11/29/25 - Jevon Jackson, rSr/2026, Alabama-Birmingham, 5-09, 205 (DS#99 RB) + More +   Jevon Jackson rushed for two touchdowns, including the game-winning score, and Jalen Kitna threw two touchdown passes in UAB's 31-24 win over Tulsa on Saturday, in the season finale for both teams. Jackson put UAB ahead on a 3-yard touchdown run with 3:40 remaining, capping a 10-play, 90-yard drive. It was UAB's first lead since the 7:51 mark of the second quarter. The win is UAB's first road win since 2022 and comes after UAB player Daniel Mincey was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder against two teammates in a stabbing incident prior to last week's game against South Florida. UAB listed 39 players as out on Saturday, with many opting out of playing after the incident. Kitna found Iverson Hooks for an 18-yard touchdown midway through the first quarter to put the Blazers (4-8, 2-6 American Athletic) up 7-0. Hooks caught five passes for 46 yards and a touchdown. He finished the season with 72 receptions, passing Roddy White for the third-most receptions in a single season for UAB. He also finished sixth in program history with 927 receiving yards on the season. Kitna found his second score to Brandon Hawkins Jr., tying the game at 17 in the early third quarter. Kitna was 14-of-17 passing for 166 yards. Baylor Hayes gave the Golden Hurricane a 10-7 lead on a 1-yard pass to Jewlyen Roberts. He was 11 of 22 for 159 yards and an interception. Ajay Allen rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown. 09/14/25 - Jalen Kitna, rSr/2026, Alabama-Birmingham, 6-4, 229 (DS#56 QB) + More +   Jalen Kitna threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns, Solomon Beebe ran for a 96-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff, and UAB beat Akron 31-28 on Saturday night. Ben Finley answered Beebe's score on Akron's first play from scrimmage with a 75-yard touchdown pass to Israel Polk. The duo connected again with a 5-yard touchdown to put the Zips up 14-7 midway through the first quarter. Nate Rogers' 8-yard touchdown run for UAB (2-1) tied it 14-all late in the first. Kitna then tossed a pair of short-yardage touchdown passes to help give the Blazers a 31-20 halftime lead. Sean Patrick's 1-yard TD run for Akron (0-3) with 12:38 remaining capped the scoring. The Zips' final possession ended at its 26 after an incomplete pass on 4th-and-19. Kitna completed 30 of his 45 pass attempts to nine receivers. 08/29/25 - Jevon Jackson, rSr/2026, Alabama-Birmingham, 5-09, 205 (DS#99 RB) + More +   Running backs Jevon Jackson and Solomon Beebe combined for three touchdowns in the third quarter for UAB in the Blazers' 52-42 comeback win against Alabama State on Thursday night. Jackson, who transferred to UAB from UTEP, rushed for 166 yards in his first game for the Blazers. Alabama State was up 21-17 at halftime, led by quarterback Andrew Body, who had a 60-yard touchdown to open the scoring in the first quarter. Another touchdown pass made it 28-17 in the third quarter. Jackson had two touchdowns in the third quarter, including a 3-yard run to put the Blazers in a position to take the lead. Beebe then rushed for a 5-yard score for a 31-28 lead. Jackson added a 46-yard run to make it 38-28. Isaiah Jacobs added a 5-yard rushing touchdown for the Blazers, and Beebe scored his second of the game in the last two minutes to make it 52-42. The running back group combined for five touchdowns and 259 total yards. UAB quarterback Jalen Kitna had 247 yards, going 18 for 23 and two touchdowns in the victory. 08/28/25 - Braylon McReynolds, rSr/2027, Alabama-Birmingham, 5-07, 190 (DS#67 RB) + More +   Braylon McReynolds ran for 113 yards and caught a touchdown, and D'arco Perkins-McAlister recorded two sacks in the University of Louisiana-Monroe's season-opening shutout win over St. Francis University on Thursday night, 29-0. The game was delayed due to weather conditions caused by lightning in the area, pushing the start time back by an hour and 43 minutes. ULM scored first, off a rushing touchdown from quarterback Hunter Herring, who was in for a designed play at the 1-yard line. They kicked a field goal to make it 10-0 going into halftime. The Warhawks' starting quarterback, Aidan Armenta, threw 95 yards and went 12 for 23. He had a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Third-string QB Landon Graves threw a touchdown to Tyler Griffin to make it 29-0. St. Francis had a 19-yard rush in the third quarter that was called back due to holding, making it 2nd and 21 in ULM territory. They ultimately couldn't convert. In the fourth quarter, Malik Gantt blocked an extra-point attempt for the Red Flash. Jeremiah Harris caught an interception in the end zone to keep ULM off the scoreboard and returned it for 22 yards. 01/08/23 - AD Diamond, rJr/2026, Alabama-Birmingham, 6-0, 180 (DS#999 CB) + More +   Former Auburn cornerback A.D. Diamond will continue his college career with an in-state FBS program. Diamond, a reserve cornerback for the last two seasons on the Plains, announced his commitment to UAB on Friday evening. Diamond left Auburn in late October and entered the transfer portal after failing to see the field during his first two seasons with the Tigers. A native of Mobile and Blount graduate, Diamond is a former three-star prospect who signed with Auburn as part of its 2021 class. He was a two-way standout at Blount, where he played defensive back and wide receiver. As a senior he caught 38 passes for 756 yards and added 25 tackles, 21 pass breakups and seven interceptions on the defensive side. UAB junior running back DeWayne McBride will forgo his senior season at UAB, declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft today on his social media accounts. McBride was a first-team All-C-USA selection, earning three player of the week awards this season, and named C-USA Offensive Player of the Year after finishing the regular season with a nation-leading 1,713 rushing yards, breaking UAB's single-season rushing record previously held by Jordan Howard, and scored 19 touchdowns to break Spencer Brown's previous record of 16 touchdowns in 2018. He led the nation in yards per game (155.7) and rushes of more than 20 yards (23) and broke Howard's single-game rushing record with a 272-yard performance in the season finale at LA Tech. The NCAA active career leader in yards per carry (7.3), McBride was the focal point of a unit ranked fifth in the nation in rushing offense (243.8 ypg). 12/16/22 - Trea Shropshire, rSr/2023, Alabama-Birmingham, 6-2, 192 (DS#97 WR) + More +   Reynard Ellis tackled Jalen Walker at the 1-yard line on the final play of the game to give UAB a 24-20 victory over Miami (OH) in the 2022 HomeTown Lenders Bahamas Bowl. Jermaine Brown Jr. scored the go-ahead touchdown for UAB on 4th-and-1 with 1:33 left in fourth quarter. Brown Jr. rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns overall. Trea Shropshire was the game's offensive MVP after tying the Bahamas Bowl record with 183 receiving yards. Michael Fairbanks II was the defensive MVP with seven tackles, 1.5 TFL, 0.5 sack and a blocked extra point. The win was UAB's third bowl victory in school history and the first time UAB has won back-to-back bowl games. It also marked UAB's 50th win since returning to action in 2017, which is the most of any team in Conference USA during that span.
