Jamien Sherwood didn't run as fast as he had hoped at Auburn's pro day earlier this month. The former Auburn safety clocked in an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.75 seconds-a full two-tenths of a second slower than he was aiming for while training for the draft at Brandon Marshall's House of Athlete facility in South Florida. He said he stumbled slightly on his first attempt at pro day, but his second one was somewhat better. Either way, Sherwood isn't too concerned with how fast he ran in front of personnel from 30 of the NFL's 32 teams on March 18. After all, 40 times may grab attention, but they aren't the end all, be all for prospects. "It says a lot, but it doesn't say everything," Sherwood said. "...My motto is, 'how do you stop speed? You hit it.' You can run a 4.1, but once you run into a wall, it comes to an end."

"Most teams just told me that they just wanted to see me move, wanted to see me run and actually get a feel for me," Sherwood said. "They saw what I could do on the field and stuff like that. Most teams weren't sure if I would be a box safety or a backside linebacker. But today (at pro day), I feel like I put on a good show, especially when we got to the drill parts. I feel like I answered any questions that they didn't have answered yet. Me, personally, I can do both of them (safety and LB). And the way that I moved today, I feel like they can think the same." - Birmingham News
