  10/25/22 - Matthew CindricrSr/2024, California, 6-4, 295 (DS#21 C) + More +

Cal Coach Justin Wilcox announced after the game that fifth-year senior offensive lineman Matthew Cindric, a team caption whose 33 career starts are the most on the team, is out for the season. Cindric began the season as the Bears' center then was moved to right guard. He was injured early in the Colorado game a week ago. "He's an extremely tough guy," Wilcox said. "He got injured early in the game last week and really didn't mention it, just played the entire game. Unfortunately, it's an injury that needs to be repaired. He is a warrior of a person." "A big loss," Plummer called it. - Oakland Tribune

  08/27/22 - Brett JohnsonrSr/2024, California, 6-4, 295 (DS#999 DT) + More +

California defensive lineman Brett Johnson will miss a second straight season after going down with a lower-body injury. Coach Justin Wilcox said Saturday that Johnson got hurt in practice on Thursday and will miss the entire season. Cal said the injury is unrelated to the broken hip Johnson suffered in a car accident that forced him to miss the 2021 season. "Brett is one of the toughest and most dedicated football players I have ever been around," Wilcox said. "Although this is a difficult situation for him, I am confident that he will return to the field in 2023. He has the unwavering support of all his coaches, teammates and everyone in our football program. It is important for us to rally around each other as a team and respond positively to this adversity." Johnson was a preseason pick for the Pac-12 second team by the coaches. He has 46 tackles, six tackles for loss and three sacks in 17 career games since arriving at Cal in 2019. - AP College Football

  07/31/22 - Lachlan WilsonrSr/2025, California, 6-3, 193 (DS#21 P) + More +

2022 PRESEASON RAY GUY WATCHLIST: Lachlan Wilson - Tulsa,...Wilson (6-3, 194) played Australian Rules Football and did not begin playing American football until he came to Tulsa in the fall of 2019. After redshirting one season he took over as the punter in 2020 and averaged 42.9 yards on 42 punts … placed 14 inside the 20-yard line, 15 were fair caught and nine traveled 50 or more yards. Last season he punted 61 times for 2,787 yards. According to the calculator on our I-Phone that is an average of 45.69 per each (an achievement that so dumbfounded the Tulsa PR staff that it failed to do the math and list the average). Of them, 21 were inside the 20 and 23 for 50 or more yards. Played Australian Football for the Heidelberg Football Club … started for four years … played the full forward position, which required punting for goals and passing. - Tulsa Football
