Iowa Football   L.J. Phillips Jr. rushed for 106 yards and added a touchdown, and Dejuan Lewis returned a fumble for a touchdown to lead South Dakota to a 26-21 victory over North Dakota on Saturday. South Dakota (6-4, 4-2 Missouri Valley Football Conference) forced a safety to open the scoring and Phillips added a rushing touchdown early in the second quarter. The Coyotes then turned two Fighting Hawks turnovers into touchdowns.

Jerry Kaminski threw two interceptions in the first half. His second set up a 43-yard touchdown pass from Aidan Bouman to Larenzo Fenner with 45 seconds left for a 16-7 halftime lead. The Coyotes added a field goal, then turned a Sawyer Seidl fumble into a touchdown. Chris Dixon forced the fumble at South Dakota's 21-yard line, then Lewis scooped it and returned it 80 yards to make it 17 unanswered points. Kaminski was 16-of-30 passing for 177 yards with a rushing score. Seidl rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns, making it his fourth consecutive game with more than 100 yards rushing. It's the first MVFC loss of the season for the FCS coaches poll No. 10 Fighting Hawks (6-3, 4-1), after early season losses to Kansas State and Montana. - AP College Football

Texas Football   Texas quarterback Arch Manning started for the No. 20 Longhorns against No. 9 Vanderbilt after clearing concussion protocol and threw two touchdowns in the first half. Texas led 24-10 at halftime. Manning had been listed as questionable on Wednesday's injury report to the Southeastern Conference, but coach Steve Sarkisian also said his quarterback was practicing and making "good progress" during the week. He was removed from Friday night's updated list.

Manning was injured in Texas' 45-38 overtime win over Mississippi State when he led a 17-point fourth-quarter rally. Matthew Caldwell entered the game in overtime and threw the winning touchdown pass. Manning has passed for 1,980 yards and 17 touchdowns. A preseason favorite for the Heisman Trophy, Manning struggled for much of the early season but played his best game against Mississippi State with 346 yards passing and three touchdowns. He passed for 169 yards in the final quarter. - Texas/AP College Football

Ohio State Football   Julian Sayin passed for 316 yards and four touchdowns, Jeremiah Smith scored twice and top-ranked Ohio State pulled away in the second half to defeat Penn State 38-14 Saturday. The Buckeyes (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) had a 17-14 lead at halftime, but took control in the second half, scoring on three of their first four possessions. Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton both had rushing scores for Penn State (3-5, 0-5), which has dropped five straight and lost both games with interim coach Terry Smith at the helm. Smith took over after James Franklin was fired on Oct. 12.

Sayin completed 20 of 23 passes and joined Geno Smith as the only Football Bowl Subdivision players since 1985 to have three games in a season with at least 300 yards passing, three touchdowns, no interceptions and a completion rate of at least 85%. Smith accomplished the feat in 2012 at West Virginia. Sayin had three completions of at least 40 yards, including a pair to Carnell Tate, who finished with five catches for 124 yards. Sayin connected with Tate on a go route for a 45-yard TD midway through the second quarter to extend the Buckeyes' lead to 17-7. Jeremiah Smith finished with six receptions for 123 yards. He put Ohio State on the board midway through the first quarter with a 14-yard catch on a slant pattern. The sophomore then extended the Buckeyes' lead to 38-14 with a highlight-reel grab on an 11-yard touchdown with 9:43 remaining in the game. Sayin's pass appeared to be tipped, but Smith leapt and made a one-handed grab with his left hand while being surrounded by three Penn State defenders. The Buckeyes got some breathing room on the opening drive of the second half. Tate had a 57-yard catch to the Penn State 4 on the second play of the possession and CJ Donaldson plowed in from the 1 three plays later to put Ohio State up by two scores. Ohio State essentially put it out of reach when tight end Christian Bennett's 1-yard reception made it 31-14. - Ohio State/AP College Football

Massachusetts Football   Logan Inagawa threw for 244 yards and a touchdown and Drake remained unbeaten in the Pioneer Football League by beating Butler 24-19 on Saturday. Drake's Isaiah Bragg returned the opening kickoff 32 yards to the Drake 34. On the first play from scrimmage, Nick Herman took the handoff and ran 66 yards to the end zone for a 7-0 Drake (6-2, 5-0) lead. Butler (5-4, 3-2) tied it on its second drive when Reagan Andrew connected with Archie Cox deep for a 54-yard touchdown pass midway through the first quarter.

With 2:35 before halftime, Inagawa led an 11-play, 85-yard drive that took 6:11 to put Drake back out front 14-7. Butler took the opening kickoff to the second half and traveled 75 yards in nine plays and scored when Andrew threw a 3-yard touchdown to Chet Yardley. Drake blocked the extra-point attempt to maintain a 14-13 lead. Drake extended its lead to 17-13 on a 51-yard field goal by Harry Balke on the following drive and sealed it early in the fourth when Luke Woodson crashed in from the 1. Andrew scored the final points of the contest when he ran it in from the 3 with 3:38 left. He threw for 191 yards, two touchdowns and was intercepted once. - AP College Football

Illinois Football   Luke Altmyer threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 88 yards to lead Illinois to a 35-13 victory Saturday over Rutgers. Altmyer completed 19 of 31 passes as the Illini (6-3, 3-3 Big Ten) ended a two-game losing streak and became bowl-eligible in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2010-11. Hudson Clement caught five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown in the West Virginia transfer's best game as an Illini. Rutgers (4-5, 1-5) lost for the fifth time in six games.

Athan Kaliakmanis was 25 of 45 for 253 yards and a TD for the Scarlet Knights. K.J. Duff caught nine passes for 93 yards and a TD and Ian Strong had six receptions for 85 yards. Altmyer's 3-yard TD run late in the second quarter came on a trick play on fourth down. Illinois' first TD, a 7-yard pass from Altmyer to Feagin, was at the end of a 12-play, 99-yard drive that took more than six minutes. - Illinois/AP College Football

Army Football   Cale Hellums threw a 42-yard pass to Brady Anderson with 24 seconds left and Dawson Jones made a game-winning 27-yard field goal on the final play to give Army a 20-17 victory over Air Force on Saturday. Army (4-4) has won seven of the last nine meetings with Air Force (2-6), including three in a row - its first three-game streak in the series since 1976-78. It was a wild final two minutes. Hellums was stopped on a fourth-and-1 sneak deep in Army territory with 2:10 left. The Falcons took advantage of the great field position, and a pass interference call in the end zone, to tie it at 17-all on Liam Szarka's 2-yard sneak with 1:26 left.

Hellums started the game-winning drive with a 10-yard pass and then Army ran it four straight plays. Hellums' ninth pass attempt, and fifth completion, went to Anderson, who had run past the defense over the middle. Hellums threw for 102 yards with a touchdown, and he carried it 26 times for 98 yards and another score. Briggs Bartosh added 74 yards rushing. Szarka was 13 of 17 for 161 yards but he was intercepted twice for Air Force, which also lost a fumble for a three-turnover game. Szarka had two touchdowns on the ground and 91 yards. Air Force had not scored a touchdown against Army in 32 straight possessions until Szarka's 3-yard run midway through the third quarter to tie it at 10-all. - Army/AP College Football

Oklahoma State Football   Caleb Hawkins ran for four touchdowns and North Texas beat Navy 31-17 on Saturday, handing the Midshipmen their first loss this season and ending their 10-game winning streak. Hawkins, a true freshman, rushed for a season-high 197 yards on 33 carries - the rest of the team netted minus-21. Freshman Drew Mestemaker, who threw for a program-record 608 yards and four touchdowns in a 54-20 win over Charlotte last week, was 19-of-24 passing for 234 yards.

Hawkins' 7-and 3-yard scores finished a pair of long North Texas (8-1, 4-1 American Conference) drives. After a failed Navy (7-1, 5-1) onside kick, Hawkins added a 14-yard score for a 21-3 lead. Hawkins' 6-yard score at the end of the third quarter came after a Quinton Hammonds interception and made it 31-17. Navy's next drive went over five minutes but ended on downs at the North Texas 9 and its final possession ended on another Hammonds interception. Blake Horvath was 8 of 14 for 80 yards with two interceptions. He rushed for 112 on 19 carries with a TD. Brandon Chatman rushed for the other Navy TD. Navy is at Notre Dame next Saturday.   Yale Football   Dante Reno threw two touchdown passes, Billy Daal broke loose for an 81-yard score, and Yale defeated Columbia 24-10 on Saturday. A 7-yard TD throw to Jaxton Santiago gave Yale (5-2, 3-1 Ivy League) a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter. Columbia (1-6, 0-4) cut the lead to 14-7 at halftime with Chase Goodwin's 7-yard TD pass to Titus Evans but Noah Piper's 40-yard field goal and Daal's TD run extended the Bulldogs' lead to 24-7 after three quarters. Daal's TD run was the longest for Yale since Deshawn Salter's 82-yard score against Cornell in 2017. Reno was 16 of 25 for 179 yards. Josh Pitsenberger rushed for 132 yards on 25 carries. Baylor (5-4, 3-3 Big 12) scored points on four of its first five drives, including a pair of TD tosses from Robertson to former USC and Ole Miss tight end Michael Trigg and wide receiver Josh Cameron. The Bears built a 20-3 lead by halftime, and Connor Hawkins drilled his third field goal late in the third quarter to put them up 20. Hawkins made kicks from 41-, 40- and 28-yards out.   Central Connecticut Football   Central Connecticut blocked two field goals in the fourth quarter, the second when Jack Stoll stopped a last-minute 18-yard attempt, and Central Connecticut remained atop the NEC with a 10-7 victory over Long Island on Saturday. The Sharks ran 31 plays on their last two possessions but were unable to tie or go ahead. With 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter, LIU took possession at its own 1-yard line and drove to the Central Connecticut 23 before being stopped on third down. Stylz Mitchell then blocked a 40-yard attempt by Will Johnson.

The LIU defense forced a three-and-out and the Sharks took possession with about 3 1/2 minutes remaining. They reached the 1-yard line before the Blue Devils broke up a couple of passes. On fourth down with 7 seconds remaining, the Sharks opted for a game-tying 3-point try that was blocked by Stoll when he broke through the right side and dove to block the kick. Brady Olson completed 16 of 29 passes for 200 yards for the Blue Devils (6-3, 4-0). He threw one touchdown pass and was intercepted once. Luca Stanzani was 21-of-33 passing for 127 yards for the Sharks (3-6, 1-3).   Wake Forest Football   Demon June accounted for two touchdowns and nearly 200 yards on offense, Gio Lopez threw for two scores, and Bill Belichick won his first Atlantic Coast Conference game when North Carolina came from behind to defeat Syracuse 27-10 Friday night. "Feels good. Feels great," Belichick said. "We had a couple of opportunities the last couple of weeks that we couldn't capitalize on. It was good to get this one. So we look forward to all the rest of the games in the ACC. "Things didn't go great great at the beginning of the game but then they just kept on battling and we had a really good second half defensively," he added of a defense that shut out the Orange after intermission. "We all know in football it's not who you play it's when you play them. We were probably fortunate to get them (now) as opposed to the week they played Clemson." The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Tar Heels (3-5, 1-3 ACC), while the Orange (3-6, 1-5) lost for the fifth consecutive time. North Carolina lost its previous two games by a combined four points.

The Tar Heels had not scored more than 20 points against an FBS team and trailed 10-6 when Lopez hit June for a short gain of 9 yards on the team's first play of the second half. June then broke a tackle and scampered 63 yards down the right sideline for a 72-yard scoring play to give the Tar Heels a 13-10 lead they would never surrender. On the team's next series, June ran it in from 5 yards out for a 20-10 margin. A 21-yard scoring strike from Lopez to Jordan Shipp gave the Tar Heels a 17-point lead and 21 unanswered points. Lopez was 15-of-19 passing for 216 yards and two touchdowns. June had 101 yards on the ground and 81 yards on two receptions.   Memphis Football   Frank Peasant rushed for three touchdowns, Brendon Lewis threw for 225 yards and rushed for a touchdown, and No. 25 Memphis beat Rice 38-14 on Friday night. Lewis, who also rushed for 87 yards, finished 18-of-22 passing and connected with 11 different receivers. Memphis (8-1, 4-1 American) outgained Rice 355-212. Lewis exited midway through the fourth quarter and appeared to limp off. "He had been dealing with a lower leg issue previously," Memphis coach Ryan Silverfield said.

"We'll monitor him day-to-day like any of the guys that were banged up tonight." Lewis had an 18-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and Peasant had touchdown runs of 2, 1 and 1 yards in the first half as the Tigers built a 28-0 lead midway through the second quarter. "Frank's a guy that's had a lot of success throughout his college career, and then came to us and bought into his role," Silverfield said. "I'm just so proud of him for being bought in whether it's being short yardage, goal-line running back, special teams." Peasant gave credit to his offensive line. "Red zone, our big package," Peasant said. "My O-line was moving them out of the way for me, so it was kind of easy for me."   Idaho Football   Hayden Kincheloe ran it in from a yard out in overtime after Joshua Wood passed to Elisha Cummings for a 24-yard gain on first down and Idaho rallied last in a 35-32 victory over Northern Arizona on Friday night. After Northern Arizona (5-4, 2-3 Big Sky Conference), ranked No. 21 in the FCS coaches poll, was forced to settle for Samuel Hunsaker's 38-yard field goal to begin OT, Wood hit Cummings in the right flat and Cummings did the rest to set up Kincheloe's plunge for Idaho (4-5, 2-3). Ty Pennington fumbled on a sack by Frederick Lujan III and Cruz Hepburn scooped it up and ran 63 yards for a touchdown to give the Vandals a 26-7 lead with 9:04 left in the third quarter.

Quran Gossett scored on a 1-yard run and Pennington fired a 57-yard scoring strike to Kolbe Katsis to cut it to 26-21 just 64 seconds into the fourth. Katsis raced 28 yards on an end-around, and a second two-point pass was successful for a 29-26 advantage after the first one was waived off when the lights went out in the middle of the play. Owen Adams' 42-yard field goal on the final play sent it to OT. Ryan Fontaine returned a punt he blocked 20 yards for a touchdown late in the first quarter to put NAU up 7-0. Wood answered with a 3-yard touchdown toss to Ryan Jezioro and a 25-yarder to Cummings. Cummings' 22-yard touchdown run with 28 seconds left gave Idaho a 19-7 lead at halftime. Wood finished with 180 yards on 15-for-31 passing. Cummings carried 12 times for 106 yards. Pennington totaled 267 yards on 23-for-34 passing.
