The 6-foot-4, 242-pound Bastrop High graduate said he lost significant weight, dropping from 256 pounds to 229. He said he lost his appetite and had difficulty breathing.   Former Florida State punter Logan Tyler is transferring to Arizona State. Tyler announced his transfer via social media Thursday. I will forever be grateful to everyone who has made my time at Florida State University as special as it has been. Thank you Nole Nation for everything. He was suspended from Florida State in September 2019 for what was described as a violation of team rules. In November, he was arrested on charges of DUI following a three-month investigation into his scooter crash Aug. 23. Tyler's blood alcohol was three times the legal limit from blood taken in the emergency room following the crash. ASU coaches cannot comment on Tyler, who will be a grad transfer, because he is not yet admitted. Tyler was a three-year starter at Florida State. He averaged 43.2 yards per punt in 2017 and 2018 and 42.5 overall in his Seminole career. He had 50 punts over 50 yards and 139 touchbacks on kickoffs at Florida State. - Arizona Republic

  04/25/20 - Brandon AiyukSr/2020, Arizona State, 6-0, 205 (DS#7 WR) + More +

It didn't take long for Arizona State's Brandon Aiyuk to jump on social media after hearing his name called late in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday. The first message the 6-foot wide receiver sent out was a photo himself as a smiling 4-year-old dressed in a maroon San Francisco 49ers sweatshirt. Sometimes things just work out. It was indeed the 49ers that selected him with the 25th pick in the first round.Aiyuk watched the virtual draft with his family at their Reno, Nevada home.

"My mom's been a huge 49ers fan her whole life, so that kind of bled on me a little bit when I was younger," Aiyuk said in a press conference call with the media shortly after the selection. "There were a lot of people telling me before today and all week that it was going to happen. So it's crazy that it actually did happen." Aiyuk became the 252nd Sun Devil to be selected in the professional draft. His 25th overall selection was the highest for an ASU player since defensive end Terrell Suggs went 10th overall to the Ravens in 2003. - Arizona Republic

  04/24/20 - Brandon AiyukSr/2020, Arizona State, 6-0, 205 (DS#7 WR) + More +

Brandon Aiyuk had a breakout season for the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2019, emerging as the team's most potent big-play threat. It paid off as the 6-foot, 205-pound wide receiver was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers with the 25th pick of the first round. He is the 26th player selected out of ASU in the NFL's first round. This also makes the second straight season in which a Sun Devil wide receiver has been chosen in the opening round, with N'Keal Harry going to the New England Patriots with the 32nd and final pick of the first round a year ago. Draft festivities had been scheduled for Las Vegas but the coronavirus pandemic resulted in those plans being scrapped. Commissioner Roger Goodell made he announcement of each team's selection from his basement with team officials in separate locations as well.

Aiyuk was the sixth receiver chosen in a draft that is deep at that position. He was the third Pac-12 player chosen, following Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert (Chargers) and USC offensive tackle Austin Jackson (Dolphins) who went sixth and 18th, respectively. Aiyuk, who watched festivities with his family in Reno, Nevada, played only two years for the Sun Devils, arriving in 2018 after playing two years at Sierra Community College. In 25 games at ASU, he recorded 98 catches for 1,666 yards and 11 touchdowns. - Arizona Republic
