  UCLA senior wide receiver Jaylen Erwin on Tuesday became the first Bruin to enter the transfer portal in what's expected to be a busy offseason of player movement. After opening the 2020 season as a starter, Erwin made only one catch and sat out the final five games after being among a group of nine UCLA players ensnared in COVID-19 issues going into the Bruins' game against Oregon. Erwin had been one of the team's most productive receivers in 2019, making at least one catch in every game and leading the Bruins with seven catches for 63 yards against Arizona. His first sack of the day was in the first half and stopped a UT scoring drive. Clinging to a three-point lead, UT had one final drive to win or keep the game going. The Longhorns had 3rd-and-10 at the ISU 36 with :09 seconds left, but Bankston busted up the middle to sack Sam Ehlinger for a four-yard loss.   Texas Tech inside receiver KeSean Carter, underwent season-ending surgery Wednesday on a broken collarbone, Tech coach Matt Wells said. Carter caught 30 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns this season, including two TDs against Texas. With the come-from-behind victory he led last week against Baylor, Alan Bowman has a leg up to regain his starting quarterback status next week when Texas Tech visits No. 14 Oklahoma State. Neither Bowman nor Henry Colombi will be throwing any more passes this season to KeSean Carter, though. Carter underwent surgery Wednesday for a broken collarbone, Tech coach Matt Wells said, and will miss what's left of the season. Carter suffered the injury Saturday when he was tackled after catching a pass on the game-winning drive of the Red Raiders' 24-23 victory. - Lubbock Avalanche Journal
