  SEPT 16/WEEK 3 PIONEER LEAGUE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sam Webster, Dayton, Freshman, Kicker, Richfield, Ohio,...Webster's first field goal attempt as a Flyer went for 53 yards and he contributed 10 points in Dayton's 34-31 victory against Robert Morris, Saturday. His 53-yard boot midway through the second quarter was the third longest in Dayton history and the longest by a freshman. Webster tacked on a 23-yard field goal just before halftime that gave Dayton a 20-17 halftime lead.   SEPT 9/WEEK 2 PIONEER LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tim Simon, Dayton, Senior, Safety, Morton Grove, Illinois,...Simon had three passes defended, including a first-quarter interception, in Dayton's 42-35 upset win at #14 Indiana State, Saturday. After both teams scored on their opening possessions, Simon intercepted a pass to stall the Sycamores' offense. He also had a pass breakup in the second quarter to stop an Indiana State drive after Dayton took a 21-7 lead. Simon had 11 tackles (six solo) and was credited with half a tackle for loss on Dayton's lone tackle behind the line of scrimmage. - Pioneer League Football

After seeing the Flyers defense force a three-and-out to keep the game tied, Cook led his team on a 10-play, 85-yard drive, completing each of his four pass attempts and running three times on his own - each time for a first down - before handing the ball to Sean Prophit for the go-ahead score.
