  2022 BIG SOUTH SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Anthony Frederick, KR, Sr., Bryant,...Frederick (Hollywood, Fla.) was the Big South's leader in kickoff returns with a 30.03 average -- just the fourth time a Big South player averaged 30.0 in a season. He is the national leader with 901 combined kick return yards, while his return average is third-best in FCS. Frederick earned Big South and National Special Teams Player of the Week honors after posting 197 return yards at Brown in Week 3 -- which featured a Big South record-tying 100-yard kickoff return touchdown. He had a kickoff return of 30+ yards in nine of 11 games. Frederick received 18 points and four first-place votes from the panel, ahead of Charleston Southern punter David Gelb (15 points and two first-place votes) and Campbell kicker Caleb Dowden (15 points and one first-place vote). - Big South Football

  NOV 7 BIG SOUTH FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS OF THE WEEK: Bryant kicker Ethan Gettman (Daytona Beach, Fla.) made 3-of-3 field goals and finished with 13 points in Bryant's 43-37 Big South win over Campbell. He made a program-record 56-yard field goal, and tied his single-game school record of three field goals with successful attempts from 43 and 33 yards as well. - Big South Football

  SEPT 26 BIG SOUTH CO-SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bryant kicker Ethan Gettman (Daytona Beach, Fla.) made the game-winning, 37-yard field goal as time expired to lift Bryant past Long Island, 31-29. It was a season-long and his only field goal attempt of the game, as he was 4-of-4 on PATs. Gettman's first chance at the game-winner was 32 yards, but was waved off due to a false start penalty. - Big South Football

  SEPT 19 STATS FCS NATIONAL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Anthony Frederick, Bryant, WR/KR, Sr., 5-11, 180, Hollywood, Florida,...Frederick became the first FCS player to go 100 yards for a touchdown this season, returning a kickoff from Bryant's goal line in a 44-38, double-overtime loss at Brown. He added 97 yards on four other returns and caught two passes for 35 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown, as part of his 232 all-purpose yards. In Bryant's first season in the Big South, Frederick ranks first in the FCS in kickoff returns (12) and return yards (408), and third in return average (34).   SEPT 19 BIG SOUTH SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bryant return specialist Anthony Frederick (Hollywood, Fla.) who was also named the FedEx Ground FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week by Stats Perform, returned five kickoffs for 197 yards at Brown, which included a Big South record-tying 100-yard return for a touchdown. His 39.4 yards per return average is the second-highest in a single-game in league history (based on a minimum five returns), while his 197 kickoff returns yards are 10th-most in a game in the conference record book. Frederick totaled a career-high 232 all-purpose yards in Saturday's contest.   2022 PRESEASON ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES/MEDIA): LS David McCain, Jr., Bryant,...Bryant University football linebacker Joe Andreessen was named to the Preseason All-Big South team, the league announced on Tuesday during the Big South Football Media Day presented by BuyB1.com. In addition, wide receiver David Zorrilla and long snapper David McCain were named honorable mention selections to the preseason team. Bryant was slated to finish fifth in the six-team league, receiving one first-place vote. North Carolina A&T was picked to win the league by a vote of the coaches. He made 7-of-10 field goals and 39-of-40 PATs, finishing the year with 60 points. Samperi made a season-long field goal of 41 yards at Marist and closed his career by making his final PATs.   2021 ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): DL Kenny Dyson, Jr., Bryant, Jr.,...Dyson Jr. is recognized on the All-NEC teams for the first time in his career this fall. One of the most feared rush ends in the NEC, Dyson Jr. posted 35.0 tackles, 7.0 sacks and 12.0 TFLs. He ranked second in the NEC in sacks per game and fourth in TFLs per game. Dyson Jr. posted at least a half sack in six of 11 games and had at least 1.0 TFLs in eight of 11 contests. After missing all four games in the spring, Saddler returned with a vengeance this fall, averaging 8.3 tackles per game and adding a sack, 6.0 TFLs, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Saddler made at least five tackles in all but one game and poste double-digit tackles on three occasions.
