  Texas-Rio Grande Valley Football   WEEK 12 SOUTHLAND OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tony Diaz, UTRGV - WR - R-Fr. - San Marcos, Texas (San Marcos HS),...Diaz hauled in his first-career multi-TD game with a career-high three touchdown catches against McNeese. For Diaz, it is his fourth 100+ yard receiving game with 134 yards on seven receptions, an average of over 19 yards per reception. His first score gave UTRGV the lead for good at 14-10 and he added a 75-yard TD pass on second play of 4th quarter to extend the lead.   Lamar Football   WEEK 11 SOUTHLAND DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Andrew Huff, Lamar - DL - Jr. - Stafford, Texas (Stafford HS),...Huff led an impressive defensive effort for Lamar against one of the top offenses in the country. He recorded a team-high seven tackles, with three solo stops and two sacks as the Cardinals held Southeastern off the scoreboard until the third quarter and their lowest offensive output against an FCS squad this season.   McNeese Football   WEEK 11 SOUTHLAND OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jake Strong, McNeese - QB - So. - Justin, Texas (Northwest HS),...Strong totaled 307 total offensive yards and two touchdowns in McNeese's 35-20 win at East Texas A&M on Saturday. He ran for a career-high 136 yards and a touchdown, that coming on a 48-yards sprint up the middle and completed 10 of 18 passes for 171 yards, a TD, that being a 39-yard lob into the endzone for the score. The running total marked the second time to hit the century mark on the season for Strong. It is Strong's third time earning Southland Offensive Player of the Week.   Southeastern Louisiana Football   WEEK 10 SOUTHLAND SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dkhai Joseph, Southeastern - WR - So. - Reserve, La. (East St. John HS),...Joseph averaged 29.2 yards per punt return, finishing with 117 yards and a touchdown on four returns in Saturday's 59-14 win over East Texas A&M. His 63-yard punt return for a touchdown gave SLU a 14-0 lead midway through the first quarter. His four catches for 55 yards and touchdown gave him a team-high 172 all-purpose yards in No. 16/21 Southeastern's victory - the team's fifth straight. (Ouachita Parish HS),...Posted the best game of his career against Northwestern State, recording 4.5 tackles for a loss, 2.0 sacks, four QB hurries, and a fumble recovery. He made his first start of the season in place of the injured player in front of him on the depth chart. Bradford finished with a team-high six tackles, five of those solos and anchored a defense that held NSU to 178 total yards, a season low allowed by the Cowboys. (Oak Grove HS),...For the second straight week, Hayes returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown. Hayes' 85-yard kickoff return touchdown in No. 19 Southeastern's 38-14 victory at HCU was his second of the season and third of his Lion career. Later in the third quarter, he broke free for a 55-yard kickoff return to set up an SLU field goal. On the day, he averaged 51.6 yards per kickoff return. One of two FCS players to return two kickoffs for touchdowns this fall, Hayes is third in FCS with 32.7 yards per kickoff return. - Southland Football

  Nicholls Football   WEEK 9 SOUTHLAND DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ty Marsh, Nicholls - DB - Sr. - Dallas, Texas (Denton Ryan HS),...Marsh sparked the Colonels' defensive effort in the 31-7 win over McNeese, totaling four tackles, an interception for a touchdown, and one sack. With Nicholls leading 10-7 in the third, Marsh tallied his second pick-6 of the season with a 45-yard return. It was his third interception for a TD in 20 career games with the Colonels. The Colonel defense allowed 264 yards with 90 coming on a highlight diving catch for 45 yards, and a 45-yard catch on a flea flicker.   Lamar Football   WEEK 8 SOUTHLAND SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ben Woodard, Lamar - PK - Sr. - Plano, Texas (Plano East HS) - FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week, Woodard capped a banner performance by drilling a school-record 57-yard field goal with 1:03 left, lifting Lamar past UTRGV 23-21 in the Southland Conference. He kicked a 53-yard field goal to end the first half, also connected from 30 yards out and added two PATs for 11 points. Woodard, who is 17 of 19 on field goals over the last two seasons, averaged 63.8 yards on five kickoffs with three touchbacks. - Southland Football

Strong scored on runs of seven, seven, and 34 yards and ran the ball 16 times for 108 yards for a 6.8 ypc average. He became the first McNeese QB with three rushing TDs since the 2008 season.   Western Carolina Football   WEEK 13 SOCON OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Taron Dickens, R-So., QB, Western Carolina, Miami, Fla.,...Dickens accounted for four touchdowns in Western Carolina's 48-6 win over VMI. The native of Miami, Florida, logged 362 yards of total offense, throwing for 330 yards and rushing for 32 yards. The redshirt sophomore had touchdown passes of 12, 1 and 22 yards, along with a 3-yard score on the ground, marking his first touchdown run of the season. Dickens broke the SoCon's single-season record for touchdown passes in the contest, bringing his season total to 38 to top the mark of 36 set by Samford's Micheal Hiers in 2022 and Devlin Hodges in 2016.
