  2019 BRONKO NAGURSKI AWARD WINNER: Defensive end Chase Young added another piece of hardware to his trophy case on Monday evening when he became just the second-ever Buckeye to win the Bronko Nagurski Award as the nation's top defensive player. Young, from Upper Marlboro, Md., and DeMatha Catholic High School, has had one of the most dominant defensive seasons in the history of college football. He leads the nation with 16.5 sacks and 1.50 sacks per game for the 13-0 Big Ten champion Buckeyes. His 21.0 tackles-for-loss ranks fourth and 1.91 tackles-for-loss in tops nationally. The Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Lineman of the Year, Young is also a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, just the ninth defensive player ever to make it to New York. Young is also a finalist for the Maxwell Award, Bednarik Award and Ted Hendricks Award. Ohio State's only other Bronko Nagurski Award winner was James Laurinaitis, who won the award in 2006 and was a finalist in 2007. - Ohio State Football
