Kente Edwards ran for 150 yards and three touchdowns and Lafayette spoiled Columbia's season opener 38-14 on Friday night. Edwards scored on runs of 13, 3 and 3 yards. The last touchdown was critical as it capped a 14-play, 75-yard drive that chewed up more than 5 1/2 minutes to open the second half and put the Leopards ahead 24-14. Two snaps later Kevin Dodard picked off Chase Goodwin and Lafayette capitalized with the first of two 1-yard touchdown runs by Ethan Weber. Weber finished with 57 yards as the Leopards piled up 232 yards on the ground.

Columbia then put together a 13-play drive but was stopped on five straight plays from the 1-yard line. Dean DeNobile was 14-of-17 passing for 166 yards for Lafayette (3-1). Edwards has rushed for 532 yards and 10 touchdowns in the last three games. Goodwin was 15 of 34 for 195 yards with a touchdown and interception for Columbia, which is coming off a share of its first Ivy League title in 63 years.   Kente Edwards had 255 yards on the ground and four touchdowns as Lafayette beat Georgetown 42-37 on Saturday. Edwards dashed 70 yards for a Leopards' touchdown on their first offensive snap to tie the game at 7 in the first quarter. Dean DeNobile was sacked for a 9-yard loss in the red zone, fumbling on the play, and Naiteitei Mose returned it a program-record 90 yards for a touchdown. Savion Hart tied the game 21-all with a 1-yard touchdown run, and DeNobile was intercepted to end the half.

In the third quarter, DeNobile fumbled again on a sack, with Cody Pham recovering to set up a 32-yard field goal by Thomas Anderson that gave Georgetown the lead. Edwards answered with a 28-yard touchdown run, but Hart responded with his second score of the day - a 3-yard rush up the middle - to put the Hoyas back in front, 31-28. Edwards then gave Lafayette the lead once again with a 1-yard touchdown run on fourth down and put the game away with a 51-yard touchdown run to go up 42-31 in the fourth.   Kente Edwards had 127 yards rushing and scored three of Lafayette's six rushing touchdowns in a 42-26 victory over Stonehill on Saturday. Edwards scored on runs of 4 yards and 2 yards within the first 16 minutes of play for a 14-0 Lafayette lead. The Leopards' next three touchdowns were from much farther away as Jason Penza raced 29 yards, Ethan Weber 36 yards and Edwards 78 yards for a 35-6 lead early in the third quarter. Quarterback Dean DeNobile's 1-yard run for the sixth rushing touchdown made it 42-6 before Stonehill scored on two touchdown passes by Jack O'Connell and a 90-yard scoop-and-score by Richard Mosley III. The Leopards (1-1) had 319 yards rushing and Dean DeNobile passed for 132 yards.   Freshman Jamar Curtis ran 71 yards for a first-quarter touchdown, Billy Shaeffer returned an interception 50 yards for a score 57 seconds later and that was enough for Lafayette to beat Lehigh 14-11 on Saturday. Curtis' long scoring run gave Lafayette (3-8, 3-3 Patriot League) a 7-0 lead with 7:59 left in the opening quarter. Shaeffer picked off a pass from Dante Perri less than a minute later and the Leopards' defense made the two quick scores stand up. Dylan Van Dusen got Lehigh (2-9, 2-4) on the scoreboard in the second quarter with a 27-yard field goal.

Perri connected with Eric Johnson for a 13-yard touchdown with 12:06 left to play, but the two-point conversion failed and left the Mountain Hawks trailing 14-9. Lehigh added a safety with 14 seconds remaining. Curtis finished with 108 yards on 10 carries for the Leopards. Ah-Shaun Davis completed 15 of 21 passes but for only 56 yards.   Ah-Shaun Davis threw for one touchdown, Jaden Sutton and Elijah Steward both scored on the ground, and Lafayette defeated Colgate 21-16 on Saturday. The Leopards (3-6, 2-2 Patriot League) won despite not scoring in the second half, as their 21-10 halftime lead stood up. The only score of the second half was Michael Brescia's 38-yard pass to Garrett Oakey in the third quarter. The Raiders failed on a 2-point try as they tried to narrow their deficit to a field goal. Davis completed 13 of 20 passes for 140 yards, his touchdown coming on a 10-yard connection with Carl Smith. Sutton had 83 yards on 22 carries and Jamar Curtis gained 77 yards on 14 carries for the Leopards. Brescia was 13 of 23 passing for 125 yards with two touchdowns.
