Kentucky Football   Kentucky used a seven-sack gem to end a four-game skid. The Wildcats harassed quarterbacks Ashton Daniels and Jackson Arnold all night, allowing Auburn just one trip to the red zone in a 10-3 victory over the Tigers on Saturday night that raised more questions about coach Hugh Freeze's future on the Plains. Auburn (3-5, 1-5 SEC) has lost five of six. It was Kentucky's first win against Auburn (4-5, 1-5 since 2009. The Wildcats had lost 19 of their previous 20 in the series. "I was emotional walking off that field because of the pride that I feel for this team," Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said. "It's been hard. I acknowledge that, but these guys have not flinched. I know the results aren't always there, but I know in my heart that these guys are getting better." Both offenses struggled, with the score tied 3-3 at halftime. But the Wildcats opened the second half with a 75-yard drive that ended with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Cutter Boley to Kendrick Law, giving them a cushion they were able to sustain - thanks to a relentless defense.

Boley finished with 161 yards passing, a touchdown and two interceptions. Seth McGowan ran for 53 yards. Daniels threw for 59 yards and ran for 57 more in his first start for the Tigers and was replaced briefly in the fourth quarter by Arnold, who was 2-of-3 passing for 15 yards. Both of them were under duress all night. "At the end of the day, I'm frustrated, too," Freeze said. "We all know that when we sign up for this. We accept it. I love what we're doing here, but we haven't gotten the results." Freeze now occupies one of the hottest seats in college football following his third consecutive loss at Jordan-Hare Stadium. He hasn't recorded a winning season at Auburn in three seasons, and the noise surrounding his potential firing keeps getting louder. - Kentucky/AP College Football

Minnesota Football   Drake Lindsey scored on a 3-yard run on third down in overtime after he had the tying rushing touchdown with 29 seconds left in regulation, and Minnesota kept Michigan State winless in Big Ten play with a 23-20 victory on Saturday. The Spartans (3-6, 0-6) took possession first in OT but had to settle for a 36-yard field goal by Martin Connington, who missed kicks from 46 and 23 yards in regulation, for a 20-17 lead. A pass interference penalty on Michigan State's Malcolm Bell on third-and-4 kept the drive alive for the Gophers (6-3, 4-2), and Lindsey capped the comeback when he faked a handoff and rolled left on a bootleg that put him one-on-one with Spartans linebacker Darius Snow. Lindsey stiff-armed Snow to get the corner and beelined for the front corner of the end zone. "It was really cool to see Drake kind of just put the ball in his hands and put the game on his shoulders," tight end Jameson Geers said. "He's a playmaker, and he went out and won the game for us." The Spartans, who had a season-high 467 total yards on offense, trailed 10-0 at halftime and took their first lead at 17-10 with 1:52 remaining.

Elijah Tau-Tolliver gained 85 yards on a first-down run, and Brandon Tullis ran it in from a yard out two plays later. But after Connington's kickoff went out of bounds, the Gophers got to start at the 35 with two timeouts. A facemask penalty on Michigan State's Jordan Hall got them going with a 15-yard boost, and a pass interference call on Malik Spencer on a second-and-1 incompletion from the 8 gave Minnesota first-and-goal from the 2 with 30 seconds left. Lindsey completed 26 of 39 passes for 197 yards. - Minnesota/AP College Football

Youngstown State posted early leads of 3-0 and 10-7, with the Penguins' first touchdown coming on 10-yard run by quarterback Beau Brungard. Western Michigan (5-4, 4-1 Mid-American Conference) trailed 21-14 after Marcus Beamon capped a 16-play 75-yard drive for Central Michigan (5-4, 3-2) with a 33-yard scoring strike to Tyson Davis seven seconds into the fourth. It was his only pass in relief of starter Joe Labas. Palmer Domschke kicked a 46-yard field goal to cut it to 21-17 with 9:01 remaining. The Broncos forced a three-and-out and Lowry directed an 11-play drive - hitting Williams for a three-point lead with 2:08 left to play. Marcel Tyler intercepted Labas on first down and Lowry used five plays to run out the clock.

Nahree Biggins' 1-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter gave the Chippewas a 7-0 lead. Lowry ran it in from a yard out to tie it midway through the second quarter, but Langston Lewis and Labas teamed up for a 77-yard touchdown on the next play from scrimmage and Central Michigan led 14-7 at halftime. Western Michigan had the only score in the third quarter, a 9-yard touchdown run by Jalen Buckley to knot the score at 14-14. North Alabama scored first in overtime - on a 1-yard run by quarterback Destin Wade - but Chandler Dixon missed the extra point. It took seven plays for the Trailblazers (2-7, 1-4 UAC) to score in overtime on Chatman's 4-yard run then Ilya Uvaydov won it with the PAT. A 2-yard run by Wade gave the Lions a 27-20 lead with 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter before the Trailblazers tied it, driving 65 yards in four plays capped by Chatman's 29-yard touchdown run. Chatman rushed for 101 yards and scored the two late touchdowns. Bronson Barben passed for 272 yards, with Daniel Thomason catching three for 104 yards.   Pittsburgh Football   Mason Heintschel threw for 304 yards and tied his season-high with three touchdown passes, leading Pittsburgh to a 35-20 win over Stanford on Saturday. Pitt's first true freshman starting quarterback since Kenny Pickett in 2017, Heintschel completed 23 of 38 passes and had a rating of 143.3 while guiding the Panthers (7-2, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) to their fifth consecutive victory. Ja'Kyrian Turner ran for a season-high 127 yards while Kenny Johnson, Raphael Williams Jr. and Jake Overman each caught touchdown passes for Pitt in its first game at Stanford since 1922.

Panthers coach Pat Narduzzi was appreciative of the win but was more concerned with Pitt's jittery finish in the fourth quarter when Heintschel committed two turnovers in the red zone. "That's probably the most disappointing thing but you live and learn," Narduzzi said. "Young quarterback, he's gotta learn how to just take what they're giving you and not try to force things." Shawn Lee Jr. scored on a 30-yard interception, one of four turnovers forced by the Panthers. That was part of a dominant day by Pitt's defense, which had five sacks and limited Stanford to minus-4 yards rushing and twice forced turnovers on downs. "That was big, especially because we knew how they wanted to start the game," Panthers defensive end Jimmy Scott said. "We were scheming that play up all week." Ben Gulbranson completed 17 of 30 throws for 228 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions for Stanford (3-6, 2-4) before getting benched in the second half. "Obviously today was not our best offensive outing," Stanford coach Frank Reich said. "There were eight possessions where it was still a two-score game, and we just couldn't do anything on offense." The Panthers never trailed, scoring their first touchdown four plays after dropping Stanford for a two-yard loss on 4th-and-1 from the Cardinal 37 on the game's opening drive. - Pittsburgh/AP College Football

The Salukis (6-3, 3-2 Missouri Valley Football Conference), ranked No. 17 in the FCS coaches' poll, took a 17-0 lead in the second quarter on two short Williams' touchdown runs and the first of two Paul Geelen field goals The Racers got their only touchdown on Jim Ogle's 5-yard pass to J'Kalon Carter in the final minute of the first half.

Kansas Football   Jalon Daniels led four second-half touchdown drives as Kansas overcame a sluggish first half to trounce Oklahoma State 38-21 on Saturday. Kansas (5-4, 3-3 Big 12) snapped a two-game losing streak. "We (only) had 10 points (in the first half), but we scored on both possessions," Kansas coach Lance Leipold said. "We just didn't get off the field. It was a very fast first half. "I think we established a little better running game in the second half, that gave us the balance that we needed." Daniels said it was just a matter of sticking with the game plan, and a fierce effort by the offensive line. "Hats off to big old offensive linemen," Daniels said. "They played a pivotal role in today's game. Then the running backs doing everything that they can to gain every single inch, every single yard. And I think that just goes to show the resilience of our team." Zane Flores was 22-of-28 passing for 235 yards and two touchdowns for Oklahoma State (1-8, 0-6 Big 12), which lost its eighth straight game and 15th straight Big 12 game.

"It's hard to pinpoint a moment when it went bad," Oklahoma State interim coach Doug Meacham said. "It could be the field goal block (at the end of the first half). We could have gone in with some momentum. It's just that fine of a line. "What we have to do a better job of is when things don't go the way we want them to, we have to put them to bed." Kansas took the second-half kickoff and went 75 yards in 10 plays to open up a two-score lead. Daniels hit Boden Groen in the back of the end zone for a 3-yard touchdown. After an OSU three-and-out, Daniels found Bryson Canty for a 5-yard touchdown pass and a 24-7 lead. A Flores-to-Gavin Freeman's 10-yard touchdown pass drew the Cowboys within 24-14, but Kansas answered with 3-yard and 5-yard touchdown runs by Daniel Hishaw Jr. and Leshon Williams, respectively. - Kansas/AP College Football

Virginia Football   J'Mari Taylor ran for two touchdowns and No. 15 Virginia extended its winning streak to seven straight games for the first time since 2007 by beating California 31-21 on Saturday. Taylor scored on two of the first three drives of the game to get the Cavaliers (8-1, 5-0 ACC) off to a fast start in their first meeting with the Golden Bears (5-4, 2-3). "It's the month of November, right," coach Tony Elliott said. "The way we kind of outline our season, this is go time. This is where we got to be trying to to prime up and get rolling on all cylinders. It was important for them to get off to a fast start and put together some drives and score some points." Virginia held on from there, getting a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown by Kam Robinson with 34 seconds left in a win that lifted the Cavaliers to their first 8-1 start to a season since 1990. "Everyone calls them the Cardiac Cavs," Elliott said. "But really it's a mindset. These guys believe. They're going to find a way to win. It's a mindset. Then because of that mindset, they're able to go out and just find a way." Kendrick Raphael scored three TDs for the Bears, who have lost 14 straight games against ranked opponents since beating No. 21 Oregon in 2020.

Cal got back into the game with a trick play midway through the third quarter. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele threw a lateral to tight end Mason Mini, who then passed to Raphael open down the field for a 42-yard score that cut Virginia's lead to 17-14. But Chandler Morris and the Cavaliers responded with a 75-yard drive capped by Eli Wood's 3-yard touchdown run. Raphael scored again on a 1-yard run after a shanked punt gave Cal the ball at the Virginia 25, making it a three-point game early in the fourth quarter. The Bears failed to move the ball on their next two drives and then Sagapolutele's late interception ended any comeback hopes. "The want to and the effort was there but we missed out on some opportunities," coach Justin Wilcox said. "On defense it was the third downs, offense we had a couple we didn't quite connect on. Ultimately against a team like that, you have to make those and we didn't do that." - Virginia/AP College Football

Notre Dame Football   Jeremiyah Love broke free through the middle, and finally No. 12 Notre Dame could see some daylight. Love's 94-yard touchdown run on the first play after an interception squelched a potential game-tying drive helped the Fighting Irish win 25-10 on Saturday against a surprisingly stout, one-win Boston College team. "We know there's a lot of things to clean up," Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman said after earning his sixth straight victory. "The challenges will get tougher. ... As you move farther into November, everything is magnified." Although Notre Dame (6-2) had been a 28 1/2-point favorite coming into the game against the only other Catholic school in FBS, the game was scoreless through one quarter and the Irish had a 12-7 lead at the half.

BC (1-8) trailed just 18-10 early in the fourth quarter - thanks to three missed Irish kicks - and had a chance to tie it before Adon Shuler intercepted Grayson James inside the Notre Dame 5-yard line with 11:21 left. On the next play, Love went up the middle before heading for the left sideline and outracing the defenders to the end zone. "I don't think we were perfect tonight, but we were relentless," said linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, who had nine tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. "And we never stopped playing hard." Love ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns for the Irish, who haven't lost since Sept. 13, when they dropped their second straight to a ranked team, by a combined four points. They beat BC for the 10th time in a row since 2008.   Mississippi State Football   Blake Shapen threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Evans III on fourth down with 18 seconds left, lifting Mississippi State over Arkansas 38-35 on Saturday for its first Southeastern Conference victory of the season. The Bulldogs trailed by 14 points with 13:43 left before Shapen led scoring drives of 75, 43 and 69 yards to overcome the deficit. Arkansas, which entered with the seventh-ranked offense in FBS, lost a total of 15 yards on its final three drives. Davon Booth started the fourth-quarter comeback with a 2-yard touchdown run and Kyle Ferrie followed on the next drive with a 46-yard field goal to trim the deficit to four points. The Razorbacks ran just three plays on the ensuing drive before punting, setting up Mississippi State's go-ahead score.

Shapen completed 16 of 28 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns. He missed the middle part of the game after being hit on a roughing-the-passer penalty on the first play of the third quarter. Back-up Kamario Taylor entered and led two scoring drives, one capped with a 45-yard touchdown pass to Evans and the other with a 20-yard touchdown run. Arkansas led 13-7 at halftime behind a touchdown pass from Taylen Green to Rohan Jones and two field goals by Scott Starzyk. Green added an 8-yard rushing touchdown followed by a 20-yard score on the ground by Mike Washington Jr. that provided Arkansas with a 14-point lead midway through the third quarter. Taylor and Braylen Russell traded touchdowns on the next two possessions before the Bulldogs' rally. Green finished 19-of-31 passing for 194 yards and a score with another 46 yards rushing on 17 carries. Washington added 116 yards rushing with a touchdown. Arkansas hurt itself by committing 18 penalties for 193 yards. Brenan Thompson, who caught a 32-yard pass on fourth-and-7 to put the Bulldogs into Arkansas territory on their go-ahead drive, had six catches for 107 yards.
