  Michigan has added a transfer and lost a player to the NCAA transfer portal. Linebacker Ernest Hausmann, coming off a standout freshman season at Nebraska, transferred to the Wolverines on Thursday, while quarterback Alan Bowman, who arrived at Michigan in 2021 and had been a starter at Texas Tech, is moving on. Hausmann, a three-star recruit, played in every game for the Cornhuskers, including seven starts. He had 54 tackles, including two for loss and a sack, and a fumble recovery. He is the second transfer Michigan has added this month. Arizona State offensive lineman LaDarius Henderson transferred earlier this month.

Bowman, a graduate student, played behind Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy during his two seasons at Michigan. Bowman, who made seven starts as a Texas Tech freshman in 2018, played in four games at Michigan this fall. He was 6-of-7 for 60 yards and a touchdown. Bowman is the fourth player in recent weeks to transfer from Michigan joining McNamara, tight end Erick All and defensive lineman George Rooks. Bowman, a graduate student, played behind Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy during his two seasons at Michigan.
