  2023 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM: LB Garret Ollendieck, Indiana State, Jr.,...Ollendieck finished just shy of 100 tackles finishing with 97 in his second full season with the Sycamores. The Cresco, Iowa native took over as the Sycamores' starting middle linebacker early in the season and the move paid dividends immediately. Ollendieck finished the season with four consecutive double-digit tackling efforts including a 15-stop game against Youngstown State.

The linebacker was dominant at the point of attack, particularly along the line of scrimmage. He finished third in the MVFC in sacks (7.5) and second overall in tackles-for-loss (13.0) in the regular season. Ollendieck posted a four-game stretch against South Dakota, North Dakota, Youngstown State, and Western Illinois where he recorded a combined 47 tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss, 4.5 sacks, and three quarterback hurries. He added a pick-six for the Sycamores returning an interception 27 yards for the score against Illinois State. - Indiana State Football

  2023 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL HONORABLE MENTION: WR Harry Van Dyne,...Van Dyne was Indiana State's receiving leader in the 2023 season finishing with 43 catches for a team-high 619 yards, with two touchdowns. The Overland Park, Kan. native highlighted his year with a 10-catch, 122-yard game and a touchdown against Murray State, while adding seven catches for 110 yards against North Dakota. Van Dyne was a proven deep threat for the Sycamores posting a team-high three catches of 40-plus yards on the season including a 54-yard snag against Northern Iowa and a 51-yard reception against North Dakota. He finished eighth on the Sycamores with 32 total tackles while adding 3.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.0 sacks. Hunter highlighted his season with his first collegiate interception against North Dakota where the defensive tackle snagged the batted ball and took it back 27 yards against the Fighting Hawks. He forced a fumble against Eastern Illinois and added his first sack of the season in the finale against Southern Illinois. - Indiana State Football

The Carol Stream, Ill. native posted 41 career starts during his time at ISU including 11 at right guard in 2023. He paved the way for ISU to post 120.9 rushing yards and 264.5 yards of total offense per game and helped ISU win the time of possession battle in six of the eight MVFC games. - Indiana State Football

  2023 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM: DB Maddix Blackwell, Indiana State, R-So.,...Blackwell made major strides in his first full season starting at safety for the Sycamores. The Bloomington, Ind. native became the first Indiana State player to post 100-plus tackles in a single season since Jonas Griffith (2019) on his way to posting 107 stops on the year. He led the Valley in tackles per game (9.73) and recorded seven games with double-digit stops including a season-high 15 against Youngstown State, while adding 13 at North Dakota and 12 in the season finale against Southern Illinois.

He was adept in the turnover game playing a part in five fumbles and two interceptions on the year. Blackwell scored ISU's first points of the 2023 season with a 75-yard fumble return for a touchdown against Indiana and added a 15-yard fumble scoop-and-score against Southern Illinois in the season finale. He added a third fumble recovery against Ball State to finish second in the MVFC with three recoveries. Blackwell also posted interceptions against both Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois. - Indiana State Football

  2022 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM: DB Rylan Cole, Indiana State, So.,...Cole made a statement on opening night with eight tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss, and two interceptions in the season-opening wins against North Alabama and the sophomore rode the momentum into becoming one of the premier tacklers in the MVFC this season. The McCordsville, Ind. native finished tied for sixth in the MVFC in total tackles (84), while adding 6.0 tackles-for-loss and 11 total passes defended.   2022 ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: WR Dante Hendrix, Indiana State, R-Sr.,...Hendrix posted another strong campaign in his final season in the Sycamore Blue & White. The Florence, Ky. native finished among the Valley leaders in receptions (50) and receiving yards (719) while adding four touchdowns in 2022. He posted three 100-yard receiving efforts in MVFC play against Youngstown State (117), North Dakota State (109), and Illinois State (107). The two-time ISU team captain finished fourth in the Valley in receptions (5.0) and receiving yards (71.90) per game.   2022 JERRY RICE AWARD FINALIST: Cade Chambers, Indiana State, R-Fr., 6-4, 215 (MVFC),...Chambers is one of 25 freshmen named to the watch list for the award presented to the national freshman of the year in college football's Division I subdivision. The Maryville, Tenn. native is also the lone freshman in the Missouri Valley Football Conference to be named to the list and is one of just five quarterbacks recognized across the nation. Chambers finished the 2022 season with 938 passing yards and an 8:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio on the year. Highlighting his season included a 311-yard passing effort with five total touchdowns against Youngstown State. He earned October 16 MVFC Newcomer of the Week accolades from the contest in becoming the first ISU quarterback to top 300 passing yards since 2018.

He opened up his starting debut with a statement game against North Dakota State finishing with 162 passing yards and three total touchdowns against the Bison. He added three more touchdowns and 201 passing yards against Illinois State. The Rice Award, now in its 12th season, is named after legendary Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice. Past recipients include Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (Eastern Washington), Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds (Fordham) and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (North Dakota State). - Indiana State Football

The Cresco, Iowa native posted a game-high 10 tackles in the first half of the game against the Bears, including a clutch sack late that led to a MSU missed field goal. Ollendieck added four more stops in the second half on the way to his first double-digit tackling performance with the Sycamores. He added his first interception of the season in the third quarter to set up a short field for ISU.   NOV 14 MISSOURI VALLEY PLATER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: RB Justin Dinka, Indiana State - Dinka paced the Sycamores rushing attack against Western Illinois as ISU racked up 163 total rushing yards and held onto the ball for 38:25 in the 21-0 win over the Leathernecks. Dinka toted the ball a season-high 22 times for 97 yards and added his fifth rushing touchdown of the year in the second quarter to put ISU on the scoreboard.
