The senior defensive end totaled five tackles as the Pioneers limited Patriot League member Lehigh to 3.5 yards per play. Agyemang made 3.0 tackles-for-loss highlighted by a fourth-quarter strip sack that allowed SHU to keep a one-point lead with under 3:00 remaining. His first key stop dropped the running back for a two-yard loss on 1st-and-Goal, leading to a turnover on downs in the opening quarter. Agyemang logged a QB hurry on first down, helping the Pioneers force a three-and-out on Lehigh's last possession of the first half.   NOV 11 MAC WEST DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ball State KR Malik Dunner,...Ball State senior kick returner Malik Dunner (Carpentersville, Ill.) returned the second half opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown to spark a Ball State second half rally, that eventually ended in a 35-31 loss at Western Michigan on Nov. 5. The kickoff return for a touchdown was Dunner's second career kickoff return for a touchdown (93-yard touchdown vs. UAB on Sept. 9, 2017). It was the fourth 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Ball State history. The most recent Cardinal to accomplish that feat was Dante Love against Central Michigan in 2007. - MAC Football

  Drew Plitt threw three touchdowns and Malik Dunner ran for two scores and Ball State dominated Toledo 52-14 on Saturday. The Cardinals (4-3, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) built a 38-0 lead by halftime. Plitt threw touchdowns of 24 and 39 yards to Riley Miller in a 2 1/2-minute span following Ryan Rimmler's 42-yard field goal in the first quarter for a 17-0 lead. Dunner had a 51-yard touchdown run early in the second. Before intermission, Walter Fletcher had a 3-yard TD run and Plitt threw a 36-yard score to Justin Hall. Ball State outgained Toledo in total yardage 580-309 with 374 coming from the Cardinals' rushing attack.

Ball State converted half their 12 third-down conversion attempts and were 2 of 2 on fourth down. Plitt was 11-for-17 passing for 206 yards, Caleb Huntley ran for 119 yards on 20 carries and Dunner tallied 90 yards on two carries. His 39-yard TD run with 1:53 left in the third quarter made it 52-7.   Drew Plitt threw two touchdown passes, ran for two more scores and rallied Ball State in the second half to beat Eastern Michigan 29-23 on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals (3-3, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) trailed by three at halftime and fell behind 23-14 late in the third quarter. Plitt rallied his team, rolling right to unleash a 46-yard scoring strike to Justin Hall to close to 23-21. He then made good following an EMU interception with an 11-play, 61-yard drive capped by a 1-yard keeper for another Ball State touchdown.

His 2-point conversion pass to Riley Miller gave the Cardinals a 29-23 edge with 11:36 to play. EMU was threatening to score again with eight seconds left when Jordan Williams sacked Mike Glass III nine yards out, forcing a fumble which was recovered by Ball State's Amechi Uzodinma II to preserve the Cardinals' win. Glass threw for 283 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more scores for the Eagles (3-3, 0-2). He was intercepted three times. - Ball State/AP College Football

  OCT 7/WEEK 6 MAC West Division Co-Offensive Player of the Week: Ball State RB Caleb Huntley,...Ball State junior running back Caleb Huntley (Atlanta, Ga.) piled up a season-high 157 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 27-20 win at Northern Illinois on Saturday. The 157 yards rushing were only two yards shy of his career-high and he carried the ball a career-high 35 times.   Caleb Huntley ran 35 times for 157 yards and two TDs, and Ball State rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat Northern Illinois 27-20 in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams on Saturday. The Cardinals (2-3) trailed 17-3 at halftime and Ryan Rimmler kicked a 25-yard field goal to cut into the deficit in the middle of the third quarter. On the ensuing possession, the Huskies (1-4) fumbled deep in their territory. Huntley scored on the first play - a 3-yard run - and Drew Plitt passed to Justin Hall for the two-point conversion, pulling Ball State to 17-14. Rimmler kicked a 42-yard field goal late in the third quarter to tie it at 17. Huntley followed with a 45-yard TD run to give the Cardinals a 24-17 lead. Plitt's six touchdown passes tied the school mark with Keith Wenning (6 vs. Miami (Ohio) in 2013) and is tied for fifth in MAC history for touchdown passes in a single-game. Plitt notched career highs in completions (32) and passing yards (439), as his 439 passing yards ranked fourth on Ball State's single game passing list.   Drew Plitt passed for 439 yards and a school-record-tying six touchdowns and Ball State won its 10th straight home opener with a 57-29 victory over Fordham on Saturday. Plitt's passing yardage is the fourth highest in team history and the 57 points is the Cardinals' fourth highest total all-time. The Cardinals scored a team-record 66 points in a 1977 win over Cal Poly Pomona. Plitt's six TD passes matched the mark set by Keith Wenning in 2013 in a win over Miami (Ohio).

Fordham (0-2) jumped out to a 7-0 first-quarter lead on Zach Davis' 2-yard run. Plitt answered for Ball State (1-1), connecting with Justin Hall on a 50-yard scoring strike to knot the score at 7. The Rams reclaimed the lead when Tim DeMorat hooked up with Jack Lynch for a 5-yard score, but Walter Fletcher's 10-yard TD run with 57 seconds left in the first quarter tied the game at 14-all.   Danny Smith threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, leading Villanova past Colgate 34-14 on Saturday in the first game of the 150th season of college football. Justin Covington contributed 134 yards, his first game reaching 100 yards, and the defense set the tone with two early takeaways, including a touchdown for cornerback Jaquan Amos. The Wildcats, picked to finish ninth in the CAA, piled up 444 yards against the Patriot League favorite Raiders, the two-time defending league championships who gave up just six points in their first seven games last season.

After a fumble late in the scoreless first quarter, Jalen Jackson turned a dump off from Smith into the first touchdown of the new season, covering 18 yards. Amos had a 27-yard interception return a minute later. Smith completed the 27-point quarter with a 45-yard pass to Changa Hodge and a 15-yarder to Andrew Perez, his first career reception. The Wildcats had a 271-99 advantage in total offense at the break.   2019 PRESEASON ALL-NORTHEAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL TEAM (COACHES): DL Chris Agyemang, Sacred Heart, Sr.,...Agyemang enjoyed a breakout 2018 season in which the then-junior earned Division I All-New England Team and All-NEC First Team honors. He ranked fourth in the NEC with seven total sacks as well as 15.5 tackles for loss while appearing in all 11 games. Agyemang ranked second on the team with 55 total tackles and added in a forced fumble and fumble recovered.
