Former Arkansas linebacker Andrew Parker recently announced his transfer destination. Parker, who in 2021 completed his redshirt junior season, will continue his football career at Appalachian State, a member of the Sun Belt Conference. He entered the NCAA transfer portal on Jan. 20, less than three weeks after the Razorbacks' season ended. In three seasons on the field, Parker recorded 24 tackles, including a career-best 12 in Arkansas' 2020 season. He finished with four stops in the Razorbacks' season-ending loss to No. 1 Alabama on Dec. 12, 2020. Parker also had four tackles against Rice to begin the 2021 season. - Northwest Arkansas Times

Jarrett Paul left Eastern Michigan earlier this spring hoping to play football in a Power 5 conference once again. On Wednesday, that goal became reality. Paul committed to transfer to Kansas at the end of an official visit, marking the second time he will have changed schools. For him, the visit was more of a formality than it is for most players; he had already told defensive coordinator Brian Borland and general manager Rob Ianello that he intended to commit before making the trip to Lawrence from his home in Brooklyn. "I saw their success at Buffalo and I know that they'll be able to do the same thing at Kansas," said Paul, who chose a scholarship offer from Rutgers over one from Buffalo while he was in high school. "I'm only going to be there for a short time, but I know that slowly but surely, they'll get there." The 6-foot-1, 192-pound defensive back played at Rutgers during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, decided to transfer after the start of the 2020 season and enrolled at Eastern Michigan prior to last season.

He started 12 of 13 games for the Eagles at cornerback and finished with 45 tackles, six passes broken up and one fumble forced. In his two years at Rutgers, he played in 23 games, including eight starts as a sophomore at free safety after playing primarily on special teams as a freshman. Paul will be able to play immediately at Kansas despite a second transfer because he will graduate from Eastern Michigan in the coming weeks. - Lawrence Journal World

Virginia Tech running back Jordan Brunson and tight end Jared Gibble entered their names into the transfer portal on Tuesday, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed. Tech coach Brent Pry said throughout spring camp he expected plenty of attrition coming out of spring camp once the new staff got to completely evaluate the roster. The Hokies also need to get to 85 before the rest of the 2022 signing class enrolls in the coming weeks, a situation Pry alluded to at his final press conference leading up to the spring game. "I've been telling them from Day 1 that they can't be afraid from hard conversations in this program," Pry said. "And if they are, they're probably not at the right place. We owe it to them to be forthright and to be genuine in our evaluation of where they're at." The two transfers leave Tech with 87 projected scholarships for the fall, but that number doesn't include Nebraska transfer defensive lineman Pheldarius Payne, a verbal commitment that hasn't been officially announced by the school. - Richmond Times-Dispatch
