Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Morgenstern announced Monday he will stay with the team for 2021. Morgenstern was credited with 32 tackles and 4 1/2 tackles for loss in his first season after coming to Tech as a graduate transfer from Duke. Morgenstern is the eighth of 17 seniors, including four full-time and one part-time starter on defense, who have said they'll be back in 2021. The Texas Tech football team will have plenty of candidates for comeback player of the year next season, though not in the traditional sense of players returning from injury or some other misfortune to have a noteworthy season. Instead, the Red Raiders have seniors taking advantage of the opportunity afforded by the NCAA to come back for another senior season in 2021. - Lubbock Avalanche Journal
