  Wesley Dugger ran for two touchdowns and blocked a punt that resulted in another score and Davidson defeated Stetson 42-14 on Saturday. Dugger set the Pioneer Football League record for career rushing touchdowns with his first score and increased it to 44 with his second. Tied at 14 at halftime, the Wildcats scored four unanswered touchdowns in the second half. In the third quarter, Dugger scored on a 1-yard run and blocked a punt that Hunter Murphy returned 15 yards for a touchdown. In the fourth, Tyler Phelps threw to Jalen Staples for a 20-yard touchdown and Louis Colosimo threw 66 yards to Aris Hilliard for another touchdown. There were only five incomplete passes in the game. Davidson (8-3, 5-2 Pioneer) went 5 for 5 in the air with Phelps completing his four attempts for 137 yards and Colosimo completing his only attempt. Gaven DeFilippo completed 13 of 17 for 95 yards and Alex Piccirilli was 2 of 3 for 57 yards with a touchdown for the Hatters (6-4, 3-4). - AP College Football

  Wesley Dugger ran for 118 yards to become Davidson's all-time leading rusher and scored two touchdowns as the Wildcats used a big second quarter to roll past Butler 52-10 on Saturday. Dugger, a junior, increased his career yardage to 3,247 to pass John Leverett (2001-04), who had 3,165. Dugger also rushed for over 100 yards for the 14th time. One of Dugger's touchdowns, an 18-yarder, capped a 33-point second quarter with just over a minute left in the half. He added a 3-yard score in the third quarter. Three Davidson quarterbacks combined to complete only three of 10 passes but two tosses went for touchdowns, including a 69-yard play from Louis Colosimo to Jayden Waddell. The Wildcats rushed for 458 of their 549 total yards. The victory gave Davidson (7-3, 4-2 Pioneer Football League) seven wins for the first time since 2002 and four league victories for the first time since 2007.   Wesley Dugger ran for a touchdown late in the game to give Davidson a 27-21 win over Valparaiso on Saturday. The teams were tied 21-all when Dugger powered in from the 1 to give the Wildcats (6-3, 3-2 Pioneer League) the winning edge. Ragnar Schmidt missed the extra point, leaving it at 27-21 with two minutes remaining. After the kickoff, George Hatalowich intercepted Chris Duncan, ending Valparaiso's comeback hopes. Dugger finished with 106 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Wildcats. Tyler Phelps threw for 72 yards and a score.

Dugger's 3-yard touchdown run capped Davidson's first drive. Bradyn Oakley forced a Valparaiso fumble on the kickoff which was recovered by Sean Holton. Ten plays later, Jorell Story ran it in from the 7 to give the Wildcats a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter. Phelps threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Story late in the third for a 21-13 Wildcats' lead, but Valparaiso tied it 21-all on the next drive when Duncan ran for a score then made good on the 2-point conversion pass. Duncan had 123 yards passing and a touchdown and ran for 58 yards and another score to lead the Crusaders (1-8, 1-4). - AP College Football

  OCT 21 PIONEER LEAGUE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Wesley Dugger, Davidson, Junior, Running Back, Henrico, Virginia,...Set a Davidson record and tied the PFL record with five rushing touchdowns in a 49-19 victory at Jacksonville, Saturday. He finished the day with 22 carries for 193 yards, the third-best rushing performance of his career and best this season. Dugger punched in each of his touchdowns from the five-yard line or closer. He also had a 74-yard dash that set up one of his touchdowns. It was his third multi-TD performance this season.   Wesley Dugger scored five rushing touchdowns, all within 5 yards or less, and Davidson defeated Jacksonville 49-19 on Saturday. Dugger now owns the program record for rushing touchdowns with 37 and passed John Leverett and Ray Sinclair. Dugger's 193 rushing yards gives him 2,940 for his career and moved him into third place all time ahead of Eric Ferguson. Leverett (3,165) and Sinclair (3,085) are within the junior's reach.

His 193 rushing yards, on 22 carries, was just shy of Jacksonville's 224 yards of total offense. The Wildcats ran 73 running plays for 521 yards and attempted only six passes, completing two. Dugger's first three scores -- on runs of 1, 3 and 3 yards -- gave the Wildcats a 21-0 lead 21 minutes into the game. His fourth touchdown gave Davidson (5-2, 2-1 Pioneer) a 28-3 lead in the third quarter and the Wildcats added three more scores in the fourth. Calvin Turner Jr. threw for 143 yards, including a 9-yard touchdown to Ish Cortes for the Dolphins (2-5, 0-3). BJ Byrd ran 20 yards for their other touchdown. - AP College Football
