  Keyone Jenkins threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead Florida International to a 56-16 win over Sam Houston in a regular-season finale Saturday. Jenkins' three touchdown passes came in the first quarter. The Panthers led 28-10 at halftime and were up by 42-10 heading into the fourth quarter. Jenkins was 15 of 24 for 291 yards passing and rushed for 47 more yards for the Panthers (7-5, 5-3 Conference USA). Kejon Owens rushed for 124 yards on 15 carries. Joseph Sterling rushed for 112 yards on just four carries with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a 61-yarder. Alex Perry made seven catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns and Dallas Payne had 100 yards on four receptions and a score. FIU rolled up 594 yards to 359 for the Bearkats, who had four turnovers. Landyn Locke was 14 of 30 for 121 yards passing, one TD and two interceptions for the Bearkats (2-10, 1-7). Elijah Green rushed 11 times for 98 yards. Grady O'Neill made eight catches for 70 yards and a TD. FIU, which has four straight games, now awaits a bowl berth while the Bearkats' season is over. - FIU/AP College Football

  WEEK 13 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Chad Staley, FIU - Sr. - LT - Tampa, Fla.,...In addition to his work in the trenches, Staley hauled in a one-yard receiving touchdown, becoming the first offensive lineman to score a receiving touchdown in program history. He played an integral part on the line as FIU (6-5, 4-3 CUSA) racked up 202 rushing yards in a 27-21 upset of Jax State to clinch bowl eligibility for the first time since 2019. In 16 offensive snaps, he recorded the top PFF offensive grade of any Panther offensive lineman (79.5) and the third-highest run block grade (74.1). - Conference USA Football

  Joe Pesansky threw two touchdown passes, Kejon Owen had 135 yards rushing and a TD on 21 carries, and Florida International beat Jacksonville State 27-21 on Saturday night to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2019. Florida International (6-5, 4-3 Conference USA) has won three in a row and has four conference wins for the first time since 2018. Dante Anderson forced a fumble by Caden Creel that was recovered by Johnny Chaney Jr. at the FIU 32 and two plays later Alex Perry caught a pass near midfield, eluded three would-be tacklers and raced to the end zone for a 64-yard touchdown that gave the Panthers a 24-21 lead with 12:56 left in the game.

Jacksonville State (7-4, 6-1) had its five-game win streak snapped and fell into a three-way tie with Western Kentucky and Kennesaw State atop the conference. The Gamecocks wrap up the regular season next Saturday at home against WKU. Owens opened the scoring with a 3-yard TD run with 7:06 left in the first quarter, and offensive lineman Chad Staley caught a 1-yard touch pass from Pesansky - the first scoring reception by an offensive lineman in program history - to cap a 10-play, 75-yard drive that opened the second half and made it 14-all. Noah Grant kicked field goals of 35 yards late in the third quarter and 42 yards with 1:54 to play. Creel threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Deondre Johnson and a 20-yarder to Pearson Baldwin.   WEEK 11 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Joe Pesansky, FIU - R-Sr. - QB - Tampa, Fla.,...Pesansky accounted for five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) in FIU's 56-30 road win over MTSU, the first road win over the Blue Raiders since 2011. He became the first in program history to total five touchdowns and matched a school record with four passing touchdowns in his first start for the Panthers (4-5, 2-3 CUSA). Pesansky finished 17-28 for 257 yards through the air and added 12 yards per game. In the third quarter, he completed 8-12 passes for 116 yards and two of his four touchdowns.   Joe Pesansky threw a go-ahead touchdown pass in overtime and Mister Clark intercepted Ethan Vasko to seal Florida International's 34-27 victory over Liberty on Saturday. Pesansky rallied Florida International (5-5, 3-3 Conference USA) with a 7-yard toss to Maguire Anderson and Clark ended matters six plays later. It came after Jay Billingsley kicked two field goals in the final 2:48 for Liberty (4-6, 3-3) to force overtime. He tied it with a 48-yarder with a second left. Keegan Davis sacked Vasko to set up fourth-and-6 and then forced Vasko to hurry the pass that Clark intercepted. Vasko opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Donte Lee Jr., but Pesansky answered with a 6-yard touchdown run to tie it at 7 after a quarter.

The Flames took a 14-7 lead on Vaughn Blue's 2-yard touchdown run. FIU followed with Kejon Owens' 9-yard scoring run to tie it. Liberty moved ahead 21-14 on a 1-yard scoring plunge by Evan Dickens. Noah Grant's 39-yard field goal with 1:49 remaining cut it to 21-17 at halftime. FIU took its first lead at 24-21 on Pesansky's 8-yard touchdown pass to Alex Perry early in the third. Grant's 40-yard field goal early in the fourth upped the lead to six. Pesansky completed 24 of 34 passes for 206 yards. Vasko totaled 218 yards on 17-for-31 passing with two interceptions.   Joe Pesansky accounted for five touchdowns and Florida International beat Middle Tennessee 56-30 on Saturday. The Panthers (4-5, 2/3 CUSA) scored eight touchdowns on just 404 total yards. Pesansky threw for 257 with scoring strikes to Alex Perry twice, JoJo Stone and Dallas Payne, and added a 6-yard rushing TD. Perry caught five passes for 71 yards, Stone had 64 yards receiving with a 49-yard touchdown and Kyle McNeal added five receptions for 58 yards. Kejon Owens ran 15 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns and Anthony Carrie added a 29-yard score.

The Blue Raiders (1-8, 0-5) finished with 331 yards passing and 33 rushing. Nicholas Vattiato threw for 242 yards with three touchdowns and one interception and Roman Gagliano added 89 yards and a 60-yard touchdown pass to Cam'ron Lacy. Jekail Middlebrook had five catches for 64 yards and TD, Myles Butler and AJ Jones each caught a touchdown.   WEEK 8 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Julius Pierce, FIU – Gr. – C – Sanford, Fla.,...Pierce anchored the FIU offensive line, which helped the Panthers to a season-high 249 yards on the ground in a 25-6 road win over WKU. FIU averaged 6.4 yards per carry, and the offensive line allowed just one sack on the evening. In 73 snaps at center, he didn't allow a quarterback sack, hit, hurry or pressure, and was not penalized all night. It also marked the first multi-interception game by a freshman in program history. The true freshman already has three interceptions through the first six games of his collegiate career. McGrew returned his two picks for 39 yards, including a 31-yard return from his own two-yard line.   WEEK 8 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kejon Owens, FIU – Sr. – RB – Miami, Fla.,...Just three weeks after he set a career high with 173 yards in a Shula Bowl victory, Owens once again notched a career best performance with 195 yards in FIU's (3-3, 1-1 CUSA) 25-6 upset of previous league unbeaten WKU. He averaged 8.1 yards per carry on 22 totes and found the endzone once for his sixth touchdown of the season. Owens' 195 rushing yards are the most by a Panther in more than 20 years, dating back to the 2004 season. He also added two catches for seven yards to put him over the 200-yard mark for all-purpose yardage.   Kejon Owens rushed for a career-high 195 yards and a touchdown, Jessiah McGrew made two interceptions and Florida International beat Western Kentucky 25-6 on Tuesday night to snap a 10-game road losing streak. The last road victory for FIU came on Oct. 18, 2023. The Panthers also ended a five-game losing streak in the series against WKU, with their first victory since 2018. Keyone Jenkins passed for 184 yards and a touchdown for FIU (3-3, 1-1 Conference USA). Alex Perry caught three passes for 86 yards.

Maverick McIvor threw three interceptions for WKU (5-2, 3-1) after entering with just two on the season. He was 20 of 31 for 159 yards. Marvis Parrish rushed for 74 yards. Noah Grant made his fourth field goal of the first half - from 51-yards out - to give FIU a 19-3 lead with 2:57 left.   Keyone Jenkins and Kejon Owens each ran for two touchdowns as Florida International rolled to a 41-9 win over Bethune-Cookman in a season opener for both teams on Friday night. The game started an hour and 15 minutes late due to a weather delay. Owens rushed for a 2-yard score in the first quarter and had 71 yards on 11 attempts. FIU scored 21 points in the second quarter, starting with a 16-yard run from Owens for his second touchdown. Jenkins had a 6-yard scramble for a score, and Devonte Lyons ran 35 yards for another to make it 28-3.

Jenkins scored again on a keeper and finished with three yards on five carries. He was 18 for 31 passing for 187 yards. Anthony Carrie scored in the fourth quarter for the Panthers, who tied a school record with six rushing touchdowns. It was FIU's first win over Bethune-Cookman after losing four straight. Juan Dominguez went 3-3 on field goals for Bethune-Cookman, connecting from 35, 22 and 28 yards out. Timmy McClain went 18 for 28 and had 164 yards for the Wildcats.
