09/07 WEEK 1 PAC-12 SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jaylon Hawkins, 2nd year, WR/KR, San Diego State (Argyle, Texas),...In just his fifth career game, he brought back a kick return 100 yards for a touchdown, the first of his career, in a 53-20 win over Portland State...It was SDSU's first kick return touchdown by an Aztec since Jordan Byrd vs. San Jose State on Nov. 12, 2022...It was SDSU's first 100-yard kick return touchdown since Byrd had one at Utah on Sept. 18, 2021 and was the ninth in SDSU's Division I history (since 1969)...1 of 3 FBS players so far this season to have a kick return of 100 yards for a touchdown and the first Pac-12 player to return a kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown since Cal's Jaydn Ott against UCLA in 2023...Was a part of an Aztec special teams unit that blocked two punts and returned a kick for a touchdown. SDSU became the first FBS team since at least the 2012 season to block two punts and return a kick for a touchdown in the same game...He returned three kickoffs for 141 yards overall...The 141 kick return yards were the most in Snapdragon Stadium history, while the 100-yard return was the first in stadium history. - Pac-12 Football

It's Hejny's most rushing yards in a game since 2024 when he racked up 48 yards for TCU against Cincinnati...The 5 passing touchdowns matched a program record for most in a season-opening game for a Rams signal caller (last done by K.J. 09/07 WEEK 1 CUSA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Triston Morgan, Kennesaw State - Sr. - RB - Atlanta, Ga.,...Morgan was a Swiss Army Knife for the Owls (1-0) in their season-opening win over West Georgia, tallying a league-high 131 all-purpose yards while also blocking a punt. He returned the opening kickoff 47 yards to set up a Kennesaw State scoring drive on the first possession. Then, at the end of the ensuing Wovles' series, Morgan got a hand on a punt that only traveled 27 yards to set the Owls up at their own 46-yard line. Later in the opening frame, Morgan took off for a 60-yard touchdown scamper to give the Owls a 12-0 lead. He led the Aggies in tackles (7) and was one of two players in CUSA with a pick-six during Week 1. It was tied for the second-most touchdown receptions in Conference USA history and the most since North Texas' Jaelon Darden on Dec. 11, 2020. He became the first Gamecock to have four receiving TDs in a game since Alan Bonner did so in 2012 against UT Martin when he had five for a school record.
