Don't blame the offense for Arkansas State's regression. The Red Wolves boast the Sun Belt's most productive unit (479.8 yards per game), top pass offense (349.7 yards per game) and arguably most explosive player in Jonathan Adams Jr. The senior wide receiver leads the conference in receptions (79), receiving yards (1,111) and touchdown catches (12). The Cajuns didn't test ULM in the air very much, nor did they need to after chewing up 344 yards rushing. - The News-Star

More than a month after linebackers Luke Fulton and Charles Willekes were suspended from the Michigan State's football team following assault charges, they entered the NCAA transfer portal Monday. Fulton and Willekes, two redshirt freshmen, were disciplined last month, five days before the start of the season. They were both arrested Sept. 8 following an incident at Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house in East Lansing. Fulton posted $1,000 bond. His charges were reduced to assault and battery and, after his plea was accepted in district court, he was granted Holmes Youthful Trainee Act status.

In Michigan, offenders younger than 24 who have pleaded to criminal offenses can have their court records closed to public view under HYTA. Under the law, such records remain closed unless the trainee commits another offense. Willekes, a 6-1, 225-pound walk-on from Rockford, is the brother of former two-time All-American Kenny Willekes. He played in one game last season on special teams against Michigan and was the scout team special teams player of the week from MSU's 2019 season opener against Tulsa. - Lansing State Journal

Tennessee dismissed outside linebacker Kivon Bennett from the football team on Tuesday, hours after he was arrested during a traffic stop. "There is a standard our student-athletes are expected to uphold at Tennessee, and today's incident fell well short of that standard," coach Jeremy Pruitt said in a statement. Bennett was stopped Tuesday around 11:21 a.m. by campus police, who clocked him driving 59 mph in a 45-mph zone. The police report said an officer asked Bennett if he had marijuana in the vehicle and that Bennett said he did. Police reported finding more than 44 grams of marijuana, a scale, 58 plastic baggies and a loaded 9mm handgun, according to the police report. Having more than half an ounce of marijuana is a felony in Tennessee. Bennett is the son of Cornelius Bennett, who was the No. 2 pick of the 1987 NFL Draft and a five-time Pro Bowler. - AP College Football
