09/07 WEEK 1 SEC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Eric Winters, Auburn, Position: Safety, Class: Sophomore, Hometown: Enterprise, Ala.,...Auburn's Eric Winters, a sophomore safety from Enterprise, Ala., made a game-saving tackle on a two-point conversion attempt in the final 10 seconds, stopping Baylor tight end Matthew Klopfenstein inside the 1-yard line. Winters was also credited with a forced fumble early in the first quarter to halt a Baylor drive, the first forced fumble of his career, and he set career highs with 11 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss while making just his second career start at safety. 09/07 WEEK 1 SEC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Deuce Alexander, Ole Miss, Position: Wide Receiver, Class: Senior, Hometown: Douglasville, Ga.,...Ole Miss' Deuce Alexander, a senior wide receiver from Douglasville, Ga., totaled 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his first start as a Rebel. His 62-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter was the second-longest of his Ole Miss career, trailing only the school-record 88-yarder he had last season against Mississippi State, and he followed it with another 62-yard scoring catch late in the same quarter. 09/07 WEEK 1 SEC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sam Leavitt, LSU, Position: Quarterback, Class: Redshirt Junior, Hometown: West Linn, Ore.,...LSU's Sam Leavitt, a redshirt junior quarterback from West Linn, Ore., accounted for three touchdowns - two rushing, one passing - in his first start as a Tiger to lead LSU past No. 23 Clemson, 51-10, in Tiger Stadium. Leavitt rushed for a career-high 113 yards and scored on runs of 8 and 13 yards in the second quarter as LSU built a 31-3 halftime lead. He connected on 16-of-28 passes for 230 yards as the Tigers piled up a school-record 38 first downs and 644 total yards (309 rushing, 335 passing), marking just the sixth time in program history LSU has had 300-plus rushing and passing yards in the same game. - SEC Football

09/07 WEEK 1 SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Faizon Brandon, Tennessee, Position: Quarterback, Class: Freshman, Hometown: Greensboro, N.C.,...Tennessee's Faizon Brandon, a freshman quarterback from Greensboro, N.C., tied a Tennessee freshman record with five total touchdowns in his first collegiate game, leading the Vols past Furman, 56-9. He was 13-of-17 through the air for 226 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions and also rushed for 68 yards and two scores on 10 carries, matching the UT freshman mark of five touchdowns set by Casey Clausen (2000, Arkansas) and Tyler Bray (2010, Memphis). Brandon became the first SEC player with at least three passing touchdowns and at least two rushing touchdowns in his first FBS start since Auburn's Cam Newton did so against Arkansas State on Sept. 4, 2010. He was also the second FBS true freshman quarterback since 1995 with 225 passing yards, 65 rushing yards, three passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in a single contest, joining Arkansas State's Jaylen Raynor, who did so on Sept. 23, 2023, versus Southern Miss. Since 1995, Brandon is one of just three Tennessee quarterbacks with 225 passing yards and 65 rushing yards in a game, along with Hendon Hooker (four times) and Joshua Dobbs (four times), and he was the only FBS freshman in Week 1 to account for five total touchdowns. - SEC Football

09/07 WEEK 1 SEC DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Jordan Ross, LSU, Position: Defensive End, Class: Junior, Hometown: Birmingham, Ala.,...LSU's Jordan Ross, a junior defensive end from Birmingham, Ala., returned a first-quarter interception 30 yards for a touchdown in his first LSU appearance, stretching the Tiger lead to 17-3. On Clemson's next offensive play, Ross made a tackle for a 4-yard loss, and he finished with four total tackles, a sack for an 11-yard loss and a quarterback hurry in the 51-10 victory. LSU limited Clemson to eight first downs, 145 total yards and just 48 offensive snaps, holding the Tigers to 1-of-13 on third down and forcing 10 punts. 09/07 WEEK 1 SEC OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Jordan Seaton, LSU, Position: Offensive Tackle, Class: Junior, Hometown: Washington, D.C.,...LSU's Jordan Seaton, a junior offensive tackle from Washington, D.C., anchored an offense that accounted for 644 total yards and a school-record 38 first downs in a 51-10 win over Clemson in his first LSU start. Seaton did not commit a penalty or allow a sack as the Tigers averaged 5.3 yards on 58 rushing attempts, produced a pair of 100-yard rushers and had only two negative offensive plays. After an interception on the opening possession, LSU scored on seven of its final 10 possessions and punted only twice, marking just the sixth time in program history the Tigers have had 300 rushing yards and 300 passing yards in the same game. - SEC Football

Carneiro accounted for 11 points, making 2-of-3 field goals from 40 yards or longer and all five of his PATs. The game-winner gave him three career game-winning field goals of 45 yards or longer in the final 15 seconds of regulation, the most by any FBS kicker in the last 30 years. 09/07 WEEK 1 SEC CO-SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Isaiah Sategna III, Oklahoma, Position: Wide Receiver/Punt Returner, Class: Fifth Year, Hometown: Austin, Texas,...Oklahoma's Isaiah Sategna III, a fifth-year wide receiver and returner from Austin, Texas, totaled a career-high 215 all-purpose yards - 115 on two punt returns, 24 on one kickoff return and 76 on four receptions - and scored two touchdowns in the Sooners' 51-0 season-opening win over UTEP on Friday night. His first punt return went 88 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, the seventh-longest punt return in OU history and the first returned for a touchdown in three years. It was also OU's longest punt return since 2013 and its second-longest ever in a season opener. Sategna's 115 punt return yards came on just two returns - he also had a 27-yarder in the third quarter - and were OU's most in 15 years. He returned the game's opening kickoff 24 yards, setting up a 76-yard touchdown drive. On offense, Sategna scored on a 34-yard reception on OU's first possession of the second half to give the Sooners a 34-0 lead, and his four pass receptions and 76 receiving yards were game highs, with his other catches going for 6, 25 and 11 yards. - SEC Football

09/07 WEEK 1 MAC FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: William "Pop" Watson III, Massachusetts, QB, Senior, Springfield, Massachusetts (Springfield Central),...Leading UMass to a 37-21 win at Big Ten foe Rutgers on September 3, Watson totaled 197 passing yards on an efficient 19-for-22 night (86.36%) while throwing for three touchdowns, including a 31-yard strike to Joseph Griffin Jr. Watson III also rushed six times for 40 yards (6.7 yards per rush) and did not take a sack as the Minutemen snapped a 16-game losing streak and beat a current P4 opponent for the first time since joining FBS. Watson III became the first UMass quarterback with three passing touchdowns and an 80% completion rate in a game in the FBS era, and the first since current Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen in 2008. The win was the first for UMass since beating Wagner on October 26, 2024, and marked the program's first FBS win since winning at Army on Oct. 28, 2023. - MAC Football
