  10/21/20 - Jake YurachekrSr/2023, Arkansas, 6-0, 230 (DS#999 ILB) + More +

University of Arkansas linebacker Jake Yurachek, the son of UA Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek, was arrested just after midnight on Sunday by the UA Police Department and now faces suspicion of DWI and other charges. Yurachek and the Razorbacks had a few hours earlier nailed down the program's first SEC home victory since 2016, snapping a 12-game losing streak in such games with a 33-21 victory at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Yurachek, 20, also faces charges of careless driving and possession of fraudulent identification in the incident, which occurred after a UAPD officer spotted Yurachek's Silverado truck strike a curb at the corner of Dickson St. and Harmon Ave.

According to the UAPD report of the arrest, the officer smelled the odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle after Yurachek was stopped and noticed that he had bloodshot watery eyes. The report states Yurachek produced a Texas driver's license that identified him as Hunter Yurachek. He was taken into the Washington County Detention Center after the arresting officer performed a field sobriety test. According to the report, Yurachek agreed to give a breath sample and produced a final reading of 0.178 on the blood alcohol count. Yurachek was booked into the detention center at 1:22 a.m. and released at 3:44 a.m. His bond was not posted on the detention center website. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Treylon Burks' acrobatic fourth-quarter touchdown catch was SportsCenter's No. 1 play of the day, but the sophomore was key throughout the drive. With Arkansas leading 20-14 and momentum seeming to turn in Ole Miss' favor, the Razorbacks began the drive at their 30-yard line with 12:06 remaining. Burks rushed for 11 and 5 yards on the first two plays of the drive. Running back Rakeem Boyd converted a third down, and two plays later Burks caught a pass for 16 yards on a second-and-9 that moved the ball to the Ole Miss 19. - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/18/20 - Hudson ClarkrSr/2025, Arkansas, 6-1, 194 (DS#19 FS) + More +

The Arkansas Razorbacks had as many interceptions Saturday against Ole Miss as they had in 12 games all of last season. Rebels quarterback Matt Corral had thrown just one interception in 88 passes the first three games - in the opener against Florida - but the Razorbacks picked him off six times as the University of Arkansas beat Ole Miss 33-21. During last season's 2-10 season that included an 0-8 SEC mark, the University of Arkansas combined for six interceptions. The six interceptions Saturday tied for the most the Razorbacks have had against an SEC team since joining the conference in 1992. They also had six in a 52-6 victory over Mississippi State in 2003.

Cornerback Hudson Clark led the Razorbacks with three interceptions. Safety Jalen Catalon, nickel back Greg Brooks and linebacker Grant Morgan each had one apiece. "That's coaching, that's playing, that's being in position, that's reading eyes," Arkansas Coach Sam Pittman said of the interceptions. "That kid Corral had one interception going into today. We picked him six times, so that's coaching and that's players learning and obviously being able to get it done as well." Arkansas is the second SEC team in as many weeks to have six interceptions. Kentucky also did it in a 24-2 victory over Mississippi State the previous Saturday. The Arkansas school record for interceptions is nine against SMU in 1970. The Razorbacks had eight against SMU in 1951, and seven against Texas Tech in 1966 and Rice in 1986. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Clark had nine interceptions as a senior at Highland Park High School, but he said the only other time he'd had three interceptions was in a freshman game. "I was pretty far back on the depth chart," Clark said after Saturday's game when asked whether he ever expected to be in a starting role. "But the coaches stressed to me and my teammates to come out every week and give our best." Arkansas senior linebacker Grant Morgan, a team captain, said he's not surprised by Clark's play.

"Ol' Hud, I tell you right now three weeks ago we knew about him," said Morgan, who had 19 tackles and an interception return for a touchdown. "We knew what he could do. We knew he was capable of this. "The kid has more confidence than anybody in the [defensive] room. To be thrown out there like he was at Mississippi State and do as well as he's done these past two weeks, we're not surprised by it because we see it every day. "I see a little bit of myself in him, but I tell you right now, he's better than me." Clark's three interceptions tied for the second most by a Razorback behind Wear Schoonover, who had five against Texas A&M in 1929. - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/18/20 - Grant MorganrSr/2022, Arkansas, 5-11, 224 (DS#31 ILB) + More +

Without his counterpart at linebacker, Grant Morgan was called upon to stop an Ole Miss team that scored 48 points and put up 647 yards in its previous game against Alabama. Morgan needed only one healthy arm to answer the call. With a brace on his left arm that would barely let him move his elbow, Morgan led the team with 19 tackles, a sack, and an interception that he returned for a touchdown as the Razorbacks defeated Ole Miss 33-21 on Saturday. Morgan won the Crip Hall Award that is presented to Arkansas' most outstanding senior on Homecoming. It was going to take more than an injured arm to keep him out of the game.

"It's going to have to take a lot. I love playing football. I love being a Razorback," Morgan said. "Football is a painful game, so if there is no pain in it, then nothing is getting done. So it's going to have to take a lot. It's going to have to come falling off." Morgan's toughness also earned him praise from Razorback quarterback Feleipe Franks. "I think it's a sign of resilience to play through injury," Franks said. "He could easily say he couldn't go. To go out there and go and have the game he had, it showed resilience, not only with him but our defense and our team. I thought it was a really good job by him." Bumper Pool, who was tied for first in the SEC in tackles (36) and tied for second nationally in tackles per game (12.0) going into the Ole Miss game, didn't participate in Arkansas' game against the Rebels, but the Arkansas defense wasn't deterred. - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/18/20 - *Treylon BurksJr/2022, Arkansas, 6-2, 224 (DS#4 WR) + More +

Treylon Burks made a catch worthy of Sundays when it mattered most Saturday. Facing third-and-1 at the Ole Miss 7, Arkansas quarterback Feleipe Franks tossed a fade ball in to the corner of the end zone in a spot only Burks could get it. And he did. Burks left his feet, extended his right arm, snagged Franks' pass with only his right hand and tapped his right foot down mere inches from the sideline. The touchdown gave Arkansas a 26-14 lead with 7:36 remaining and essentially sealed Arkansas' 33-21 victory over the Rebels - the Razorbacks' first SEC home win since 2016. Burks knew it would stand. Following a brief review, it did. "The catch, it didn't surprise me," said Burks, a Warren native. "I do it in practice. It's just something I work on and something I want to get better at. "I had to sit out last week against Auburn. I just came back confident and I knew my teammates had confidence in me, so I just went in and played for them and the Arkansas Razorback nation."

Asked where the touchdown ranks among the many he has scored throughout his successful career, Burks said he isn't into that kind of thing. "Who knows," he said. "I'm just glad we scored and we got a win." One week after traveling but not being healthy enough to play in the controversial 30-28 loss to the Tigers because of a first-half knee injury suffered at Mississippi State the week before, Burks set career highs in receptions (11) and receiving yards (137). - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/17/20 - Feleipe FranksrSr/2021, Arkansas, 6-7, 234 (DS#12 QB) + More +

Without question, the Arkansas quarterback has improved every week. He has passed for 730 yards, including 212 at Starkville and 318 at Auburn. He might have to beat those numbers this week if the Hogs are going to keep up with the Rebels. The best thing Franks has done the last two weeks is help the Hogs avoid turnovers. He didn't throw an interception at Auburn while playing in wet conditions. Pittman has praised Franks a couple of times this week. On his radio show, the coach said, "What he's done is he's allowed us to come in here in our first year and start changing the view of Arkansas football. He's an excellent quarterback, an excellent leader. He's what we are, he's tough. You've seen him tuck the ball and get extra yards. He's making really good decisions and he's helped us put Arkansas back to where we belong and it'll help us in recruiting." - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/16/20 - Levi DraperrSr/2022, Arkansas, 6-0, 223 (DS#999 ILB) + More +

Arkansas junior linebacker Levi Draper underwent successful surgery, his mother, Rustin Draper, said in a Twitter post Tuesday. The post did not specify the nature of Levi Draper's surgery, but a source said it was to repair a torn labrum suffered during the Razorbacks' season opener against Georgia. Draper has not played in Arkansas' past two games. "Would do anything to be healthy and be on the field with those boys, but I'm so proud to be (a part) of this group, wouldn't trade it for anything," Draper tweeted following the Razorbacks' 30-28 loss at Auburn on Saturday. Draper transferred to Arkansas as a graduate earlier this year from Oklahoma, where he played primarily on special teams the past two seasons. In pregame depth charts, Draper has been listed as a backup to Bumper Pool at weakside linebacker. - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/15/20 - DeVion WarrenrSr/2022, Arkansas, 5-11, 182 (DS#99 WR) + More +

University of Arkansas senior wide receiver De'Vion Warren doubled his career touchdown catch total for the second consecutive game. Warren, starting at Auburn on Saturday in place of injured Treylon Burks, had touchdown receptions of 7 and 30 yards from Feleipe Franks in the Razorbacks' 30-28 loss to the Tigers. Those scores improved Warren's career touchdown total from two to four. He finished the game with five catches for 95 yards. "Obviously he got open and held on to the football," Arkansas Coach Sam Pittman said. "He's a good player. Obviously we'd like to get Burks back at some point as soon as we can, but De'Vion sure has done a nice job since he got his opportunity."

The previous week in a 21-14 victory at Mississippi State, Warren had a 19-yard touchdown catch from Franks. His first career touchdown reception was in 2018 against Alabama on a 17-yard pass from Ty Storey. Warren has 10 catches for 223 yards and a team-high 3 touchdowns this season. The previous three seasons he had 8 catches for 38 yards. Warren is the first Razorback to have two touchdown receptions in a game since 2018 when tight end Cheyenne O'Grady had two against Alabama. - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/12/20 - Feleipe FranksrSr/2021, Arkansas, 6-7, 234 (DS#12 QB) + More +

Arkansas running back Trelon Smith never saw panic in quarterback Feleipe Franks' eyes or a change in his demeanor. It would have been easy to press and be overcome with frustration after the Razorbacks' offense went three-and-out on three of its first four possessions against No. 13 Auburn on Saturday. In the first quarter, Arkansas recorded only 46 yards and was 0-for-4 on third down. The Tigers seemingly had an answer for each move the Razorbacks made early. But as the game wore on, Franks looked like the savvy SEC veteran Arkansas was hoping he would be when he transferred from Florida. And he put his team in position to win its second consecutive game in league play. In the controversial 30-28 loss to Auburn, he completed 22 of 30 passes for a season-high 318 yards and four touchdowns.

"Feleipe, man, he's a hell of a quarterback," said Smith, who totaled 159 yards of offense. "He's always the type of guy to come over on the sideline and motivate everybody to keep going, keep pushing, next play. He always tells us to forget about the (last) play and move on to the next play. "He's a true leader on this football team." Franks is providing Arkansas with something it hasn't received in years: quality play at quarterback. On Saturday, he became the first Razorbacks quarterback since Brandon Allen in 2015 to pass for 300-plus yards and four touchdowns in a game. Franks is only the fourth Razorback to reach those marks since 2000. - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/12/20 - Rakeem BoydSr/2021, Arkansas, 5-11, 213 (DS#19 RB) + More +

Arkansas star tailback Rakeem Boyd and cornerback Montaric Brown did not make the travel squad to No. 13 Auburn for the Razorbacks. Boyd wore a walking boot on his right foot on the sidelines during the second half of last week's 21-14 win at Mississippi State. He hurt the foot during a second quarter drive inside the Bulldogs' 5-yard line. Boyd was starting to jog by Thursday, but was not ready for game action. Brown came out after a tackle for loss in the second quarter at Mississippi State. Receiver Treylon Burks, who also came out of last week's game, was dressed out during pre-game warmups and wearing a compression sleeve on his right knee. - Northwest Arkansas Times

  10/12/20 - Feleipe FranksrSr/2021, Arkansas, 6-7, 234 (DS#12 QB) + More +

Arkansas safety Jalen Catalon was impressed with Franks' performance and his leadership as the offense battled back from a 17-0 hole. His play inspired the defense, Catalon said. "Feleipe is a baller. No matter what happens, I never see Feleipe get shook by anything," Catalon said. "He always has his head high and he's always motivating us to keep going no matter what the scenario is. It showed tonight. It's easy to get down with everything, but you saw that look in his eye that he was ready to go no matter what. "You saw him string together some drives, which gave us, the defense, confidence to say, 'We've got a quarterback that's going to do his thing. Let's do our thing.' Before you know it, we're back in the game." Franks finished with a quarterback rating of 206.4, the highest for a Razorback when attempting at least 30 passes since Allen (202.8) against Mississippi State in 2015. "He did his thing, you know," Catalon said. "I wish there was a couple of calls that went our way toward the end to finish off the game, but it is what it is. I'm proud of Feleipe, and I'm glad he's our quarterback. I wouldn't want anyone else on our team." - Northwest Arkansas Times
