  12/10/22 - Andre Carter IISr/2023, Army, 6-7, 256 (DS#19 DE) + More +

Navy's Anton Hall Jr. lost a fumble at the goal line in the second overtime that helped set up Quinn Maretzki's game-winning 39-yard field goal as Army beat The Midshipmen 20-17 on Saturday night in the first OT game in the 123 games of the rivalry series. There wasn't much offense throughout the game until the waning moments of regulation when Maretzki kicked a 37-yarder with 1:53 left to tie the game at 10-all. A thrilling overtime followed. The NCAA instituted overtime in 1996, and the series had never had to go a little extra to settle one of the sport's greatest rivalry games.

Army's Markel Johnson ran 25 yards for a touchdown on the first play of overtime for a 17-10 lead, and Navy matched the Black Knights when Xavier Arline tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Maquel Haywood that made it 17-all. It was Navy's first completion of the game and Arline had perhaps the sweetest 1 of 1 for 25-yard game in Navy history. He also rushed for 102 yards. Hall - who earlier raced 77 yards for a TD - coughed up the ball as he plunged toward the end zone and stood crestfallen after the game at Lincoln Financial Field as fireworks went off. Navy still leads the series against Army 62-54-7. The Black Knights, though, have won five of the last seven meetings. Army finished 6-6 and Navy was 4-8. The teams combined for only 53 yards passing. - Army/AP College Football

  11/26/22 - Tyhier TylerrSr/2023, Army, 5-08, 183 (DS#999 QB) + More +

Tyhier Tyler ran for three second-quarter touchdowns and Army staked UMass to a 7-0 first-quarter lead, then rolled to a 44-7 win over the Minutemen on Saturday afternoon. The senior now has 12 rushing touchdowns and is the first Army quarterback to run for 10 or more touchdowns in a season since Kelvin Hopkins Jr. ran for 17 in 2018. Tyler completed both of his pass attempts and carried 11 times for 101 yards to lead the Black Knights. Army (5-6) ran for 329 yards and six touchdowns, with Tyler scoring on runs of 27, 4 and 1 yard. Jakobi Buchanan scored twice and Bryson Daily added a 54-yard run for a touchdown with 90 seconds left.

Army's defense held UMass to just 90 yards on the ground, much of it on the opening drive. Merriweather ran for 36 yards as the Minutemen marched 75 yards in nine plays to score on a 2-yard run by Gino Campiotti four minutes into the game. Merriweather finished with 49 yards on five carries. Brady Olson was 13 of 24 passing for 145 yards for UMass (1-11) and was intercepted twice. Army is now 5-0 all-time against the Minutemen. The Black Knights will have a week off before they face Navy December 10th in Philadelphia. - Army/AP College Football

Quarterback Tyhier Tyler's 4-yard touchdown run stretched the Black Knights' lead to 27-17 late in the third. UConn's last possessions ended with two punts and two interceptions. Tyler attempted just one pass and finished with 70 yards rushing for Army (4-6). He scored on a 2-yard run in the fourth. Victor Rosa rushed for 105 of his 111 yards in the first half and a touchdown for UConn (6-6).   10/22/22 - Jemel JonesSr/2023, Army, 5-10, 200 (DS#999 QB) + More +

Jemel Jones scored a career-high three touchdowns and Army rallied in the second half to beat Louisiana-Monroe 48-24 on Saturday. Jones, who began the year as the third-string quarterback, started his second straight game and rushed for 96 of Army's 441 yards on the ground. After Quinn Maretzki tied the game at 17-all with a field goal early in the third quarter, the Black Knights (3-4) scored twice more in the period to pull away.

Leo Lowin's interception led to Jones' third touchdown, a 6-yarder, to take the lead. Ay'Jaun Marshall's 36-yard catch - one of two completions for Army - set up the Black Knights at the ULM 9 and Tyson Riley scored from the 3 in the final minute of the third. Bryson Daily capped Army's 34-point second half with a 64-yard run late in the game. Chandler Rogers threw for two touchdowns and was intercepted once for the Warhawks (2-6). He threw a 12-yard scoring pass to Boogie Knight and Andrew Henry ran for a 10-yard score in the second quarter. The loss was the 19th straight on the road for the Warhawks. - Army/AP College Football

  10/15/22 - Leo LowinSr/2024, Army, 6-0, 228 (DS#51 ILB) + More +

Jemel Jones ran for two touchdowns in his first start this season and Army defeated Colgate 42-17 on Saturday. With the Black Knights (2-4) missing several key players because of injuries, including quarterback Tyhier Tyler and running back Tyrell Robinson, senior quarterback Jones made his first start of the season and finished with 113 yards rushing on 12 carries including a 75-yard run that gave Army its first points.

Jones' 1-yard TD capped an eight-minute drive to open the second half and Leo Lowin's interception set up Markel Johnson's 24-touchdown run for a 42-17 lead heading in the fourth quarter. Johnson came in with 19 yards on four carries this season. Army, second in the nation in rushing at 286.6, had 281 yards by halftime including four TDs and led 28-17. The Black Knights finished with 467 yards offense, all on the ground. Colgate's Michael Brescia was 16-of-25 passing including his first TD throw of the season, a 19-yarder to Treyvohn Saunders. Breshia rushed for another 78 yards and a score. Army has won the last seven meetings with the Raiders (1-5). - Army/AP College Football

  09/17/22 - Tyhier TylerrSr/2023, Army, 5-08, 183 (DS#999 QB) + More +

Tyhier Tyler ran for three touchdowns, Tyson Riley added a career-high 158 yards rushing and Army returned to its running roots in beating Villanova 49-10 on Saturday, giving coach Jeff Monken a landmark victory. A week after their first 300-yard passing game since 2007 in an overtime loss to UTSA, the Black Knights (1-2) ran for 472 yards in Monken's 59th win at Army, breaking a second-place tie with Charles Daly (1913-16, 1919-22). Red Blaik (1941-58) is the leader at 121. "That doesn't have anything to do with me," Monken said of his move up the Army victory list. "It's these great players and and the players that have played here in the last few years that I've been here. I'm very fortunate to be the coach at West Point. I love this place. It's incredible to be able serve the Army and to serve this institution as the head coach and, you know, I hope there's a bunch more to come." Army threw one pass, which was incomplete, while rushing for the most yards ever given up by Villanova. Jakobi Buchanan, listed at 6-feet, 260 pounds, rumbled 55 yards to help set up Tyler's 7-yard score in the first quarter. That was Buchanan's only carry as he left the game with a left knee injury. - Army/AP College Football
