2019 PRESEASON WUERFFEL TROPHY WATCH LIST: James Morgan, FIU, Senior, QB,...Morgan has proven he's more than just a quarterback on the field, as he has been a staple in the Miami community. The Panther has volunteered his time at numerous outings, including spending time with local youths around the area to spread the game of football. Morgan has also excelled in the classroom, as he sports an impressive 3.33 GPA at FIU.

In his first season at FIU, Morgan took the conference by storm as he earned C-USA Newcomer of the Year honors on his way to a record-breaking season. The Green Bay, Wisconsin native broke single-season school records for passing touchdowns (26), highest passer efficiency rating (157.6) and total offense per play (7.67). Morgan also garnered C-USA Honorable Mention, C-USA Spirit of Service Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List and Manning Stars of the Week to name a few distinctions. -FIU Football

Connell helped the FIU offense rank first in average points per game (34.6), total touchdowns (58), total points (450), third-down conversion percentage (46.8), and fourth-down conversion percentage (65.2). 2019 PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE USA (COACHES): PR Maurice Alexander, Sr., FIU,...Alexander had a breakout season in 2018, after making the move from quarterback to wideout and return man. The Florida City, Florida native was a highlight reel in the return game (when teams were brave enough to kick to him) as he averaged 14.6 yards per punt return to rank fifth in the nation among those with at least three returns on the year. Alexander's breakout game in 2018 came against UMass, as the Panther racked up 136 return yards and scored on a 69-yard scamper to help FIU roll over the Minutemen.
